Whimsical Teas Tea Room
In reading over all the comments expressed I find it amusing and incredulous that the responses could be so extreme and the effort to address the negative ones are the same. It would seem to me that if the complaints are the same, that it would behoove the owner to make the changes so that the areas of concern wouldn't happen again. I find it difficult to understand how one person can say everything was delicious and another say the scones are hard and the bread dry. Somehow there is a disconnect somewhere. Did I come at the wrong time?!! I did visit the tea room. Yes, the service is very warm, congenial but the food came out very slow. It may be that you want to encourage conversation? But some people do need to get to places. The scones were 50/50. One was really soft and flaky, the other would not cut through with the knife unless I held it down. I would say the quality of the food was good, just not enough!!! The tomato soup was great with a kick and the quiche was good too, a little dry but not bad. But for $19.95, getting 4 little 1 1/2 inch square open faced bites is hardly what we expected for $20 bucks. It was mostly bread and why open-faced? Even the dessert was one little 1 inch cube of fudge brownie and a shortbread cookie. I wonder, are some people getting more food than others? Could you not spare a bit more cream cheese or chicken salad (or whatever the filling was...I did not taste it). Would you say that what you serve is worth 20 dollars? You have a cute place and I would like to return but you gotta give a bit more food for the money. I was disappointed because the servings were so sparse. We have done teas at home for special occasion and I know that 1 cup of egg salad or chicken salad goes a long way to make a lot of sandwiches. I have been to tea rooms where they give you enough food but the atmosphere and 'cheer' is definitely lacking. You all are very friendly and nice people but I also consider food value.
