Food: There is simply no other experience like taking tea at Miss Spenser's. Not only are their teas fabulous, the presentation of the meal is exquisitely elegant and Donna and Spenser Hardin make everyone feel at ease with their warm hospitality. But what no other tea room will ever be able to recreate is the one-of-a-kind performances by Miss Spenser. This beautiful and charming young woman is an entertainer at heart, who delights her guests with monologues by characters that vary from an Irish woman named Mary McGrady to a New Jersey Elvis Presley fan! Food: I went to the Victorian Ghost story tea. It was so beautiful in the new tea room and some of the guests were dressed in their Halloween finery which made every thing even more fun. This tea room has such beautiful designs and wonderful food and tea, that I could live there. If you haven't tried Miss Spenser's Special Teas, sign up today! You will love it and be sure to buy some of the various teas or tea accessories. I have a tea basket at work now so I can brew my single cup of Miss Spenser's tea and relax in the afternoon. Food: Miss Spenser's is simply wonderful. My first visit was with my daughter's girl scout trip. We had a wonderful time. I then had to take my other daughter and mom along with a couple close friends and their daughters to the Titanic tea. It was absolutely amazing. Donna and Miss Spenser are wonderful and very talented. They make you feel so very welcome. The tea and all the food is wonderful!! we look forward to coming back and seeing the new addition. Food: I attended the special Christmas tea with my daughter (age 9), niece (age 10), mother-in-law and another 9 year old friend of the girls' and we had a wonderful time. The girls were made to feel welcome and comfortable and Donna graciously accommodated their tastes by making a few adjustments to the menu just for them. Miss Spenser is a lovely young woman with a flare for story telling. This will become a holiday tradition for my girls and me! |

Food: What a beautiful tea room! The room is elegant and classy, formal and casual all at once. One would feel comfortable at an event in any attire. Perfect way to celebrate the Christmas season--and Mrs. Cratchit did a fabulous job of retelling the Christmas Carol. The tea room is a quiet place, but in a comfortable way; the food is superb. The menu included a hot main course as well as several tea-time treats (including cranberry relish, scones with cream and lemon curd, and several seasonal cookies and cakes). The presentation of everything was excellent and well prepared; the hostesses, Miss Spenser and Lady Donna, were cordial and welcoming and learned each name before the program began. I would highly recommend anyone go to this cozy spot--but especially nice for moms or grandmas and daughters! |

Food: Saturday was my first visit to your newly-expanded tea room and it is absolutely beautiful! It's obvious that much attention and care went into the design and decor; it has all the charm of the former location but is more spacious and comfortable. Food: I can't tell you enough how WONDERFUL and UNIQUE Miss Spenser's Teas are. There is nothing that compares. Every visit surpasses my expectations. The Alice and Wonderland Tea was lots of fun. The table settings were all elaborately themed and very colorful. Spenser was very convincing as Alice and Zach (Donna's son) was the wacky Mad Hatter who had lots of magic up his sleeves. Donna enlightened us about Lewis Carroll and filled our tummies with delicious food chosen appropriately for the theme of the tea. My sister, nieces and I had a great time. As well as making hats for the contest, we decided to go in full costume as characters from Alice and Wonderland. We were THRILLED to win some of Donna's delicious cookie mixes. We can't wait until our next visit. |

Food: The Gone with the Wind theme for the food and entertainment was fashionable and in good taste.The tea served was a loose leaf Peach Speacialty brewed to perfection, a wide variety of food served, Tara's Sweet Potato/Pear Soup was a favorite along with the Sweet Chicken Salad Crioissant. The pasteries were perfect for the occassion and went very well with the Tea. We enjoyed the flawless performance of 'Miss Scarlett and enjoyed the Harpist as well. Miss Spenser was dressed in a wedding gown that could have been Meg's. The food and the tea was excellent. The atmosphere and decor was very appropriate to the Victorian time period. We had a great time and was a memorable experience. |

Food: The artistic and creative talents of both Miss Donna and Miss Spenser never cease to AMAZE me. The Victorian Wedding Tea was delightfully entertaining as well as enlightening. It was fun to learn about Victorian wedding customs and superstitions. The lovely display of Antique wedding gowns from the early 1900's was Beautiful. I love how everything is always decorated in the theme of the tea and the menu is always chosen to compliment the theme. The champagne cake was heavenly. As usual Miss Spenser's acting was flawless. She is always able to convince us that she is the character she is portraying. I am hoping my schedule works out so I can attend the Alice In Wonderland tea. |

There were 2 kinds of lovely tea, yummy tea food (how do you make those wonderful scones?), and the entertainment was fantastic. I love literary performances by the many-talented Spenser. Lady Donna and Miss Spenser are so welcoming and friendly, you'd think you're in your own home rather than a tea room. Food: I have been to this tearoom many times and it is always a wonderful and unique experience. The food is presented beautifully and is heavenly to eat. The tea is always whole leaf, plentiful and a new variety especially chosen to go with the theme of the tea. Donna and Spenser spend a lot of time researching the theme of each tea. Donna shares historical or other information and Spenser performs a wonderful portrayal of one or more characters. It is unlike any other tearoom I have ever been to. Food: A wonderful outing for my daughter, d.i.l. and two granddaughters. We had such a lovely time in a beautiful setting with good food served beautifully. I especially appreciated having a choice between lunch or full tea experience as especially the girls enjoyed the formal tea with sandwiches, scones and sweets. Food: The food is tasty and delightful. The tea is wonderful. It is hard to say which tea is my favorite. I love them all. The artistry of Miss Spencer is excellent. Her imagination and her costumes are excetional. Donna and Spenser have put together an outstanding tearoom. I call this the optimal 'tea experience' A heartfelt 'Thank You' for your orginality and dedication to every detail. I look forward to coming again. |

Food: I have found or I should say God has led me to a jewel tucked away in the rolling hills of New Virginia Iowa. Where a fresh pot of tea, good souls, even good cows and chickens welcome you. Food: The Apricot/Peach ice tea was excellent, and I enjoyed the Ceylong with the Valentine sugar! The sweet potator and pear bisque was quite enjoyable and my favorite sandwhich was the Peachy Melba Croissant, I thought I tasted a bit of almond? And of course one can never go wrong with double chocolate borwnies! The tables were beautiful the piano and harp music entertaining as was Miss Spencer's reading of the love letters. I have suggested to many of my friends they would enjoy a day in the country at Miss Spencer's Tea. |

Food: I had no idea what to expect when my friend invited me to join the Red Hats for Miss Spenser's Love Letter Tea. However, I'd seen ads about the tea room in our local paper and was very curious! I have to say that the tea was truly a delightful event in a beautiful country setting! The food was delicious and so gracefully served. We enjoyed the musical talent of Ms. Spenser and her brother, and the dramatization by Ms. Spenser of love letters from the past. I would love to return! |
