Tea Eras Tea Room

On July 16th 2011 I went to the Tea Era Tea room for the first time. After reading several reviews I was looking forward to trying out a new Tea room. We had a large group and had to be put at 2 separate tables.

First I was surprised by how small our tea pots were. I was barely able to get 2 cups of tea from my small pot. And because the server gave my tea to my Mother in error. I only got 1 cup of the tea I ordered, then when I asked for more tea all I was giving hot water, so the next pot was so weak there was barely any flavor (all of us were only offered hot water) and our tea bags were not refreshed. So there was no endless pot of tea as we are use to from most Tea houses.

When our food was served the server did not tell us what the sandwiches scones etc were on our... (more) plates. We were very disappointed that a table of 4 was only give 1 small serving on Cream & Preserves to share (there was no Lemon Curd) really an English Tea house that does not serve Lemon Curd.

I will say the salad was very good an a large potion, the sandwiches were good but had no idea what types they were.

Needless to say our whole group was disappointed and will not return to this tea house.

I have taken the 1 1/2 hour drive to Tea Eras on several occasions. This tearoom is certainly worth the drive. The decor is transforming...I feel like I'm on vacation without a care in the world while I am sipping my tea and enjoying the excellent food offered at Tea Eras. The service is superb. They serve and sell the best chai tea latte mix I've ever tasted. I highly recommend Tea Eras Tearoom.

I have been to Tea Eras several times over the past few years, and always enjoy the atmosphere and quality food every time. Today I visited the new location for the first time and was impressed with the quaint decor, there is even a iron rod gazebo that fits in nicely with the interior. The scones were hot and fresh right out of the oven and the soup was fantastic! Last but not least were the desserts, bread pudding is one of my favorites and was delicious! I always look forward to this wonderful tea room.

Out table kept exclaiming, 'the best we've ever had'. The scones were fresh, right out of the oven. Sorry Kate was disappointed as everything was wonderful for us. Soup was very tasty, nice salad, nice savories and sweets were excellent! Thanks again for the lovely tea, and such pampered service!

Again, another lovely Royal Tea at Tea Eras. What a wonderful afternoon with the 'girls' in the family.

I visited this tea room a couple of years ago, and loved it. Went back today, and half of it is now a little girls' dress shop. The scones were like day old bread and they pass Cool Whip off as clotted cream. Tea never got full-bodied even though we asked for more tea to be added and let it steep a lot longer...I think it was old tea.

I have visited this tea room MANY times over the years and have never been disappointed. If I want to take any of my friends somewhere special, this is my first choice. Incredible ambiance, EXCELLENT food - always fresh, and the owners are the epitome of graciousness and nurturing. My only regret is that I don't live close enough to go every day!
