Went to this quaint tea shop last week with friends and we had such a great time! Madge was delightful as our hostess. The Acorn squash soup was divine and every thing was delicious. Dunedin is such a great city. I will definitely be back!

Thank you for your lovely review. Hope to see you soon!

  • The Empress Tea Room & Event Dinning

I had High Tea with a friend today at the Empress and while the food was good and service was good, I was disappointed in the overall experience. First, while waiting in the retail area for my friend, I couldn't help but notice how dirty and dusty everthing was. The windows were flithy and it just gave the entire place a shabby feeling. The tea was good, but we only got 1 pot to split between us. The waitress was extremely pleasant and courteous, so give them high marks for her, but the overall experience could have been much better with just a few changes, like serving the food on a tier stand instead of a platter, offering a tea menu (I was told they don't have one because they rotate their teas)and improving the overall look of the front of the tea room. This is my second time to the Dale Mabry location. The first time in January was okay, but service was slow.

  • Cretia's Tea Room

I was visiting my sisters in TX (I live in FL) and five of us visited Cretia's Tea Room expecting to have a wonderful experience. My sister had wanted to vist for a while. I've visited many tea houses and thought this would be a fun experience. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. This is not really a 'tea room' but a restuarant that advertises 'high tea'. While the price ($15) per person was expected, the service, food and overall experience was not. The half sandwiches served were not very tasty, the scones were hard and bland, they did not serve clotted cream or jam (a high tea staple) and the dessert (blueberry mousse) was awful. The tea selections were very limited and if you needed your teapot refilled, they just added hot water! Definitely a tea 'don't'. The room appeared dingy and outdated. The table was dirty and the overall feel, for the price, was very lacking. Sorry, but I can not not recommend this place.

I recently visited Lavender and Lace and was dissappointed. It is more a restuarant than a tea room. They only do high tea once or twice a month (which I don't recall seeing on the web site) and the overall food/service was okay, but nothing like what I thought based on the other comments. It is decorated very nicely, but overall not a place I would visit again
