The Talking Teacup
This was about our 6th time visiting this tearoom and although we have enjoyed it before, this visit was a letdown. The tea was very weak and when I requested it be brewed longer, I was given an attitude. My teenager was given a teapot which leaked all over the place and was told it was a drippy droppy teapot. This should have been replaced. Two members of our party ordered the same tea and we were given attitude that they each wanted their own teapot. The food was nowhere near as good as usual. The tastes they put together in the sandwiches were not complementary flavors. The desserts also were unimaginative, a small piece of cake, 1' x 1', a tiny cheesecake and a cookie. I was unaccustomed to getting such a small amount of food. All members of my party felt the same way. It was as though we were a bother versus an opportunity to make money, especially in this economy. If we cannot get reservations at our preferred tea house, we will just choose to stay home. It is to expensive a lunch to leave hungry. I don't know if they just had a bad day, but the service and food this day were abominable. I hope they step it up in the future.
