Uniquely Yours Tea Room THE BUTLER HOUSE
I live in Maryland, but am always sure to visit this tearoom with Mom, who lives just a few miles away from it. I have visited numerous tea rooms around the USA, and this is one of my favorites because it surpasses all my criteria for a great tea room. Here are my metrics: Tea is full-leaf (a MUST) and plentiful. They keep it warm on a little platform with a tealight under it. Nice touch. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is made from scratch by the owner, Harriet. Few tea rooms can say they make absolutely everything. And the variety is impressive - you get 4 types of sandwiches, at least 4 different desserts, and the scones are awesome. Did I mention everything is homemade? The server actually knew what she was serving us. Too many times the server will put something in front of you and not really know what it is. The server also knew what was in each tea selection. Walking into the room was like a dream. It's so beautifully decorated (Victorian style), it was just a pleasure to spend a few hours there. I encourage anyone in the Cecil, PA area to visit this tearoom as Harriet deserves your business for all her hard work to do it right. And you deserve the experience because it's truly memorable. Now go and enjoy some tea!
