Golden Tea Garden
My husband and I (yes, he likes tea rooms too - I'm so lucky!) literally stumbled onto this wonderful little tea room in Hayward one day. It was lunchtime so we stayed to try it. WOW!! Everything including the service was wonderful. The little tea sandwiches are even cookie-cutter cut into the shape of a teapot. The attention to beautiful details in the table service and the ambiance is remarkable. The tea selections are copious, even including 'blooming teas' which unfold into bouquets before your eyes. The sandwiches and sweets are yummy. You can even pick out a hat to wear while you are in the 'garden.' (No, my husband didn't wear one!) We've been back several times since that first day and have even taken our little granddaughter who was in 7th heaven when they brought her a little tiara and a wand. She keeps it on her nightstand to remind her of our grand time at tea. We've been to many tea rooms around the world, including London, and this one holds its own with the best of them.
