This is my monthly ladies tea house! The quality (and diversity!) of their tea menu should not be missed if you are anywhere near the Montgomery area. David and Beth are wonderful and spoil us rotten every time we visit! A must visit tea room in the South!

Birthdays, holidays and other special occasions would not be the same without a visit to the Smith-Byrd House. Patrons are welcomed to this historic home with warm greetings and the enticing aromas of freshly baked scones. Teatime is a culinary masterpiece, with menus that highlight traditional favorites while offering enough variety to make a return trip worthwhile. After savoring a three-tiered tray of sweets and savories, along with a bottomless pot of tea, a trip to the gift shop is in order. From start to finish, each visit to Smith-Byrd is a delight to the palate and a balm to the spirit.

My sister, her two grandchildren, and I had tea at the Smith-Byrd House while I was visiting from Texas, the week before Christmas. It was the tearoom closest to my sister's house so it was our first choice but will continue to be our first choice because of the wonderful experience we had. I've visited tearooms in CA and in the Washington DC area and I truly had never seen such a large selection of teas to choose from! The house was beautifully decorated, peaceful, and relaxing. Our hosts, Beth & David, were warm and welcoming and made my first 'fancy' tea with my precious great-niece & great-nephew a delightful and unforgettable one!

Great Variety of Teas! Offered an explanation of the tea types and offered unlimited tea tastings ! Their scones were fresh and hot right out of the oven, delicious!

I highly recommend this tea room. Only concern I had, was that they didnt have lemonade/orange juice to offer kids who didn't like teas. Hopefully they've already added this option.

My mom,my daughter and I went to the tea room today for lunch. It was my first trip to a tea room and I really didnt know what to expect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing and very different from anything I had experienced before. Although I was not a hot tea drinker I think that the next time I am in town I will be returning to visit this neat place. I really liked the iced tea I tried----Crime of Passion.

Lucky locals to have this place in your neighborhood--I'd be there often! Excellent loose leaf teas, VERY WELL brewed, in bottomless tea pot so tried several teas, and delicious three-tier tea tray (loved the orange brownies and lavendar cooky--Mother's fav was the Pecan Bar). Service was just attentive enough without hovering. My whole group had a lovely time! Thanks so much for your hospitality.

My family and I have enjoyed tea at the Smith-Byrd House on several occasions. An exceptional variety of loose leaf teas are available including herbal, flavored, green, black, rooibos and honeybush, and earl. My favorites (so far) are Honeybush, Snowflake, and Green Almond Cookie. Beth and David know quite a bit about different teas, and they are willing to spend time with guests educating them and helping them make tea selections.

The quality of the food along with its presentation also makes for a delightful tea experience. All dishes are freshly prepared. The salads are beautiful, and the quiche is superb! Serving sizes are substantial, too. Be sure to save room for the scones with clotted cream and jam (delicious!). Guests may also tour the home and purchase gifts from the gift shop.

A few months ago, my family and I traveled to Florida and had tea at the Garden View Lounge in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. After enjoying tea at the Smith-Byrd House, we were quite disappointed with our tea experience at the Garden View Lounge. Tea and food selections at the Smith-Byrd House greatly surpass that of the Garden View Lounge, and the prices are much better as well. The personal service and fresh food provided by David and Beth combined with their knowledge of teas elevates the quality of the tea experience.

Two friends and I had lunch and tea at the Smith-Byrd Tea Room last week. All 3 of us lived in the United Kingdom, and spent a lot of time enjoying traditional English teahouses there. We all agreed that this tearoom tops even our favorite spot in Lavenham (home of the famous 'crooked houses'! The selection of teas, not to mention David and Beth's knowledge of the them, was amazing. As much as we enjoyed the lovely teas, we cannot say enough about the food. We splurged and enjoyed the queen's tea which included a generous slice of quiche, a salad with a light dressing, finger sandwiches, scones, and a selection of desserts. All of it absolutely delectable! David and Beth were incredibly warm, friendly and hospitable. A lovely, lovely experience. My friends and I can't wait to come back (soon!) again.

Every year for the past 3 years I have taken a close friend to a tearoom to honor her on her birthday, but would not tell her which one or where (a continued tradition started with my mother until she went home to be with the Lord Jesus 3 years ago). This time I told my friend it was going to be an adventure for both of us since this was my first visit also. Both of us were most pleasantly surprised. When we arrived, we were a little apprehensive because the yard was not as neat and tidy like you might expect probably due to concentration on renovating the inside of the house. But when we went inside, we felt like we were experiencing a little of the past. The food was excellent served in the English tradition. We especially liked the cheese quiche. There was a good selection of loose teas from which to choose. In fact we both discovered some new flavors that we purchased to bring home to enjoy at a later time. My favorite was Snowflake. The background music created a very calming/relaxing atmosphere. Even though it was a little distance to travel, the whole experience was well worth the trip. Thank you for making my friend's birthday a special event.

I have been to several tea rooms in the past few years(in Al. as well as Tenn) and this one is by far the best.Best price, food ,service. This one is fairly new to the area(little over 1 yr) but I love it!

Very nice people. Lovely old home.

Cute gift selection. We enjoyed eating here. It is a long way from Birmingham, but if we were in the neighborhood we would stop again.
