Bell Mansion Tea House
My wife and I are vegetarians. When I tried to make a reservation the person on the phone was not at all accommodating. I was told to look at the menu online to see if there was enough we could eat!!! How do we know from the menu if items such as soup are meat based? Afternoon Tea is 'our thing.' We have visited well over 100 tea roooms in the US and Europe. Always our dietary needs have been graciously accommodated; but NOT by Bell Mansion! It seems they have lost sight of the most important factor in business success - doing whatever it takes to have happy customers. They lost us at the point of the reservation by making it clear that they don't really care about pleasing and accommodating even potential customers. We assume they have all the business they need! We did not eat at Bellwood; but could not post this review without filling in all the fields; it may be good, but from our experience trying to make a reservation we felt 'lacking' in most categories would be appropriate.

Wilbur, We are surprised by your review today and the misunderstanding concerning our ability and willingness to accommodate the dietary needs of our guests. We apologize that our willingness to accommodate your dietary needs was not clearly explained and/or understood over the phone. We have, do, and will continue to guide our guests in making item selections from our existing menu. If existing menu items require dietary accommodations and/of provisions, we offer our guidance for, not only our vegetarian guests but also for our vegan, gluten-free and lactose intolerant guests. Most of all, we truly wish you would have allowed us to serve you as our in-house guest and been able to rate us accordingly. We gladly welcome you to visit us an allow us to provide the excellent service we provide all our guests, special dietary needs or not.
