It's been awhile since I posted a review of this fantastic tea room, but since our group goes here several times a year - here we go! First, it's the most affordable of all the tea rooms in the Atlanta area. I'm not sure how the owner, the lovely Kim, can afford to keep her Full Afternoon Tea at $15. It's a steal for all the delicious scones, sandwiches and desserts they provide - not to mention your bottomless pot of tea. I really love the almond flavored cream - it's delicious! Kristin, the chef, is a ball of enthusiasm and gleeful energy. We love seeing her when we visit and she takes great delight in telling us about her latest confections. She's passionate about food and it shows in the fantastic offerings. The tea room also recently extended it's hours to include a breakfast/brunch - which also features some amazingly good food. Definitely worth a try. Overall, this is by far one of my favorite tea rooms in the area and I'm so glad they have enjoyed the success they have. I've also used them at parties in a catering capacity and that was also a huge success. Ask about buying their desserts for your own parties/events. Love this place!!

  • The Vineyard Cafe and Gift Shop

Our monthly tea group decided to try this new to us tearoom this weekend. It is a vast improvement over the old Tiffany's - bright and airy. Not at all stuffy/musty. Food was excellent and plentiful. Tea in the french presses, interesting, but didn't hinder our enjoyment of the blends. What I was very disappointed about was that one of our group was a vegetarian and absolutely nothing was done to accommodate her, despite me calling ahead to let them know. While we all got chicken salad on croissant and ham club sandwiches, she was relegated to tiny cucumber sandwiches. Even the mushroom soup was chicken stock based (which again I talked to the owner about) so she couldn't even have that, but they at least offered a salad. With the varied menu they offer for lunch - I would have thought they could do something more. My friend was more than disappointed and had to get lunch afterward somewhere else after paying $20+ for a full parlor tea. Very disappointed.

    Tearoom response:

I'm sorry you felt that we did not accommodate your friend's requests. As you stated, the food was plentiful. As your request, we exchanged the normal tea service sandwiches with a dozen small cucumber sandwiches and a side salad instead of the soup. In addition, the complete tea service included scones with honey cream, pumpkin crumb cake, cookies and fruit. This seems like more than enough food, but had we known that this was not enough at the time, we could have done something about it. Unfortunately, we cannot cater to every diet request, but feel we did our best. In the future, perhaps ordering off the lunch menu may be more satisfying.

Our monthly tea group revisited the Roswell Tea House last weekend and have yet another lovely time. Great food, tea selection and service. I love the Japanese kettles and their lemon curd is amazing! Great place!

As a warning, this place is not a regular tea room. I just talked to the woman taking reservations to see if myself and a friend could have tea there to scout it as a new place to add to our group's monthly rotation of local tea rooms and was very disappointed to learn it's only for large special event parties, no walk-ins, and they won't serve tea until 2pm despite the hours posted as opening at 11am. Whomever wrote the review about stumbling on this place and enjoying tea did not have the typical experience. Having never been there I cannot comment on their teas, food, decor or service.

  • Mitties Restaurant and Tea Room

My monthly tea group decided to give Mittie's new Roswell location another chance and were glad we did. The tea selection, which was rather lacking in our last visit (bags), was outstanding! Lots of really interesting herbal blends and tissanes. The food was great, the chicken salad was particularly good. Our group was a bit disappointed by the small scones, but again, every tea room is different. The waitress was very accomodating and attentive, even with two huge bridal/baby showers happening around us. Cheers to the new Mittie's!
