My girlfriends and I enjoyed the quaint rooms and picking your own tea cups. We enjoyed the quiches and the crab melt on a scone that was delicious. We will definitely return for more tastes!

I was very impressed with this charming tea room. I got the Victorian Earl Grey with Dena's Tea. It was amazing; my favorite High Tea experience.

The scones and the clotted cream (americanized, ie. sweet), lemon curd and strawberry jam were all wonderful. The only thing not excellent was that they were out of 3 of the teas we ordered. Those they did have were very good and steeped just right.

Brought my sister out from Salem for her birthday. Lovely atmosphere, decor, and building, creating a traditional feel. The teas were loose/whole leaf, both herbal and black, with a wide variety of options, and were available for purchase to take home (along with other tea paraphernalia. We had a lovely time and were not rushed even after closing time had passed. This is definately a place we will visit again. FYI: Need to update website. Only open until 3:00 on Saturdays, not 4:00 or 5:00 (depending on where you look) as indicated.

We had a party here for my Mom's 85th birthday. We had a total of 23 guests from Salem and Portland. Everyone agreed it was worth the trip. The food was great, the cake excellent, and the service could not have been more accommodating. A great time was had by all. We will come back! PS The tea was very hot like my Mom likes it!

My daughter and I happened to find Althea's last July while looking for a nice place to have her birthday lunch. (we had lived here two days) We loved it so much that it has become our birthday place. We went earlier in the year for my birthday and then again on July 17th for my daughter's 15th birthday. We are planning to go more often so we can try more wonderful menu items.

A small group of our choir members went to tea on July 16th and had a wonderful experience! We all tried different things from the menu and were absolutely delighted with the quality of food. The quiche Lorraine was the best I've ever had!. The roasted pepper soup was scrumptious; the salads were filled with different greens and were bite-sized. One of our group is in a wheel-chair so we were glad of the handicap-access availability. The tea choices were numerous and everyone was pleased with their choice. The tea pots had tea cozies on them so the tea stayed hot for the whole time. The tea didn't get stronger and stronger so was delicious from beginning to end. I had the black currant which was a light, tasty choice, perfect for the warm day. The sour cream lemon pie was very tasty; crust was flakey and filling was just lemony enough. The waitress, also chef, was fun and full of information. The consensus was that we NEED to come back. . .soon! The first Saturday brunch sounds like an experience we would like to try next. Thank you from the Sheridan United Methodist choir

My mom and I came to this tea room, which was a little hard to find, but well worth it. We got to choose our own tea cups and look around all we wanted. We found a cheery table in the sun, and were served excellent tea, soup, quiche, and scones for dessert. What a fun little place! We will be visiting again in 2 weeks. :)

Everything was average. But they are often busy some of the tea wasn't the best I've ever had but it was very cute.

A friend and I made our first visit to Althea's 7/25/06. Though a warm day, the tea room was cozy and cool. The menu selections were varied and interesting. While sorely tempted by the list of quiches available, we decided to make our first visit a 'tea' and enjoyed a variety of finger sandwiches, fresh fruits and a sample of finishing sweets. The only difficulty we encountered was in selecting which tea to try. The service was very good and we were allowed to linger over the cups as long as we wished. A lovely experience.

Very Nice!!!! Our Red Hat chapter, L.P.P., had our Valentine's Tea here and it was so wonderful. It is hard to find Tea Houses that have big rooms for large groups!! We had plenty of room and everyone had a wonderful time. We each received a valentine from Althea's which was a lovely added touch. Thank you for the memories!!!!

My mother and I visited this place on a very busy day but we were greeted and had a good time. It took us forever to find us but once we did it was well worth it. A great tea room.

All the personal mementos of the real Althea made our dining experience even nicer. The tea selection was extensive and all brewed to the right point. We enjoyed the pumpkin scones immensely. The serving portions were just right and the ham, apple and cheddar cheese quiche hit the spot on a chilly, rainy Dallas afternoon. Althea's is a favorite tea room and spot for relaxation. The staff is very knowledgeable as well.

Patricia, the proprietress, was a welcoming and very hospitible woman. The food was more than enough and the price makes it all the more lovely! Well worth your time to stop in and enjoy a cuppa!
