When Annie's is on..they are good. I have visited Annie's many times. The food is hit and miss. A real 'tearoom' would not use Bigelow teabags. There is a choice oif teabags, but no real brewed tea. I have had a tea there and the food was okay, but nothing great. Also, I ordered ice cream in the winter, once, and it was freezer burned or something...something was wrong. Service is VERY slow when I have been there. I see otehrs have liked it, I just can't figure out why it's never good when I go. My mom loves, however. She loves the 'Benton Street' and I think it probably is the best thing on their menu.

We visited Annie's on a Saturday morning, the food was good. We would like to see brewed pots of tea offered in addition to teabags and hotwater. A bit more tea knowledge could give Annie's a boost in return business! We will return soon!

Annie's is a quiet cozy place to enjoy tea and conversation. Our group of 6 were treated like special friends from the moment we walked in the door. The tearoom is decorated very cute. We had the Victorian tea which offered 3 courses. The food has potential. The variety was exceptional. The quiche seemed watery and overcooked, however and the croissant sandwiches could use some spreads to liven them up a bit. With a little more attention to detail and freshness, Annie's could become one of the best kept secrets in the Crete area among tea goers.

annie's serves just what the name states...lunch, dinner, ice cream (for take out or sit in) and afternoon tea. and they serve it well.
located in an old house that is a treasure. there is plenty of free street parking. an easy find. go straight south on western avenue, then east on exchange street and then south on benton for a half block.
the front porch is large and is nice to sit out on when it is warm. you can sit out there to eat your ice cream or to have your tea served to you.
lunch and dinner are served when open and afternoon tea is served by reservation. the ice cream parlor has some great choices.
the interior is beautiful. hard wood floors, fireplace, butlers pantry etc..
as you enter the ice cream parlor is to your right while meal... (more)s and tea are served in the two rooms to your left.
as for the afternoon tea the tea cups and tea pots are lovely. there is a collection of them on the sideboard. cloth napkins and table cloths.
tea is a selection of tea bags presented in a sundae dish with a pot of hot water. i had no trouble getting them to put the bags into a pre-warmed tea pot and having the water added that way.
the tea food was fresh, tasty, beautifully presented and plentiful. i ordered the afternoon tea for one and got enough food for two people. while the menu is seasonal i got sandwiches, meatballs, scones, cookies, tea cakes, ice cream, chocolate etc..
nice staff.
nice owners.
clean, bright,cheerful.
they expect to open up the back yard / porch area for serving when the weather permits.
go you will love it
