Best tea room around. Great value and delicious scones and sandwiches. Located in the quaint area of Milton Square in St. Paul. Friendly staff and a huge tea menu. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed my very first tea experience here with my mother in law and two sister in laws today. The food was so delicious and all four of us really enjoyed our tea! It was a bit noisy at first, there were two large groups there when we arrived. But it wasn't too much to distract us. Had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it again!

We attended the 'A Christmas Carol' tea two years ago. During the tea, a young man performed portions of the story. We decided to go again this year and took two children. I specifically asked if there would be the performsnce again this year and was told yes. Also, the website and brochure stated 'Join Ebenezer Scrooge and the Cratchit family for tea' indicating there was a performance. After arriving, we found that there was no performance. The owner was rude and declined to take any responsibility for the misinformation, other than offering a $30.00 store credit which I declined because we will never go back. $40.00 each was way too much for just the tea, and the service was so slow that after two hours we just had the remaining food packed up and left.

      Tearoom response:

We regret that you had an unpleasant experience at our Tea Room and are sorry for any miscommunication that may have occured. We served 102 guests over two weekends this past year at 'A Christmas Carol Tea.' Unfortunately you were the only one who was expecting the actor to return. No such information was posted on our printed literature or on our website. FYI As advertised, we suggest guests allow 2 to 2-1/2 hours for all of our themed events.

After our favorite tearoom (Aprille Showers) closed we were looking for a new place to celebrate special occasions. This is not the place. The price ($30/person) was not appropriate for the amount of food and tea received. I did not like the fact that the teas were chosen for you. The service was neither friendly nor accommodating. In fact, we were asked to leave an hour before the next seating and had to cut our conversations short. Needless to say, noone from our group will be back to Lady Elegant's again.

My mom and I went and enjoyed our time together. It was quiet and the food was great. We even purchased tea afterwards and love it.

We called this tearoom and left a message to get a reservation and no one called back. We drove there and we were told there was a specific time for the seating and it took 15 minutes beyond that posted time to actually be seated. We had already waited 45 minutes. When we were seated, we were placed next to a large party of loud women and could not hear ourselves think. Soup was served to us so hot that they needed towels to handle the plates. The other tables did not get the same superheated plates. We were only told after the food came that they ran out of sandwich material and served us primarily only cucumber. The hostess seemed to be straining to be nice- like she doesn't like people. In summary, they do not return calls, the hostess is unfriendly, they do not meet the scheduled time to seat you, they apparently are ready to take your money before figuring out whether or not they have the food you order. There are many other places to have tea in this area and we will probably try them before considering a return trip.

I have been to your lovely shop many times and brought many friends and relatives there too. I am confident that everyone I bring will LOVE the experience.Your wide variety of teas will please even people who don't usually like tea. Your food is always delicious, your decorating is charming, and your gift shop is great.

I had never been to a tearoom, but after visiting Lady Elegant's for a baby shower I will definitely keep it in mind for future events. I might even take my mom and sisters for a fun 'family' outing. It was delightful and a very interesting experience (I rarely use the word delightful, but that's exactly what it was). Try the French Vanilla decaf - yummy!!

I love, love, love this tea room. I am a tea novice admittedly, but I cannot imagine a better tea experience than at Lady Elegant’s. The service is excellent and they are more than willing to answer any of your questions or help you pick the perfect tea for your mood. What better way to spend a good chat with a friend than in this relaxed elegance with beautiful, delicious food and a good cup of tea?

A friend and I stopped for lunch. It's a lovely tea room, decorated with soft colors, nicely lit and comfortable. We loved it! The food was wonderfully delicious! We had great service. We were welcomed with simles and when we asked questions about the different teas the associate was very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed shopping the little gift shop. They offer a great selection of Tea Time books and fun tea related gifts! It was an enjoyable experience. We will be back! Thank you!

My mother and I attended the Dicken's theme tea in early December. The food was excellent and well-matched to the details of the book A Christmas Carol. The soup starter was particularly delicious. Three unique holiday teas were offered and each was perfectly brewed and flavorful. It was nice that we were able to try each kind rather than have to choose just one of the three. Our server was outgoing, friendly, and informative. Joshua Peterson also did a fantastic job performing. Another wonderful visit to one of our favorite tea houses!

The first visit to this tea room (a tea service for 5) was excellent, leading to the purchase of a gift certificate. However, the recipient of the gift certificate only travels through the Twin Cities and so could not use the gift certificate in the alotted time (one year). As a result, the gift certificate was not honored. None of the $25 value, not even partial credit minus some administrative fee (a typical compromise), was honored. The $25 was simply added to the shop's coffers. Regrettable.

I have been here twice: once in the store only and once in both the store and the parlor. I have to say I was terribly disappointed in the employees', including the owner's, attitude. While the food and tea were excellent, the employees were very cold. We had hoped it would be simular to Madd Hatters and the White Bear room but the service and personality there was far superior to Lady Elegants. I really wish it would have been different for us because we live so close. I would rather drive the half hour for a smile.

      Tearoom response:

We regret that you were unhappy with the service in our shoppe. It certainly is our desire that each guest has a pleasant experience while visiting us much as if you were visiting our home. We hope you will try us again.

Crabby. Lost it's charm....store is empty.

      Tearoom response:

We would never offend one of our customers by being crabby. Our desire is to serve you and make your visit a pleasant one. We add new merchandise to our shoppe on a weekly basis. Sorry we didn't have what you were looking for.

Please, please, please....offer some things that are not raspberry....Or at least don't look at my like I'm crazy when I ask if you have anything that isn't to substitute!

      Tearoom response:

Our menu changes monthly and our desserts change more often than that. Sorry if we had too many raspberries for you. Please forgive our server if she did not understand your question. We don't wish to have any of our guests feel uncomfortable.

I have visited this tea room four times and have enjoyed each visit. Of the many tea rooms I've been too, I would rate their scones the best. Their menu of teas is extensive and their knowledge of each is superb. Every food item from sandwich to salad I have tried is equally as good. Pay them a visit and you won't regret it.

Truly an elegant tearoom. Atmosphere is a major plus, the food is excellent and the attention to detail was truly pampering ie) ceramic tea name cards on each pot of tea, cloth napkins and tablecloths, warmed moistened fingertip towels. The gift shop is one of the best I've been to, lots of variety and one could buy a lovely teapot for a reasonable price.

Had a very lovely tea lunch at Lady Elegants recently. Their presentation was great, right down to the scented hot towel delivered after we were finished eating. The triple chocolate scone was one of the best I've had. It's making me hungry just thinking about it! I'll definately be back!

This is what a Tea Room should be! The decor was tasteful without being overdone. The Parlor Tea we ordered was delicious and beautifully prepared. Our hostess, the owner, was gracious and accommodating. Remember to bring Lady Visa and Master Card with you when you visit the Gift Shoppe next door. It’s worth the trip just to see all the wonderful and unique tea accoutrements for sale.
