Each year when we visit my mom for her birthday, I take her to a tea room. The place we had planned to go was unable to accommodate us, and at the 11th hour, Nancy made room for our little trio. I was disappointed to not be in the tea room itself, until they took us to the gazebo! With scents from the rose garden wafting up to us, and the view of rolling fields beyond, we were enchanted! The table ware was of higher quality than some tea rooms I have visited, and, although I notice details and have found other rooms lacking, I could find no fault with anything at all. There was an extensive tea list, and our hosts were most attentive (although not TOO attentive!), even though their entire tea room was booked for a private party. The teas were brewed 'just right,' the cool cantaloupe soup was refreshing (even though I didn't expect to like it!), there was a nice variety of tea sandwiches, and 3 types of dessert offered. (I might have liked a less-sweet choice, but this is a personal preference). To top it all off, Nancy and Tim were ready to accommodate my mom's limited physical mobility; Tim met us at the car with a golf cart which whisked us to the gazebo, and then to the boutique at the end of our visit. (I should note that there is a single, large, step up in the bathroom. While this was not prohibitive to my mother, it might be for some.) Thanks so much for making our tea and Mom's special day so memorable!
