We had just met one of our long-time online friends in person, and took her here. I've been here before for some lovely crepes, pastries, tea, and other items. We went in for their newish Tea menu (I don;t see it online), and ordered the King and Queen's Tea package. Holy cow, it was delicious! This is what we got:
Three choices of English-style loose-leaf tea
six kinds of bite-size sandwiches with homemade sauces
Spring mix salad with Italian vinaigrette
House-made coleslaw
Three scones with strawberry jelly Three pieces each of banana bread and glazed lemon bread
Three petite thumbprint cookies
Three madeleines
Three pieces each of triple-layer chocolate mousse cake and lemon-coconut mousse cake
Three petite cheesecakes
Fruit mix
Three choices of French macaroons
The sandwich selection was really quite good. with both vegetarian, sweet, and savory selections. The pastries were delicious, and the scones were from scratch. Oh, my goodness, it was a lot of food! We're not tiny ladies, and we couldn't even eat half of what was served.
The new manager, Elena (Parakalo, Elena!)was really helpful and wonderfully sweet. She checked on us and all of the other customers regularly, and the owners introduced themselves. They checked on us often, too. We had a really lovely time.I can't recommend this place enough - not just for the teas, but for all of the other delicious offerings, as well as the hospitality. The tea, I believe, is only offered Friday through Sunday. You can get the regular menu items the rest of the time. Everything here is freshly made.Go! Go!
