I go for tea with my girlfriends a few times a year. We tried harmony and it was decent for the price and it is close to where I live. I needed to come up with an idea for my bachelorette party and I thought tea at harmony would be a nice way to start the day. Let's just say it wasn't. We wound up being a group of 12 which is considered a private party. They schedule private parties before there normal business hours, so we had to do tea at 11am which was fine. I gave them the $50 dollar deposit and when I went to set up the morning of they had two tables set for six people each. I also bought ballons with me and was told i could not bring them in, I didn't over react I just said fine and left them on my car. I asked if we could turn the tables so everyone was at the same table. The owner told me no, that doing that would interfere with service, I didn't understand what she meant so i continued to ask questions. She didnt want to pass hot soup over people. So the tables were left separate and we had tea. In the end the staff only served tea from one side of the table and passed the soup over guests. At the end i questioned the owner, the truth was that there was another party after mine and she didn't want to rearrange the resturant. It was a crappy way to start the day. I won't go back there. For $40 a person it wasn't worth it.
Hallie,<BR> I would like to clear up a misunderstanding. We open at 11AM and that is when the party started. The tea room holds 20 guests and we can only set one table for 8 across the room. We set 2 tables of 6 since you were a party of 12. You asked for the room to be rearranged when all of your guests were present and we couldn't make it work and I'm sorry about that. We allow balloons and flowers brought in as extra decoration and the highest price item on our menu for private parties is $27.95.
