This place is nothing special. It's charming and quaint, a nice addition to the New Market streetscape. The Village Tea Room is a nice spot for a mid-day snack (or high tea) if you're in the area but don't make a special trip. The servers aren't too friendly. Bottomline: it's the best in the area... but it's the only one in that area of Frederick County.

lovly victorian setting with beautiful teas, wonderful bread bowls full of hot offerings and homemade pies.

This used to be a quaint interesting old victorian house that was turned into a tea house. Now with the side addtion, it is just another little resturant.

I like this place, but they changed. The last time we were there, it was more like a nice place for lunch and not so much a 'tea room'.

I would recommend the tea room to anyone. My visits there have always been great. The teas are wonderful, the desserts are homemade, and the menu is varied. The service is always friendly.

Not sure why this restaurant maintains the word 'Tea Room' in their name, because it is a restaurant, not a tea room. Went there on Valentine's Day 2005 and was very disappointed. They seemed to be out of most things including meat for sandwiches. Definitely NOT worth a visit if you're looking for an authentic tea room experience.

The Village Tea Room should be called the Village Lunch Room. I think they do a pretty fair job at lunch fare but tea is lacking. They do not serve 'tea' per se and all the pretty pots are merely on display except for the token brown teapot served with a tea bag. Service, however, was good.

This was a lovely experience! I do wish they had more of a tea selection, but what they had was adequate. The atmosphere was outstanding and the service was great. Also, we enjoyed the food. Overall, it was a very nice afternoon.
