While the tea itself was good at Miss Tami's, I would certainly not describe it as a 'tearoom' by any means. It is simply a gift shop and restaurant. For someone like myself who frequents tearooms around the country, I was sorely disappointed with Miss Tami's. I was told that a full tea needs to be scheduled 24 hours in advance. This was not mentioned on the phone when I made my reservation. I was told that if I added a scone to my entree they would double the price and call it a 'tea'. Again, not what I expected from someone who calls themselves a 'tearoom'. At a tearoom, one expects afternoon tea to be readily available. It is nice when other entrees are available as well, but to be told that I couldn't have afternoon tea at a tearoom was insulting. I could have gone to any restaurant in the area to receive the sandwich that I ordered. In addition, the pot of tea that I got was brought with sugar and honey packets. I could not believe that a professional tearoom does not serve real sugar cubes and real honey. This lack of class is an insult to tearooms everywhere. If you are looking for a good lunch that is a bit pricey, or a good cup of tea, this place will do, but if you are accustomed to a classy afternoon tea, Miss Tami's will be a sure disappointment.

I have enjoyed Miss Tami's from the time it opened as a gift shop. People are nice and assisting and you cannot beat their food. Tami is quite the chef and she will not provide the recipes so you must return. Her Monte Cristo is unsurpassed, hands down! I have traveled extensively, and her menu is worth any journey. I felt that Miss Tami's was a great little tea house! The buffet offered on Saturday morning was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazingly good. There was a crepe station, fresh fruit, waffles, potatoes, eggs, desert items, home-made biscuits, and the best mac and cheese I have ever experienced! Almost every 'breakfast' food was available, fresh, and warm. We enjoyed our tea on the lush patio. Aside from the buffet, they have a full menu for lunch and desert as well as many types of drinks including mimosas, flavored coffees, and teas. The prices seemed just right for the quality of the food and tea. Although, the hostess did seemed a little confused when we came in and said 'We're here for tea'. Apparently she thought we meant we were there for a tea party which needs to be scheduled ahead of time. Her confusion was the only negative thing I experienced. Overall, I really enjoyed my afternoon at Miss Tami's. The packages they offer for the parties are absolutely adorable. Your best bet is to check their web site before you go to make sure you know what to expect. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I have been going to Miss Tami's Cottage and Tea Room for six years and visit frequently. I have read all the reviews and cannot believe the negative ones at all. While anyone is allowed a bad day or two, I cannot believe that Miss Tami or her staff have ever intentionally or wantonly ignored a guest or made them feel unwelcome. This is a delightful and busy Tea Room and Tea Shop where you can be treated like royalty at a very reasonable price. Compared with other Tea Rooms in the SF Bay Area and Victoria Canada, Miss Tami's is on the professional and reasonably-priced side. If they had more staf they would be banging into each other all day long and the price would be much higher. The Monte Cristo sandwich is a signature item and I have never had a bad one. The staff are always friendly and perform their tasks courteously and professionally. This is not the Westin St. Francis hotel, but the Afternoon Tea is better and the staff more service oriented.

The service was terrible. I was treated as though I were in the way while I browsed the shop. My questions were not answered and I ended up leaving with nothing because I could not get help from the rude women who worked there. I will never go again!

The big draw for this shop is the variety of teas available, and the little gift shop is interesting, but that's as far as my review can be favorable. The food is too expensive for what is served. The place is too cramped and poorly laid out, which makes serving difficult. Miss Tami seemed to be rushed and very nit-picky in her treatment of guests and employees. She won't yield to any special requests. Her attitude caused me to have a very uncomfortable time in her shop. She is just not nice. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I did not like the cheap imitation of a fine tea shop, either.

Talk about a break from the ordinary! What a wonderful little retreat. A place to gather, relax, and unwind. You feel so welcome when you enter, and that is expounded upon to the point that, before you know it, you have spent two hours in comfortable, warm enjoyment. Everything seems to reflect the charming personality of Miss Tami, whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on both my visits thus far. Elegant dining meets casual atmosphere, and there are so many different teas to sample, last count was 34, I look forward to many visits with my friends here, and hopefully a large gathering like they have going on quite frequently in their newly remodeled area. And the gift shop! Oh you wouldn't believe the little unique treasures tucked away in this cottage which prides itself in being a specialty boutique ... You just have to go see for yourself!

I have brought friends to Miss Tami's place many times over the years and I have never heard a negative word from any of them! The difference could be that we went in smiling and we were met with a smile and a lot of happy cheerful people. The food was always wonderful-maybe not always our favorite, but next time we ordered something different! The atmosphere is always Victorian because that is how it is decorated and for those of us that like it we appreciate it. If you don't like it -don't go! If you go in the door at Tami's with a positive smile you will always have fun! As for the owner! Tami is a wonderful lady that is a great role model for the rest of us-smile no matter how your day is going!!! She is a gentle, sweet, lady that would help you in any way she could.

Bitter old woman Tami is. Very slow service, My Monte Cristo There some what famous meal. Tasted like a Dirty rag shoved into a soggy piece of bread with mustard and powder sugar to top. I will never go there again nor will i advise any one who likes being treated with respect by the owner of all people. Not a polite or friendly woman.

My sister told me she was going to suprise me and take to a special place she takes all her quest, since moving to Idaho 2 years ago. I was so very pleased, it was wonderful, the servers were so friendly and the food was way more than I could eat and I felt like I had gone back in time. I see why my sister takes all her special quest. Thanks for a great time, and for the others who wrote and did not like things a much you must of been having a bad day.

Very, very expensive for what they offer. Service and quality of food greatly lacking. Perhaps they havent been to Great Britain to enjoy a true Teatime experience.

Can't figure this place out. The owner seems to have a facination with Edwardian era England. The tea room is actually tucked behind a very cramped trinket shop. Service was hurried and poor. Food was poor and seemed pre-prepared, even frozed and then microwaved. Very expensive for what you get.

We been enjoying Cottage Expressions and Miss Tami's Tearoom since they opened. We always look forward to the experience we have and the friendly workers. It is as though we step back in time. It is a wonderful place to go, time and time again.

Everytime I visit Cottage Expressions makes me want to go more! This place is a must see in Boise. They offer exceptionally wonderful food. There is definately nothing like Cottage Expressions and Miss Tami's Tea Room.

We have been going to Miss Tami’s for over 10 years. We love the whole dinning experience. My only criticism would be the variety of teas is limited, as well as, with out reservations it can be difficult to get in. However, we will certainly continue to enjoy the Tearoom.
