The Golden Tea Garden is such a awesome and memorable experience There are an overwhelming selection of teas. The lunch and dessert was amazing. The atmosphere was almost dream like, the only other place I can even remotely compare it to is the Madonna Inn.

My Husband and I visited the Tea Garden not too long age and had a wonderful time. The theme was an absolute dream to be surrounded by and something you must come and experience for yourself. The service was excellent, even while hosting a rather large party at the time of our visit and the food selection was great! I learned so much about tea in just one visit, it was both enlightening and delightful fun. We encourage you to put the Tea Garden on your list of 'must visit,' and enjoy one of Hayward's little treasures!

Celebrated my grandaughter's 12th birthday with a High Tea for her and 6 classmates. It was a delightful afternoon and Beneba made their experience fun AND educational. There was a selection of nearly 200 teas to choose from, the food was fresh and the presentation excellent.I recommend the Lemon Pudding Cake but the Orange Cream Layer Cake is more appropriate for a birthday. The surroundings are definitely Old English but the atmosphere is less formal. The Golden Tea Garden is one of those 'hidden' jewels which I guarantee will not be hidden much longer.

My aunt recently treated myself and a friend to the fabulous Golden Tea Garden. The tea was wonderful, the food was delicious and the service was great! The atmosphere is so relaxing. My friend had been to other tea rooms which she said were stuffy and uptight. The Golden Tea Garden was so welcoming and cheery. We felt as if we were in a dream. We will be returning soon with friends.

I was one of the lucky friends that were taken to this wonderful place by Robin Peterson. I had just suffered the loss of my mother. Robin took me to this wonderful tearoom where everything is beautiful. The decor is a wonderland, the tea beyond compare, the desserts so decadent that you will think that you are in tea paradise. I entered the tearoom in sorrow but found a place to leave that sorrow behind for awhile and indulge myself in a place straight from my childhood fantasies. I want to bring my sister there and look forward to bringing Robin there in kind. If you want to visit someplace far away from the troubles of the day, I highly recommend this wonderful, delicious place.

This is a lovely place with warm, friendly staff. The tea list is huge, the copious food is delish, and the presentation excellent. I'm working to round up some more friends to go back soon!

My sister and I enjoyed our High Tea at this charming venue. I felt relaxed as soon as I sat down due to the garden themed decor. The portion served was just right for the two of us. We will be back!

Our traveling tea group of 6 ladies enjoyed high tea at the Golden Tea Garden. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious! The sandwiches were cut into heart and teapot shapes! The selection of teas is extensive! We all enjoyed watching the flower open up in the blooming tea!

This is truly a special treat. Myself and two friends we treated our daughters (5-8) and one very young gentleman to tea at the Golden Tea Garden. Honestly, the experience transported us to a different time as we leisurely shared in conversation and many different tea selections. The girls were transfixed by the Christmas tree’s decoration. The sandwiches were beautiful cut into ornament shapes, the flavors were diverse and worked well together.
It was more than I expected. Then, we were invited to take the girls upstairs to the parlor. It was all that a Victorian parlor should be and the girls all politely sat and had a sweet conversation.
We can’t wait to go back again and again.

You have to try the sticky toffee pudding. We fell in love with this dessert when we were in Australia/New Zealand. This is the only place we have found where the dessert is authentic and delicious. Everything is delightfully presented. My favorite tea so far is the vanilla chai.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy the company of family and friends, then you must try the Golden Tea Garden. I recently had tea there with my grandaughter, her great grandmother, my daughters and my sister. My granddaughter (age 11) described the afternoon as 'Awesome'.
We were able to select from a large variety of whole leaf and tea bag teas. It was difficult to decide upon a tea, but when we finally made our selections, we were thoroughly satisfied.
The food was very tasty also. We chose to have the Tea and Sandwiches which was satisfying for a light afternoon lunch.
The calm atmosphere with the soft music in the background allowed us to enjoy our family time together and make my granddaughter's visit to California memorable.
The service was EXCELLENT. We were made to feel so special. The professionalism and friendliness of the owner and the staff added tremendously to the whole afternoon.
A visit to the Golden Tea Garden is a must.

From the moment you step into this tearoom you know you are someplace special. To describe this space is to say it is as if a small corner of heaven has dropped down for our enjoyment. Everything about the place is rather unique. The decor, the desserts, the staff and the proprietor, herself. Smiles, unlimited. Service complete and attentive. Do not let this special treat pass you by. Go...go again...and schdule returns often, you will not regret it.

What a TRULY delightful experience! We visited this lovely tea room for a 'girls afternoon' and stayed over 3 hours enjoying the teas, desserts and the SERVICE! Ms Beneba was quite the host, sharing with us various selections and giving great information about each selection. I was able to tour the back area and delight in her vast selections of beautiful tea cups, teapots and the assortments of teas.
OMG the desserts!!!!!! Must try them all!!!! This is my new favorite place. My girlfriends and I plan to attend the many events (movie night, book club, 2 for 1 dessert day, spa night....) This will be my second home!

This is the hands down the best tearoom ever! The service and food were wonderful and we were allowed to sit and enjoy for as long as we wanted. The variety of teas was mind-boggling and each variety was better than the last. It is good to know that there is somewhere in the Bay Area were you can have an excellent 'spot' of tea along with a scrumptous dessert at a reasonable price.

The Golden Tea Garden is the perfect place to go and unwind and feel pampered. The owner is friendly and outgoing with the most charming and bubbly personality. I have been to this lovely tea room several times and I just cannot get enough of it. My college age daughter and I have been as well as all my best buddies and some of my siblings. It is a most enjoyable and relaxing place to be, peaceful and calming. I even took my brother here and the owner cleverly has 'man' tea cups for those bigger hands. I've brought young children as well and Beneba, the owner, even treats the little girls to tiaras and wands with the matching jewelry. What doesn't she do at this lovely tea room? She sends out email monthly newsletters with all the upcoming events, has tea and movie nights, a tea themed boo... This is an outstanding Tea Garden, with an atmosphere filled with soft and smooth music, tasty finger sandwiches, wonderful desserts and outstanding customer service. If anyone is looking for a tea garden in the Bay Area, this one is a must see. The staff at this garden welcomes all comers and I was impressed with my experience. This is a cute and formal place to have a hot or cold tea.

'Life's not fair: let's open a tea room!'

My wife and I had been loyal customers of Antioch's 'Something Treasured' tea room for several years. It set the bar by which we judged other rooms, and after it closed its doors (which was a sad day for Antioch since it was the only culture in that pathetic) little town) we never found any place that lived up to that standard.

With the Golden Tea Garden we have finally found a place that measures up. Our hostess, Beneba, and the rest of the staff offer up much-needed smiles from the moment we arrived. In fact, Beneba has such a bubbly personality it's hard to believe she was once a litigator. Guess she decided the rat race just needed one less rat and that her way of making the world a better place was to open a tea room.

I have been to the Golden Tea Garden three times this year and each time I have experienced good service and consistent good food. I always get the tea and sandwiches, which is plenty. The presentation is very nice. The owner now has monthly events like tea and a movie which is a great idea. The tea selection is unbelievable and vast. I would definitely recommend this place! Also, the champagne cake is the best!

This little tea room on Main St. in Hayward is a peaceful oasis in a hectic world. On each of my visits to this charming establishment, I am swept away to another time and place. The teas available are too many to mention, and I have barely put a dent in trying all the different types available. Each time I go, I get to experience a new taste. I will be hard pressed, after trying all the teas, to choose a favorite, as they are all splendid.
The service is perfect, with the staff willing to tell you about the different teas and menu choices. And those decadent menu options are to die for! They take me back to the time I lived in England and enjoyed an afternoon tea there, but this is better, because it is right in my own town. The owner is a hands on person, greeting any and all who enter this little bit of heaven, willing to let guide them on the tea taste adventure they will be partaking for an afternoon away from the worries and stress of our hectic lives.
