Food: I had high hopes when I entered this hunter green and burgundy colored tea room with the lace curtains back in 2004. Even the fact that it was located in a strip mall didn't deter me from thinking that it just might be okay after all. They were the only place available to take reservations on a moment's notice (on Mother's Day) and now I know why. Apparently, no one wants to go there and I sure don't blame them. I had really 'talked up' the whole high tea experience to my friends and now none of them are interested in ever visiting a tea shop again! We each paid separately for our tea services (there were 3 of us), yet we were told that we would only be getting TWO tea pots so we could only choose two types of teas. Does that make any sense? Food: This is a TRUE British Tea room. They serve only one kind of tea, an excellent - and HOT - British tea. The atmosphere is beautifully old world English. The service is excellent, but be prepared to spend an unhurried and leisurely hour. They serve everything from scones with real Devonshire Cream to heartier fair including Bangers and Mash to Steak and Kidney Pie. The desserts as exquisitely wonderful. My husband and I have been there several times over the years and have NEVER been disappointed. |

Food: This is the only Tearoom I have ever been to so I really don't have anything else to compare it to, but I really enjoyed this place. They have a little store full of British goodies and the tearoom is just beyond that. I loved the cozy atmosphere and the feel of the room. It transported you across the pond to a more serene place where you forget your troubles for a while. Excellent service. |
