Biggest disappointment in a Tea Room ever. This is a $20 per person (includes tax) high tea. What you are supposed to get for this is definately NOT what you receive. There were NO tea sandwiches. The three tiered serving tray was a graduated 4inch, 6inch and 8inch plates. This was for two adults. On the bottom was two plate there was 2 one by one and a half inch pieces of peach bread with a slathering of flavored butter. There were 4 tiny triangles of white bread, cracker thin, with a film of cream cheese and cucumber that was so thin you could see through it. One the second plate there was 1 cherry tomato, cut in half and filled with a pimento cheese from your grocers cooler. There were 2 dry, crumbly and thin pre-packaged, pre-frozen crumpets. On the top plate, there were 2 packaged 'cheesecake' tarts, about an inch wide, with a strawberry slice on top and 2 one inch chocolate brownie bits in a fancy paper cup. Along with the tea was a separate plate with two tablespoons of jarred jam, two tablespoons of lemon pie filling (definately NOT curd) and a two ounce pile of Redi Whip instead of clotted cream. This was a joke. Yes, the old house is beautiful. It is beautifully decorated. It has a room full of typical, unremarkable items for sale that looked like yard sale items. I felt so totally ripped off that I did something I have NEVER done before...... I left NO tip. I will never go back nor will I ever recommend high tea at this place.

I love going to this charming B&B and have had several teas here. I would like to have more teas to choose, usually only are offered two. Food is variable...have had some lovely sandwiches but some very dry scones. The service is always excellant and ambiance lovely. Birthdays are fun to celebrate here.

This is the most disappointing tea I have ever had. I left hungry which I never have with any other tea. Very small portions. Very pricey for the quantity. I will not recommend this to others. Don't waste your time or money. Not air conditioned-uncomfortable in 90 degree plus heat.

Four friends and I were well entertained looking through the house and gift shop. The tea was enjoyable and the hostess very pleasant.

The atmosphere is lovely, but for our tea party, we had only 1 type of tea (and 1 other lemonade like drink). It seemed overpriced for what was offered.

My mother, grandmother, & I attend afternoon tea at the Thompson House at Christmas time. We had a wonderful time dressing up in the old hats, gloves, stoles, & jewelry availalbe. The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The tea & snacks were fantastic. We also enjoyed the short lesson in how proper tea is served & enjoyed. This is a wonderful afternoon outing and I plan to return.
