My girlfriend and I stumbled upon the charming Enchanted Rose tea room while doing a bit of shopping in Lebanon, Illinois. We had been doing a marathon of visits to as many tea rooms as we could all over Southern Illinois and the St. Louis area while she was visiting. The staff at The Enchanted Rose were by far the most friendly and were very helpful as we chose from their over 40 teas and their food was as good as, if not better than the more well known tea rooms in the area. The added fun opportunity to dress up in vintage costume was just what my crazy old friend and I needed to remember our vacation together. The picture of the two of us in hats and boa is up on my refrigerator along with their menu. The staffs are also very child friendly and so I am going back with my young niece and nephew next week! If you are tired of the over crowded and commercialized and snobby tea rooms I know you will not be disappointed in this charming and whimsical eating experience.

What a find! This was our first stop on our 'Tea Room Tour' of IL and MA. I took my daughter and her cousin and they had so much fun. We chose from a wide variety of teas and each was served and then kept warm with a tea cozy. The girls had animal shaped sanwiches, which they thought was pretty funny. While the menu isn't exactly gourmet for adults, it is perfect for young ladies being introduced to tea rooms. The owners are so friendly and accommodating - they let the girls dress up, took pictures with us and served enough deserts for everyone. Next time we are in town we will be visiting. They also sell loose leaf teas and are located in a great historic area perfect for spending an afternoon.

Thank you for a lovely time!!

My girls and I visited the tea room and they were in heavan with the period dressup area. My husband was very impressed after we had our Valentines Day dinner there. Our family loves the era and antiques. We have visited many fine places in the south and this definately ranks as one of the fine establishments. Very nice people that take you on a trip back in time. They even package your purchases beautifully. We have used the bags to line the girls' antique doll trunks! VERY ELEGANT, YET RELAXING!!
