Elise's Tea Room
I took my almost six year old daughter to tea at Elise's today. It was our first visit and will absolutely not be the last. Elise was so welcoming and the food and tea were wonderful. The menu consists of more than just tea sandwiches and scones, and includes salads and soups (today it was butternut squash as well as an asparagus soup). They also have a generous ala carte menu. I had a chicken curry salad on greens with pecans, bleu cheese, mandarin oranges and a light drizzle of dressing and it was fabulous! The pot of chamomile tea was just right. My daughter ordered the Child's Tea which consisted of a nice sized heart shaped pb&j, a pot of tea (she chose spearmint which was excellent) and a chocolate chip cookie. She also ordered a chocolate chip scone a la carte which came with jam, marmalade and cream on the side. The decor is lovely, formal and feminine, yet the ambiance is very friendly. Best of all, the tea was outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. I've already told a friend and we plan to take our daughters in the next couple of weeks. I'm also hoping to attend one of the themed teas, which includes live entertainment. An example is an upcoming Mary Poppins tea and another featuring songs from Chicago. Sounds like great fun! I have finally found the tea house for showers, special mother daughter dates, and even just a quick bite for lunch!
