The Virginia Historical Tea Society once again visited the Victorian Station for a Royal Afternoon Tea. As usual the food was most delicious and served perfectly. Their attention to detail is to be commended. We encourage others to take advantage of this wonderful tearoom in the future.

      The photograph shown on the

web-site is misleading. The establishment must have looked like this decades ago. First impressions matters. Several coats of paint would bring back the Victorian charm of this building.

There seems to be an identity crisis - is this a tea room or a barbeque cafe?

My guests and I were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The service was impeccable! Our server was friendly and accommodating. The presentation of our tea tray was inviting, we enjoyed every morsel of our tea sandwiches and desserts.

SUGGESTIONS: Instrumental Classical music will set the tone for tea time, work on the decor for the tea area; use real linen napkins and proper tea equipage - loose teas and NO tea bags PLEASE!

My friends and I have a special fondness for this place. They've always done their best to make sure we feel at home when we come to visit. The atmosphere is a little more relaxed than some other tea shops, but part of this place's charm is their family like feeling. This place is more like visiting a charming friend in the countryside than tea with the queen.

Hi Karen...we missed seeing you during our lunch visit with the Victorian Society.

      As usual, everything was tea-licous!

The ladies were busy with serveral groups, but they kept a smile on their faces and kept up the pace. We always know, we will have the best , when we visit the Victorian Station!

My husband and I enjoyed an afternoon tea at this lovely tearoom last Saturday. The staff greeted us warmly and promptly seated us. Even though they were busy with a large party upstairs we never felt neglected. Our server was always nearby checking to see if we needed anything. The tea was of good quality and a new choice was offered each time we finished our pots. And then there was the food... Everything was delicious and plentiful. The quiche is made on site and could not have been better. I visit tearooms all over the country and who would have thought that such a gem was almost in my own back yard. I can't wait to go back!

I am the Director Of The Virginia Tea Society and was recently treated to a fabulous afternoon birthday tea at The Victorian Station Tea Room. The tea and menu were selected especially for me (I felt like a Queen!)

We were all dressed in our best tea attire and our proper tea hats and gloves, all which added to the unique tea experience.

The elegant atmosphere was breathtaking, the service supurb and the food was to die for!

The owner and staff had done everything possible to make my day one that I will never forget.

Many of the Virginia Tea Society members were in attendance. The afternoon experience truely reflected the true mission statement of the Virginia Tea Society, 'To share the love of tea, to foster friendships and to always relax and have fun.

One more thing, do take of the extrraodinary gift shop on the first floor. The variety is so extensive that I always have to purchase something.

Lots of Tea Love to The Victorian Station Staff and to those who read this review.

Hi I am 9 years old and I went to the Victorian Station not too long ago, and i was not too pleased with what I saw. All of the sandwiches that were given had olives and shredded carrots all over them. The sandwiches did not taste very good and I did not really eat any of them. The place looked nice and the servers were fine, but the food... not so great. I do not think I will be returning again. The presentation was not very good because it was all put on platters. This would be a good thing to consider changing.

I frequent this teahouse often. One cannot ask for better customer service, than what is experienced here. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is calming. The restrooms are clean!

I appreciate the variety of food inwhich they serve. Please continue the great service.

This was beyond my expectations...the croissant that came with my homemade chicken salad sandwich was freshly baked, the herb-roasted potatoes were delicious. The presentation of soup and meal on fine china and the light and airy atmosphere in this beautifully renovated victorian home made our visit all the more special.

The Victorian Station is a beautiful Victorian home, decorated charmingly, and filled with very kind and friendly staff. The afternoon tea was delicious! All the sandwiches and the desserts were very tasty. We enjoyed every bit of our experience.

My friends and I went there early in the summer. We were quite disappointed. The outside of the house looks inviting and the hostess was friendly. The decor was quite sparse. Nothing that would make you think you were in a Victorian Tea Room. We were not given a choice of tea and a pot of Earl Grey was brought to the table. Finally, when we pressed to try another variey we were presented with a variey of tea bags. The food was not very creative or tasty. It was obvious the miniture muffins presented as one of the desserts were from a package. Even dressed up with a sqirt of spray whipped cream they were dry. I'd say that with some expert advice from those in the know about tea and menu planning this could become a good place to visit, but for now it has a long way to go.
