Teaberry's Tea Room
Having lived in England for 16 months, I was looking forward to a reprise of charm, gentility, and rich scones with clotted cream, and Teaberrry's did not disappoint! The ambience is perfect, down to the fancy sugar cubes and antique hats hanging everywhere. My daughters enjoyed the Princess Tea which comes with child-friendly sandwiches, such as fluffernutters and Nutella (not too English but my kids were happy). Don't order this if you want authentic cucumber sandwiches and the like, however - for these you need the adult selections. Although the menu is pricey, it is still less than you will pay in Greater London! My suggestion is go with a friend or two and one of you order the sandwiches ('Castle Collection')and one the scones or dessert Tea, and share - more economical than each ordering the full Tea, and there will be plenty of food to share. For tea, I recommend the Strawberry Darjeeling or the Luscious Fruits tea; the Caramel Creme smells heavenly but is a tad bitter - ask them to brew it a bit weak. For a special occasion, this place is perfect.
