Tea Chai Te
I discovered this little tea place on NW 23rd when I returned to the Portland area from my time in Santa Fe and London. I mention this because Tea Chai Te exemplifies the sort of careful preparation and thoughtful presentation that I remember from my time abroad, and that I never thought I would see Stateside. They have a wonderful staff, quiet and warm space (wonderful for curling up with a hot tea in winter) and a wide range of current international magazines for customer reading pleasure. Their organic Assam is the best I've had in years and the staff is gorgeous and friendly. I highly recommend.
