Variety: What a wonderful experience to attend Miss Spencer's Tea Room with such tasty food and tea, and beautiful harp music by Spencer. It was wonderful to be there with 2 of my classmates, and sister of one of them. The atmosphere was wonderful for our visit also. I'm certain Virginia will get us to return in 2010. |

I was there with special people, and the details that went into our tea experience made for a great day. Both ladies are extremely warm and talented and really put themselves out there to make sure everyone has a rewarding experience. Variety: Saturday was my first visit to your newly-expanded tea room and it is absolutely beautiful! It's obvious that much attention and care went into the design and decor; it has all the charm of the former location but is more spacious and comfortable. The tea of the day was a perfect companion to the delicious treats. What a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family, accompanied by Spenser's harp music. It's hard to believe that Miss Spenser's just keeps getting better and better, but it's true. |

Variety: I can't tell you enough how WONDERFUL and UNIQUE Miss Spenser's Teas are. There is nothing that compares. Every visit surpasses my expectations. The Alice and Wonderland Tea was lots of fun. The table settings were all elaborately themed and very colorful. Spenser was very convincing as Alice and Zach (Donna's son) was the wacky Mad Hatter who had lots of magic up his sleeves. Donna enlightened us about Lewis Carroll and filled our tummies with delicious food chosen appropriately for the theme of the tea. My sister, nieces and I had a great time. As well as making hats for the contest, we decided to go in full costume as characters from Alice and Wonderland. We were THRILLED to win some of Donna's delicious cookie mixes. We can't wait until our next visit. |

Variety: The Gone with the Wind theme for the food and entertainment was fashionable and in good taste. The tea served was a loose leaf Peach Speacialty brewed to perfection, a wide variety of food served, Tara's Sweet Potato/Pear Soup was a favorite along with the Sweet Chicken Salad Crioissant. The pasteries were perfect for the occassion and went very well with the Tea. We enjoyed the flawless performance of 'Miss Scarlett and enjoyed the Harpist as well. Variety: Our book club read Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Miss Spenser's Tea Room served food that was in the book and gave a recitation from Meg about her wedding. Miss Spenser was dressed in a wedding gown that could have been Meg's. The food and the tea was excellent. The atmosphere and decor was very appropriate to the Victorian time period. We had a great time and was a memorable experience. |

Variety: The artistic and creative talents of both Miss Donna and Miss Spenser never cease to AMAZE me. The Victorian Wedding Tea was delightfully entertaining as well as enlightening. It was fun to learn about Victorian wedding customs and superstitions. The lovely display of Antique wedding gowns from the early 1900's was Beautiful. I love how everything is always decorated in the theme of the tea and the menu is always chosen to compliment the theme. The champagne cake was heavenly. As usual Miss Spenser's acting was flawless. She is always able to convince us that she is the character she is portraying. I am hoping my schedule works out so I can attend the Alice In Wonderland tea. |

Variety: I went to Miss Spenser's Victorian Bridal tea this month, and what a treat! There were 2 kinds of lovely tea, yummy tea food (how do you make those wonderful scones?), and the entertainment was fantastic. I love literary performances by the many-talented Spenser. Lady Donna and Miss Spenser are so welcoming and friendly, you'd think you're in your own home rather than a tea room. The tea tray is beautifully presented and the food is worthy of the presentation. Thanks again for a soothing, inspiring tea day. Looking forward to July so I can come back to your gracious home. |

Our experience was far beyond our expectations and our expectations were high. The warm welcome, the beautifully set table, the delicious food and tea ... all were absolutely perfect. Variety: Having never been to a tea room I was quite impressed with the whole thing. I was worried it would be to fancy and uncomfortable for me, but quite the opposite. The atmosphere was very calming and welcoming and the hostesses were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious as well as the teas. The program was wpectacular and Miss Spencer is a jewel. This young lady with her demeanor and grace should be commended as it is very hard in todays society to meet such a polite and heartwarming young person with such talent. Variety: We were a captive audience at the Titanic Tea, as Donna and Miss Spenser lead us into history. The props were artistry used within the program, leaving you feeling as though you'd been on the Titanic. The smoke flavored tea was perfect for the program which Miss Spenser perfectly presented. Look forward to many more Teas at Miss Spenser's where pampered best describes the hospitality. |

Variety: I have been to this tearoom many times and it is always a wonderful and unique experience. The food is presented beautifully and is heavenly to eat. The tea is always whole leaf, plentiful and a new variety especially chosen to go with the theme of the tea. Donna and Spenser spend a lot of time researching the theme of each tea. Donna shares historical or other information and Spenser performs a wonderful portrayal of one or more characters. It is unlike any other tearoom I have ever been to. I always leave feeling so relaxed, pampered and welcomed. |

Variety: The thing that sets this tea room apart from all the rest I have been to is the charm of Miss Spenser and her performances portraying some character that goes along with the tea like the portrayal of Karen Blixen during the Out of Africa Tea and a 19th Century Lass during the Irish Tea and I look forward to her portrayal of Meg from Little Women when I return for the June Wedding themed tea. This special treat makes this tearoom a must to visit. A little out of the way and off the beaten path but definitely worth the effort. You will cherish the experience for weeks to come. Variety: A wonderful outing for my daughter, d.i.l. and two granddaughters. We had such a lovely time in a beautiful setting with good food served beautifully. I especially appreciated having a choice between lunch or full tea experience as especially the girls enjoyed the formal tea with sandwiches, scones and sweets. It seemed a long drive to get there, but the drive home was short. The countryside is so beautiful that it is worth the drive. A special treat was Spenser playing her harp for us. She is so talented. |

The sweet potator and pear bisque was quite enjoyable and my favorite sandwhich was the Peachy Melba Croissant, I thought I tasted a bit of almond? Variety: My wife and I are big fans of tea and tea houses.. I booked the Merry Ole'English Tea for my wife to give us a little get away from kids. It was amazing. Its a most inviting, and family affair, with the music, tea, and delicious treats. Their presentation of the food, the tea in which we had a Wassail, a Ceylon, and Holiday- all custom blends and very tasty. Finally the telling of the story from Mrs Crachitts view was very unique and well done. Guys, boyfriends, husbands, listen up---if want to have a great time and get some points you have come here. Don't worry you WILL enjoy yourself! Tea rooms are not just for woman! Definitely want to come back for more! |

Variety: I am truly amazed at Miss Spenser's talents. She plays beautiful music, acts out numerous characters in the theme with the tea, sews her own costumes, and now has this great accent going for the Dickens Christmas Tea. My niece and I had such a great time and we anticipate the fun for weeks! The food and tea are just fantastic and Donna's home is so well decorated for all occasions. It is obvious that these ladies truly enjoy having company come to their home and making their guests feel like part of the family. The warmth I experienced at the Dickens Tea just made the hustle and bustle of the season go away and I could relax and reflect on the spirit of Christmas itself. |

Variety: The Merry Ole' English Tea was awesome. What a treat to hear Miss Spenser's monologue of Mrs. Cratchit. How fun it was to spend the afternoon with my 8-year old niece, enjoying a tea party together. This was my second visit to Miss Spenser's and I am looking forward to visiting again in February. I continue to be amazed by the talents these two women poosess, and the hospitality is unbeatable. Cheers! |

Variety: I had the privilege of attending a Holiday Tea today. It was a delightful Saturday afternoon outing, perfect in every way. At first, I was not sure I could identify which part of the tea that impressed me most. The entertainment was polished, perfected and professional; the menu was researched and the food was top-notch in both taste and presentation; the setting was homey, and at the same time, elegant. But at the end of the day, the most impressive qualities were clear - the love, joy and warmth that is abound in this family. This tearoom is a true gem nestled in south-central Iowa. |

Variety: Our Merry Ole' English Tea Time was heartwarming from start to finish. Charles Dicken's would be proud of Miss Spencer's entertaining portrayal of Mrs. Bob Cratchit and the guest appearance of Tiny Tim was great touch. The food was wonderful. What a terrific way to get in the Christmas spirit. Donna and Miss Spencer's genuine love of their craft is evident in every detail. |

Variety: We had a delightful time today at the Merry Ole' English Tea. My favorite part of the day was watching this talented family work together. Our experience started at door where we were greeted and allowed to enjoy beautiful music provided by the guys of the family. Miss Spenser made Mrs. Cratchit come to life in her dramatic holiday skit. Little brother was also a hit as he delivered his line right on cue! The food was really good and there was great variety. The presentation of the food was also picturesque. We had 3 kinds of tea and they were all very good. I received several teas from our Swedish exchange daughter and they tasted even better this evening with the tea brewing basket I bought today. If you are looking for a total experience; this tea room is for you. The attention to detail was appreciated. |
