Icchose the Faded Rose Tea Garden by going on line. I live in NC and was making plans long-distance for a bridal tea for my neice,. I lucked out on my choice. Mrs. Lord, the owner, was very friendly, cooperative and helpful when I reached her by phone to make arrangements. She was most helpdful and thoughytful in all my dealings with her. She followed through on all our arrangements and provided us with a very spefial bridal tea for my neice, her attendants and other family and friends. The tea room is a wonderfully charming and whimsical 1800;S home which is decorated in keeping with the flavor and style of that time. There was an unlimited supply of teas with well over 100 varieties to choose from., Our server,Sullivan, was most accomodating in brewing pots of any variety of tea we wished to try, I think between the 14 guests there, we probably tried 15 to 20 varieties,. All the teas were special blends some quite unusual but all very good. They were loose teas which had been blended into wonderful flavor combinations, (Several of us left with multiple bags of tea to take home we enjoyed them so much). Not only the teas, but the food was excellent. The scones were delicious with a variety of toppingsw for them such as clotted cream, lemon curd and a crasnberry spread--all of which were delicious and just what you would expect with an English Tea. The savories were also delicious and very unusual, The servings were generous with some of each for each persoh., The server was most helpful in describing each kind of savory and making sure everyone got to try them. Then came the sweets. At least 6 plus varieties of these and again some for everyone to have a serving of each.. We were given time to enjoy each course and all the varieties of tea that we wished. We were not made to feel rushed or hurried but encouraged to take our time and enjoy,.The atmosphere was calm and quiet and v3ry condusive to being able to talk with everyone up and down the table., I had briefly memtioned the colors the bride was using in the wedding and qu8ite to my surprise these were the colors used in the tablescape for us,. I had also used these colors in the favors and place cards and the tablescape matched wonderfully. We had 14 guests ranging in age from grandparentsw to the 20-something attendants and the 8 year old flower girl. Everyone including the 8 year old thoroughly emjoyed not only the atmosphere but the tea and the food,. One attendeant even had to bring her 10-month old son and there was a high chair and accomodations for him. Our server, Sullivan, did an excellent job of making all of us females feel comfortable and well looked after., I woiuld highly recomend the Faded Rose to anyone wishing to enjoy a quality experience for a special occawsion or just an afternoon out., My only regret is that I am not closer to the area so that I could use it regularlky.,
