Chocolate Angel (3 reviews)
The Chocolate Angel Cafe and Tea Room has lovely decor and outdoor seating area. The service was excellent and attentive, and plenty of tea offered (though you don't choose which flavor). Otherwise my Afternoon Tea experience was disappointing. There were two small dessert sized plates, first with a half of a pimento sandwich, 2 small round cucumber open faced sandwiches, 1 mini quiche, 1 mini ham/cheese pastry, 1 tiny chicken salad in a pastry shell, 1 small scone and a small cup of fresh fruit. Next, 4 small pieces of dessert all about 2 inches by 2 inches at most: chocolatecake , white chocolate covered ?, a lemon square (I think but I tasted no lemon), and one other I can't recall. The important thing to note is that all were - small- very small, especially for $19.99. There are some amazing places to eat in Dallas for that price, portions big enough to necessitate a doggy bag. After visiting dozens of tea rooms and having worked in restaurants for years, I've become increasingly disappointed in a trend I'm seeing... prices going up and portions going way down, and especially in afternoon tea service.
A fantastic place to enjoy quality house tea
the tea was bad given to me in a bag in a tea pot with no lid. Service was horrid and the food was lackluster.
