Enjoyed our lunch and visit at the tearoom today,and the Apple Dumpling was super yummy. The cute gift shop made for some fun shopping. Because it was a hot day, we opted for iced drinks instead of hot tea- so cannot comment on the preparation or offerings today.

Taylor and Soapes is the best tearoom and gift shop in Illinois! They have awesome foods and a variety of fine and various homemade desserts. If you haven't visited, you need to! This tearoom treats you like family!!

The beautiful tearoom/gift shop is in an historic Mt. Olive bank building, with some of the restored original features. Spring green/hot pink is the color theme in the tearoom. Tea is served in very unique tea cups/with matching spoons. Salads are served in plate size hot pink bowls. The desserts are worth the drive there!! The food is prepared/served by a friendly, courteous staff. The atmosphere is very quiet/calming and a nice place to shop/relax, enjoy the surroundings.
