Yesterday's Cafe & Tea Room
I was raised on tea, and was thrilled to hear that a tea room had opened in Florence. Susan and her staff have made Yesterday's the most welcoming, warmest place to go for a quick pick-me-up or a sit-down meal. The loving care that Susan and her staff put into preparing food and beverage are apparent, as the positive (healthy!) energy comes though in every bite/sip. The tea is more delicious, and the food more scrumptious, because it is prepared with pride, a joyful heart, and the intent of being nourishing to the body and the soul. The entire atmosphere is charged with warmth and camaraderie; strangers are liable to strike up conversations across the room on any subject imaginable. This is part of the magic that the staff creates. Regulars are warmly welcomed back, first-timers are promptly fussed over, and everyone is made to feel cozy and pampered. No one is a stranger here for long! Susan is amazingly knowledgeable about tea, and is willing to offer suggestions when you just can't decide which one to try. She is a kind, friendly person with whom I always enjoy chatting (as is the rest of the staff). I come in regularly on my mornings off for a pot of tea and a muffin or scone, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
