On the way to Biltmore accidently saw this on the HWY marker and stopped for lunch. A very pleasant experience. We did not have full afternoon tea but rather, ordered from the luncheon menu. . .very good in every way and so glad we followed the sign and heart to apple cake. The place was well attended and service friendly and timely but not rushed.

This is not a tea room in any manner except by name. The food on the menu sounds appetizing, but on arrival tends to be lackluster. I ordered a salad and the salad dressing appeared to have been watered down to the point that it ran off the lettuce (blue cheese dressing). The style of the restaurant is log cabin country. It is a tea room Daniel Boon would have enjoyed, but not the refinement or elegance that one normally expects of a tea room

This is a definitely misnamed restaurant. It is NOT a tearoom. It's a cute country place to have lunch, but that's it. After reading about it in a book of preferred tearooms, my visiting friend and I drove a couple of hours to get there and were quite disappointed.

This is a wonderful place for lunch in West Knoxville. It is in a log cabin and has a country atmosphere. The food is fantastic, especially the banana bread sandwich (filled with a cream cheese mixture).

My husband and I recently moved back to the Knoxville area from Georgia. We are both professionals while I am currently staying home with our two children (5 yrs and a baby). We went to eat at the Apple Cake Tea Room several times since we moved here and my in laws enjoyed going when they were in town. The first time we went we learned that they only had a hot dog and pbj of which my daughter eats neither so she sat patiently and waited for the grown ups to eat. We have no family here so we recently brought in something for my daughter to eat so that my husband and I could still come to eat at this restaurant. We had done this before as we called and they told us to bring her food with us and we would have to sit in a designated area. After lunch, the waitress informed us that the owner had charged us a fee for our child to eat the food we brought. I went to the owner and she proceeded to tell me how horrible the children make messes in her restaurant with the brought in food and I assumed that is why she charges a fee. She said I will remove the fee this time but you do not know how messy it gets with these children. The owner stated that many children bring in food and I sensed this was irritating to her. I suggested maybe she could expand her children's menu. She stated she cannot please everyone and the fee was nominal. I will not return due to the principal of the matter and it is such a shame since our family enjoyed it previously. I do not feel like the owner or her front-end staff really desires children in their establishment. The reason I state this is due to when we came in and politely stated our daughter brought food as to sit in the designated area, whispering started and I was told it was going to be quite a wait. This critique is for all of us who have children who like more of a choice than a hot dog and pbj and enjoy feeling welcome where we are spending our money.

This is a log cabin. I was so surprised by the decor, but they do have teacups on the walls. The food is very good and I will definitely return, but it is a shock when you are expecting a 'Tea Room'.

I am not sure why this is called a 'Tea Room'. Ok for lunch, but I do not think of this as a place for 'tea'.

Apple Cake Tea Room has been in business over 25 years and remains a wonderful eatery for people desiring a quaint destination for lunch. Wonderful place to celebrate in their upstairs private dining rooms. A true Knoxville tradition. I have enjoyed taking 4 generations of my women in my family there for special lunches. I hope they stay in business for 25 more years!

Great place for a treat!! My girlfriends and I always have our special days here, bridesmaids luncheons and wedding showers, now have moved on to baby showers and mother/daughter lunches. We always enjoy the chicken salad...the best in town!

Not a tea room at all, just a place to have lunch. The food was OK but not food you would have at a real tea room. It was not served as should be for a tea room. Like I said it was an OK place to have lunch. Don't go there expecting to have a tea room experience.

This is a southern tearoom with excellent food and plentiful. The staff is exceptional and friendly. The atmosphere makes you want to stay and talk for hours with your girlfriends as you gaze upon the tea themed decor!!!! A refreshing change from fastpaced dining. I'll be back soon.

A cozy atmosphere. I love the friendship tea served chilled and enjoy the chicken salad or the house special - I always enjoy the cream cheese & spice bread.

This is definately a country style & setting but absolutely charming. I miss going now that I have moved away from knoxville area but anticipate coming back soon & get my cup full of Friendship tea.

Friendship tea is a nice aromatic, citrus / raven spice blend that is served hot or cold but i must say i prefer it cold. Happy steeping everyone!

Not a tea room like the English Rose; however, excellent food! I always get a jar of the Friendship Tea when I leave. My daughter lives in Loudon and we go there several times during the year. She loves the chicken salad, and I always get the sandwich/fruit platter and have to get a go-box.

This is not a typical tea room but it was a lovely afternoon out. The food was great and the service was excellent. We felt very comfortable and relaxed the warm country atmosphere. My daughter is 2 and she loved the 'fancy' peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and fruit. Thank you for a pleasant afternoon!

The Apple Cake Tea Room is really cute. The service is great and so is the food. I been there more than once and will certainly return again and again. It is not your typical tea room to say, but is a nice place for lunch. They have great quiche and the bran muffins and honey butter are to die for. The place is decorated so very cute. All of the food I saw other people receiving looked wonderful too. It is persented so nicely. The chicken salad is great also.

This is not a tea room & shouldn't be in this listing. This is a wonderful restaurant, but absolutely is not a tea room. Try the English Rose in Chattanooga if you want to visit an East Tennessee tea room.

This is a great place to visit, an adorable log cabin. Great food too! The service is great too! My low scores reflect that this is not really a tea room one time that we visited they didn't even have hot tea just ice tea! The food is not traditional tea room food either. Overall a great place to visit just not for tea.
