Excellent tearoom experience...and all dressed up for the holidays. What a perfect experience. Food and service was old fashioned and great. We will be back again

What an amazing and lovely Tea Room. I have traveled all across the country and Canada and have never seen a place as special and wonderful as Feathernesters. We traveled from Northern Virginia (Near Wash. D.C.) and we were certainly not disappointed.
Delicious cranberry orange scones, finger sandwiches, sweets and more on lovely trays. LOVED their Feathernesters blend tea. The shopping was great in their shop and we found MANY unique 'needful things'.

We had family come in from out of town and of course we HAD to bring them to Feathernesters. This place is so unique and wonderful. We found the food and service just wonderful and the shop you walk through to get to the Tea Room was absolutely breathtaking. We really did enjoy shopping - plus I saw an old friend I had not seen for over ten years dining there as well. This place is definitely one of the best places to go in Richmond. Their Sunday Brunch is delicious and reasonably priced. We highly recommend Feathernesters!

We had my daughter's bridal shower at Feathernesters this weekend and were very pleased with the whole experience. The dining area was sectioned off for our shower with napkins provided in her colors. A gift table was ready. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly. We were able to play a few games while we waited for our food to be served. The three cheese bread roast beef sandwich was delicious as well as the pork quiche. Several enjoyed the pink fruit ambrosia salad. The chicken salad was great as well. The feathernesters tea was a hit. Being able to shop before and after the party was enjoyable too. Thank you Feathernesters staff!

I made a reservation here 6 weeks in advance for a Bridesmaids' Luncheon. I told them it would be 10-12 people and they asked if I wanted to reserve a 'party room' which was a makeshift room basically with a curtain hanging up for an added $50. I told them that would not be necessary.

My reservation was made for noon on the day of Hurricane Irene so, I called the day before and moved the reservation to the following saturday. The person who answered the phone told me that the hurricane wasn't going to be 'that bad' and we might get a little rain and that we should still come in. Good thing I went with my instinct... here it is over a week later and people STILL don't have power...

All of the extra rudeness aside, I went in yesterday 45 minutes prior to my reservation wh... (more)ere two girls approached me and said that they had called to confirm my reservation and had an attitude because they did not get in touch with me. So, I check my phone and they called at 10:30 a.m. the morning of and left me a message but my phone never rang... due to the fact that all cell service has been messed up because of this hurricane.

Anyway, one woman pointed me to 3 separate tables and said that is where my party would be. The tables were not pushed together so I asked if they could be... and the woman said, 'Did you make a party room reservation?'. I said, 'No.'.. and she said, 'Well, we have other reservations and cannot push the tables together.' Then, she asked if it was for a bridal shower b/c I had a gift bag in my hand and I said, 'No, these are my bridal party gifts.' So, she was very aware that this reservation for 11 people was special to me and she still wouldn't push the tables together. So, I proceeded to tell her that we were not going to be able to eat there then and she kept her attutude and smug face and shook her head while saying, 'Okay'.

The only GOOD thing about this experience is that I was able to take my girls to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and have a whole BALLROOM to myself free of charge for us to enjoy our day in.

Thank you Feathernester's for being so rude and unaccommodating. I was glad I could take the business of 11 people elsewhere! :)

I would have appreciated being told up front that if the customer does not pay the extra fee to have a curtain put up that they will not sit your party together. So, if you have a party of 4+ people, do not expect to mingle together unless you want to get up and walk over to another table to talk with someone.

The shop you walk through is warm and inviting... until you get to the cold people who work there!

Very friendly, cute shop attached. Plenty of space so you don't feel crowded. Can handle larger parties. We usually go whenever we're in the area.

Feathernesters is unpretentious, has wonderful delicious homemade food and atmosphere. Lovely wait-staff and relaxing experience with my 80 year old mother and her two friends...brought us back to the service and ambience we remember way back when. We will return and highly recommend to everyone! No place like it in Virginia that is for sure...

This is really my kind of place! Wonderful food, courteous service, a fun place to meet my friends for lunch and dessert. Great shopping too! I would highly recommend this beautiful spot on Lakeside Avenue - two thumbs up!!

What a wonderful treasure to be found in Richmond! Feathernesters transported me back to a time of yesteryear with their great attention to service and details. We love the retro 1940's music they play and the homemade quiche is the best we have EVER eaten - hands down! Delicious food in the Tea Room and a beautiful store just full of wonderful things you just don't see elsewhere. My hat is off to the owners who obviously know what they are doing - keep it up! We will be back again and again...

My husband and I took his mother and her husband for luncheon tea. We had a blast!! The service was great and the food was beyond delicious and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed all the Miller & Rhodes and Thallhimers memorabilia since I grew up here and remember those stores fondly. The ambiance of the facility is amazing!! I plan on coming back with my girlfriends for a 'ladies afternoon out' very soon.
