I have had a tough time finding a decent, convenient tea place in San Diego, and I was delighted to come across this place, so please forgive the rather long review! They have a great selection of teas and other merchandise, in an open and welcoming environment. The sample size bags are perfect if you want to get a few options to try, I love a variation and it was proving too difficult to decide. I ended up with Passion Fruit (Rooibos and Honeybush), California Sunshine (fruit/herbal), Mango Sorbet (white), Vietnamese (black), and a berry black tea that I cannot recall the name of. I'm a big Rooibos fan, so that was the first one I tried and I wasn't disappointed! It had a very light fruity/floral flavor, without distracting from the earthiness of the Rooibos. A perfect tea for snuggling up with a book, which is exactly what I did when I first brewed it! For my morning pick me up I opted for the Vietnamese, it is very rich and robust, without the bitterness that I find some straight black teas to have. I especially liked it with just a bit of almond milk added. On mornings when I am more relaxed, the berry one has just the perfect amount of sweetness to compliment the deeper flavor of the black tea, and the pleasant floral fragrance is an added bonus. If I am being weirdly specific, this would be my ideal tea for drinking at sunrise on a cold/snowy winter morning. And the Mango Sorbet and California Sunshine are both serving me well as iced teas for hot days, they are extremely refreshing and definitely do not require any sweetener or anything else added since the flavors are so vibrant. I think I love the California Sunshine more of the two, the hibiscus really stands out among the flavors and I especially notice the hints of orange and tangerine underneath. The subtlety of the sweet and tart flavors give it a bit more depth than a lot of other fruitier teas, and I like that it isn't overpowering. The Mango Sorbet is a tad smoother, it doesn't have that tartness that the other has but rather a much lighter flavor. I really enjoyed all of the ones I tried, I will definitely be heading back in for some refills, and to try some new flavors!
