I have no other words for this place other than LOVELY. It was an enjoyable high tea. The ambiance was great. The kitschy shoppe was greatly appreciated. The tea was delicious and overall it is a great place for a tea time for two or small get together.

This is a lovely little place. The food is excellent and the service is great. I know it's closed now due to COVID, but am really hoping it will survive and reopen after the pandemic. Going to afternoon tea is one of life's little pleasures and this place is a gem!

I have been here twice with friends and we all find it quite charming. The service is very good, as is the food. Each person gets their own choice and pot of tea. The prices are very reasonable. This small town provides ample free public parking and there are several antique shops to browse near the restaurant. This is a pleasant experience and I look forward to going again.

Visited several times and came away unfortunately disappointed. Another customer asked fr more hot water for her teapot and theaters said there would be a charge. My chicken or tuna salad sandwich (could notice the difference) was huge filled with perhaps 1' of filling and made to hold in 2 hands(crusts not cut off). One of the 'specialty desserts was a store-bought cookie that supposedly was popular on an airline. In fact, it had its brand name stamped on it. Actually, the cookie was perhaps better than the rest of the food. The waitress came to my table (I was the only one in the teashop) without a menu and asked me, 'What do you want?' Err.. huh? I have been there several times hoping that my few experiences were flukes. Unfortunately, they were not.

This is one of my favorite places to have afternoon tea. The tea room is a space in the middle of an antique shop which makes for a fun ambiance. There are hats and feather boas to dress up in. The pricing is fair and the quality of the food is very good, freshly made in the open kitchen off to one side of the tea seating area. Teas are loose-leaf, mostly flavored blends, but some unflavored, like English Breakfast. The service has always been excellent; in fact, the service here is superior to the service I've received multiple times at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose! It's a great place to go when you're in Niles visiting the antique shops, or the Silent Film Museum, or the Railroad Museum, or anything else in the area.

My family loves going to this fantastic tea room! This place has the best scones of any tea room we've been to, and the rest of the high tea selections are amazing as well. The servers are always very friendly, and the setting of the tea room in a little antique shop gives the perfect ambiance for tea time. We will definitely keep coming back!

I truly loved this place the ladies were wonderful to talk to and the food was amazing. The had larger tea sandwich a varity differnt then most tea house and that was refreshing. I have always dislike chicken salad sandwiches and when I tried theirs I would have to say after many tea house that I am a chicken salad fan. This place is on a street with many fun stores to explore and wander through for a great afternoon. This one is now one of my favorites.

This was just an OK place to have tea. Nothing to write home to mother about. The food was again just average. The chicken salad sandwich was way to large and very dry. The desserts were purchased at the local store. Nothing was great and nothing was really bad. Would I go back again………………maybe?

Tyme for tea is one of the best kept secrets in the Bay Area. I have been to every tea room within a 75 mile radius, and I can definitely say that Tyme for Tea is the very best. The location is set in an antiques shop in Niles, which gives it a very charming setting. Scones are to die for, simply amazing, and they are served first, with lemon curd, jam, and cream. I really enjoy the process here, where everything is done very leisurely. Then out comes your 3 tiered tray of sandwiches, savories and desserts. Unlike some other places, the sandwiches here are very filling and delicious, plus there are several hot savories. the menu items seem to change seasonally. for desserts, there are usually a number of petit fours, cookies, etc. or you can also order fruit instead.

The decor is very well done. pink tablcloths on the tables with fresh flowers and little lamps. Each setting is done mix and match style, so each person gets their own teacup. It's really well done!

Tyme for Tea is the best tea room in the Bay Area. They are located in a quaint little area of Fremont called Niles, and half the shop is an antiques store, so it has a cozy, comfy country charm to it. They offer 1 victorian tea, with scones that are super delicious and freshly made lemon curd and cream. After you've finished that, they bring out the 3 tiered tray of tea sandwiches and desserts. They are often refilling tea pots and the service is great. You can also order champagne with your tea for special occasions. They have a large selection of teas to choose from, and all the plates and tea cups are somewhat mismatched, it's lots of fun.

Everything a tearoom should be! The food was some of the best and the scones were freshly baked. Their warm savories were delicious. We wish they would have had a better selection of decaf teas. Service couldn't get much better. We would highly recommend this tearoom for a delightful tea experience and we plan to return for another visit.

Tyme for Tea is a treat for me. I've invited my mom, m-i-l, employees and friends several times over the years and consistently enjoyed a delightful experience. I've found the quality and service to be as good as any tea room I've visited - and better than many. To me, the food is the highlight. I find the small-town, homey environment more comfortable than most upscale tea rooms.

Tyme for Tea is a real gem among tea rooms in the Bay Are. located in Niles, a quaint little community with lots of antique shops, Tyme for Tea is actaully located within an antiques store, it's very charming. You have a great selection of loose leaf teas to choose from, I got the house blend which was excellent. After your pot of tea comes out, they bring a scone just warm from the oven. The scones are to die for, served with lemon curd and some sort of mock devonshire cream. They relly allow you to take your time here, watching until you are ready for the next course to come out. Then comes the sandwiches & sweets. It's an assortment of cucumber, chicken salad and other finger foods. It's delicious, and the server came to refil my pot several times, never rushing me. You can also order a glass of champagne if you like. Overall, this is a great place, they have been around a long time and have many loyal customers. And the teacups are gorgeous!

Tyme for Tea and Co. is located in the middle of the 'original Hollywood', so it's a great place to have that old time feel. They don't have a semi-large variety of tea, but my all time favorite is the 'Tyme for Tea Blend'. I've also tasted their Apple Green Tea (can't remember the name) and it tastes like apple cider.

The sandwiches needs a bit work, and can be inconsistent. I'm very picky with my bread, and I've come to Tyme for Tea and had really dry bread as if it were made the day before but also had fresh tasting ones, too. I've also had times where my scone was nice and warm but days when it was also semi-warm and a bit cold.

Tea Prep: I wish the dishes weren't so unmatched

Service: Hit or miss. I've had really cheerful waitresses but I've also had very young and inexperienced ones, too.

We had my mother's bridal shower at a Thyme for Tea a few years ago (I think there is an 'h' in thyme). It is in the 'old town' area of Fremont, adding to the ambiance. The tea room itself was absolutely beautiful! It is a blend of elegance, fantasy, and shabby-chic (though I realize all three are very different!).

I remember the tea service to be pretty average. The sandwiches and hot pastries were nice (but nothing to write home about) and there was a meager tea list.

Mismatching cups and saucers make the tea room have an antique, homey feel. I prefer newer, matching china; it looks more clean and classy.

The server was great! She checked to make sure out pots were always full. It was fun to have different 'courses' come out at different times. First the tea, then some cookies, then hot pastries, and so on. I don't know if they only do that for parties or if the courses are typical for their afternoon tea service.

I haven't been back since, but I do plan to in the near future! We had a lovely time having tea and enjoying the company of family and friends.

I have been to this tea room several times and each time have been very pleased. The food is very good consisting of tea sandwiches and pastries/scones. Their teas are loose leaf brewed in a pot brought to your table. Their house tea is delightful and they have a good selection of other teas as well. The atmosphere is English/ English garden and a good place to chat with a friend. They also have hats to enhance your experience if you so choose. The service is usually very good although if it is busy it can be a little slow.

4 adults, one 6-year-old, all pleased. The Victorian tea is quite filling if heavy on puff pastry; the Children's tea has pb&j (hurrah!), one tea sandwich (eaten by mom), chocolate chip scone, and a cupcake (and more stuff). Good petit fours, muffiny scones (not traditional biscuitty ones). Tea came in big pots (several cuppas), one for each type (but they were out of Darjeeling). The waitress cheerfully brought 5 different pots. Good service, lots of cute stuff to look at and buy. Small quilt/yarn store across the street, too.

My husband and I visited this tea room while antique shopping in Niles yesterday and had a very nice experience. I liked the tub with the hats. It made me feel more dressed up for tea since I was in jeans out shopping. The service was friendly but rushed because they were shorthanded. I must say with many visits to other tea rooms that their scones were some of the best I have tasted. The atmosphere was pleasant and the music lovely. The food is presented with a complete description of each item. This is sometimes missing in some tea rooms. The whole meal was good considering they have a limited kitchen. I would return and bring friends.

Had a good experience today! The Tea room has been 'spruced up a bit since my last visit. There are some new chairs (much more comfortable!) some new decor, new hats, new china, friendly staff and some new menu items. I enjoyed the strawberry & cucumber sandwich. The desserts, while ok, could use an update as well. Over all a good experience today! Thanks Jessica & staff. :)

My Mother and I just visited this Tea Room and we found it to be quite fun. It is set in an antique shop so you can shop after or before you have tea. I have visited several tea rooms in the Bay Area recently, and Tyme for Tea is located on a street known for its antique shops. The first thing I noticed about this tea room was the energy within the place. Unlike some rooms I have visited where the customers tend to eat in relative silence, the customers here were talking, laughing, and having a wonderful time. Some people even borrowed one of the many hats available in the room, and took photos with them. Although I enjoyed the atmosphere, I cannot say the same for the food. The savories looked like they came from the frozen food section at Trader Joe’s or Costco. The desserts were good, but for the price you pay they were rather small in size. The sandwiches were probably the best thing offered. All in all, I would say that if you happen to be antique shopping and want a bite to eat, Tyme for Tea is worth a visit. However, if you are specifically in search of a tea room to visit, this would not be my top suggestion

I have been frequenting Thyme for Tea for many years. The quality of food has slowly deteriorated. Stale bread, desserts that are partially frozen and over-brewed tea. I just visited over the weekend and was told there has been a change in ownership, but that didn't seem to improve things. I don't plan on going back unless I hear there's been an improvement.

Our tea club has been together 10 plus years. It was a 1 1/2 hour drive for us. We found the ambience of the tea room very nice but the tea itself lacked many customary expectations, the first being there was no water offered, we had to ask. While many of the savories were tasty, very little on the menu was freshly made. One of our group opted not to have the full tea but to have a scone and a slice of cheesecake instead. The cheesecake was still frozen when presented to her. It was brought to the attention of the staff and she was offered a sandwich as replacement. It took forever and us asking twice before it was finally brought. The filling was also nearly to the point of being frozen. None of the sweets were fresh, all were store purchased and most were also still partially frozen. The price was way to steep for what we received. The tea choice was limited but it was served very hot and staff checked several times during the meal to be sure it remained that way. I don't think we will return.

I have been going to this Tea room for about 5-7 years. I still love it. It's warm and friendly. A few of the things are bought, and a couple of the desserts had not been defrosted quite enough, but all in all still one of my favorites. I do however think that perhaps there should be a childs menu as are many other tea rooms. I took two families, with three small children and thought the $20.00 tea was too pricey for the little ones.Owner delightful, staff friendly and helpful. Will continue going back, with adults. I have had tea at various locations throughout California--from the St. Francis in San Francisco, to the Tea Cozy in Cambria, to (most recently) the Victorian Manor Tea Room in Orange and many places in between. Today I had tea at Tyme for Tea again and once again the experience surpassed any that I have had at any other tea room I have visited. While other tea rooms usually have one or two sandwiches or pastries that are very good, everything at Tyme for Tea is excellent. I have never found the owner to be anything but cordial and friendly; even when she is very busy, she always stops to chat. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and the tea room itself is charming. I highly recommend Tyme for Tea.

I went to Tyme for Tea with 3 friends over the weekend, and we had the best of time. We each ordered our own choice of tea, they are all freshly brewed from tea leaves. As part of the Victorian Tea, we got a scone, tea sandwiches and pastries, they are delicious and very filling. I’ve visited many tea rooms on the West Coast, Tyme for Tea is always on the top of my list. The décor is delightful. I can’t wait to go back during the holiday in December.

After our tea, we walked down Nile Street and visited the antique shops. We had such a wonderful time, we stayed past 5 p.m. A perfect afternoon with a great start at Tyme for Tea!
