The phone number doesn't work & when I called 411 they showed no phone associated with the address. Please do not confuse this with Miss Molly's Tea Room in Medina (like I did) & call them because they won't know what you're talking about.

My sister took me there for Christmas and it was a wonderful experience. We frequent different tea houses and this is one of the best. The decor is very Victorian and relaxing, the food was excellent and the service friendly and prompt. An outstanding tea room.

I took my daughters to the Sanctuary this summer for a special treat. We were truly dissapointed. We ordered Shepherd's pie that was on the menu but not available so we ordered soup which we had to ask for three times before it actually was brought to the table. The children's tea was a peanut butter an jelly sandwich served on Wonder bread (I would at LEAST expect homemade) and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and something resembling a brownine (very burnt). Our server knew we were dissapointed but did not seem to care - I got the impression that she was an owner. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, most of the time without benefit of tea or the items we ordered. I have been watching this site and have been amazed by the reviews, my step-mother is a Red-Hat lady in Grove City and her group had apparently decided to come to the Sanctuary. But after talking to others, they decided after hearing about the quality of the food and tea they would stick with another tea room. It seems that the local community knows that the Sanctuary is over priced and over rated.

      Tearoom response:

We are sorry that after so long Megan still feels this strong about her trip to The Sanctuary Tea Room. In answer to her specific items:
We ran out of shepherds pie only on days we had many guests who ordered it...it is not a summer food, so we did not make as much each day in the summer as we did in winter so it would always be fresh. This happens at all resturants sometime or other. We had a very large menu with many other items to choose from. The owner was not her server, as we did not do serving duties. I did hostess and cash all guests out and I do not remember anyone ever mentioning the complaints she has noted here as we would have attempted to make it right had she told us at the time of her visit. The menu indicated the childs tea was PB&J, so if they did not want that I am not sure why they would have orderd it with so many other items to choose from. We did not use Wonder Bread this summer, nor did the menu indicate the bread was home made and we did not serve burnt desserts. Many of our guests came and stayed for much more than 2.5 hours because they wanted to... if I saw someone in the tea room for 2.5 hours I would not have thought them distressed, but enjoying themselves. (Unless they mentioned otherwise.) Many Red Hat groups from Grove City and else where came enjoyed and came back, many of them serval times as did MANY of the local community...Never once were we told that the prices were too high or that we are overrated. Megan stands alone.
Marsha Heim

I am the owner of The Sanctuary Tea Room and would like to respond to the 12/4/06 review from M Kiszely. The tea sandwiches (including the pb&J) were those selected by choice of the tour director John to maintain a lower cost. We did indeed have a tea water machine issue (which had an 80 degree temp), and we corrected as soon as we were told. Of the 40 folks on the tour, there were 10 we had to correct. I personally went around and apologized for problem and each person seemed satisfied. Tea Cups and saucers were at every place setting before they arrived, we apoligize the reviewers was missing and for the fact that they had to ask twice. I was out and about checking on guests through out their stay. We certainly apoligize for the experience noted in the review but I was not told any of these issues by the reviewer that day or would have attempted to make it right with them then. Those that I talked to seemed happy and satisfied and said they enjoyed the experience. We cannot correct an issue for a guest if we are not told. From the other 14 reviews I am sure all readers can see this guests experience was certainly not only rare but the only one so far in our experiences. If the reviewer would connect us we will certainly attempt to make it right. We want for each guest to have a pleasant enjoyable experience, and are sorry we were not given the oppurtunity to correct the reviewers experience at the time.

We were on a bus tour and had reservations at the Sanctuary Tea Room. Many people received COLD Water for their tea. Some of the finger sandwiches had crusts on them and one of the sandwiches was peanut butter and jelly! I have never experienced this at other tea houses. The staff was friendly, but I did have to ask two different people to get a tea cup since I didn't have one when my pot of tea arrived.

We recently had a four generation tea at the Tea Room and had a great time. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food was good. The selection of tea was large and what we had was so good! We plan to go back and make this a tradion for our family!

What a wonderful experience. This is my 8yr old daughters favorite place to go. We had her birthday party there just last weekend and it was great! All of her little friends loved it and want their mothers to bring them back. The service was excellent and really catered to my daughter and her friends to make her birthday special. We go there often and will make many more trips there. Grove City needed a place to sit back, relax and enjoy life.

We had our daughter's 7th birthday party here with her friends. The Sanctuary did a great job with making her feel special, served the Ginger Bread Tea that included a decaf tea, soup, sandwich, light sides and a brownie. It was well done and gave the young ones a great first experience of having an afternoon tea. Seated at another table, the adults had light sandwiches which were healthy and tasty at the same time. We loved the atmosphere, exposed brick walls, soft music, high ceilings and Victorian character. The staff were delightful!

This Tea room has it all. A wonderful selection of tea, finger sandwichs and flaky scones. The Sancuary is located in an older home with three themed rooms for tea and a nice gift shop. Lovely framed art.It was nice to get away from the Victorian look. Be sure to take a peak into the room next to kitchen.

While this tea room is relatively new, it has great potential. The food and service were outstanding. The Victorian decor needs further enhancement, but I believe that will come over time. I would definitely go back.

We liked your menu. The food was very tasty. The variety of teas was wonderful. My two sisters and I checked out your tea room last week and before we left we made reservations for our next Red Hat meeting. We're expecting a turn out of about 18 to 20 Red Hatters.
