I have traveled in the UK extensively and have come to enjoy high tea! One morning I had a craving for high tea so we found Wildflower tea room not too far from Austin. The service was impeccable -- proprieters were friendly and extraordinarily kind. They were attentive and ensured that our time there was an enjoyable one! They do make everything from scratch and that was very pleasant! They had delightful finger sandwiches cut in the shape of butterflies, with egg salad, chicken salad and cucumber as well as small savories, scones and they offered a chocolate fondue for dessert or trifle or italian cream cake, although I think those were for mother's day. It was very riminiscent of a British tea room but with Hill Country Flair, it was a pleasant drive from Austin and I would recommend it to anyone. My only suggestion is to extend the creativity in their sandwiches into more intriguing varieties but that is not to say what they offered was less than excellent -- it was wonderful...but I love unique combinations. I think this tea room will be a hit!
