A group of 12 went there on 1-29-2011, this had been planned for a month and were informed the cost was $17.95. When I checked on the web the other day the price was $17.95 but when the bill came it was $23.95 per person. We questioned it & were told 'Oh we raised our price as of Jan.' When thoses of us who have smart phones went on line it still stated $17.95 and was last updated 1-1-2011. The owner stated 'my husband does the website he must have missed the price.' She just lost 12 repeat customers, all she could say is I'm sorry but if you have been here before you will notice we have added a seasonal plate; Butternut squash soup cost $5.00 extra?????? If that is the case it should be a choice to have it or not. This is only the 2nd Tea Room I have been to, I will not be back. The 1st one I had the choice of as many different teas I wanted, I didn't have to drink a tea I did not like because you are only allowed 4 choices per group. The Devinshire cream & Lemon curd, a very very very small serving cup of each were put on the table to be shared by 2 it was really only enough for 1 person. Not worth $24.00 per person at all. I give it a thunbs down

    Tearoom response:

    Kim,

I've been in business for five years and never had anything but excellent reviews. It's unfortunate you and your friends misread the website. Our price has increased, but it was never $17.95. It was clearly stated as $17.00 plus tax and gratuity, making it $21.38 per person. This January, after three without a price increase, we raised our price $2.00. Our current price is very much in line with other quality tea rooms. We serve a very detailed and delicious high tea that has received rave reviews from experienced high tea customers. I served your demanding group ten pots of my fine imported loose tea. I do not have regular Saturday hours and opened up just for your private party. After your group left I noticed someone had taken the handful of honey sticks I had just put into a serving container. There are not many tea rooms in Western New York because of thoughtless people like you. I deeply regret giving up my Saturday for your rude group.
