  • Cosy Cupboard Tea Room

Cosy Cupboard has a special place in my heart--because its owner, James, has a big heart himself. Every year he generously donates a Grand Tea to be auctioned off to help numerous charities and schools, including the one I'm directly involved with, which provides critical services to children with autism. It is always a highly bid-on auction item, mostly because Cosy Cupboard is known in the area for its so-quaint atmosphere and its wonderful foods and teas. The apple butter and cinnamon scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam are really good and the tomato soup is some of the best I ever tasted. The tea sandwiches had a nice assortment. The Grand Edwardian tea was a good value--I couldn't finish it all and I have a large appetite! I had the Darjeeling (loose tea) with it was rich and flavorful. Another really nice thing: they don't rush you and you aren't crammed in. So if you want to go with some friends and have some quality time, this is the place to go.
