This has to be in the top 10 tea rooms in all of Georgia. We loved the fabulous food, the service couldn't have been better and the atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommend it!

We had a Baby Shower at this tearoom, and had a wonderful time. We had our own server who was exceptional and catored to our every whim. We were able to use one of the semi-private rooms which was very much appreciated because of the baby gifts and games we were going to play. Cindy, the owner, was very gracious and helpful -allowing us to decorate with tulle, balloons, candy,& goodie bags. We chose four items from the menu for our guest to choose their lunch from and printed menu cards for them. Cindy brought trays of mini scones and devonshire cream for guest to enjoy until everyone arrived, and we had individual plates of mini cakes and chocolate covered strawberries for everyone to enjoy after lunch. Although the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday, we felt as though we were special and were well taken care of. Lunch was delightful, the hot items came out hot and the chilled chicken salad came out cold. Beverages were plentiful and everyone had a lovely time. I would recommend this unique restaurant to anyone for a gathering.

I have been going to Mittie's in Alpharetta for a couple of years now. We always have good service and the food is delectable. The decor is cute and the house has a lot of charm. The manager does everything she can to make things right if an issue ever does arise.

I visited the Mittie's in Norcross several times with friends and reccomended it to family. The service was terrible! The waitress tried hard but had no help. I understand the Norcross site is closed. So sorry to lose so many tea rooms in the Metro Atlanta are. Surely someone could do better.

There is nothing elegant or refined or classy or impeccable about this place as their advertisement states. I've been here twice in recent weeks, as I'd taken friends there for celebrations. VERY disappointing and embarrassing experiences...too bad, because Mitties used to have a good reputation about 10 years ago. By going the second time recently, I was just 'giving them another chance.' I will never go back and will tell my friends never to go there again. Wish I'd read the other reviews prior to going. The server acted like she was doing us a favor, but you could tell she didn't like her job and should be working somewhere else. Same with the cashier. Very unprofessional, unfriendly, lousy decor, and very old and dirty plastic flowers in the window boxes and pots out front. And we were the only ones in the restaurant on one of these visits. Now I see why. I'm sorry for them, and for the previous reputation of Mittie's. They would be much better off going out of business rather than being such a poor example of a tea room and/or restaurant.

Someone here told me they were the only Mittie's. Found out not true. Original is in Roswell. Shame on you.

I totally agree with the poster above. I have been to this so-called 'tea room' twice and have been disappointed each time. You receive a tea pot of hot water and Twinnings or Bigelow tea bags, which I could buy myself from Publix. Each time the owner says 'We're thinking about getting loose-leaf teas,' but never acts on it. The owner is scary, but her staff is so sweet. The worst part is that both times I've been here, the owner yelled at one of her sweet staff members in front of customers! I will never go back. Poor girls who work there - I hope they find jobs where they're appreciated!

This is NOT a tearoom and shouldn't be considered so on this website. We were very disappointed, especially located in Roswell. My friend and I have visited several Tea Rooms throughout the Atlanta area. We asked for High Tea and received lunch on a plate which was overpriced and lacking of taste. The LOOSE TEA IS EXTRA - AMAZING!! The desert consist of Sara Lee pound cake, and frozen Sara Lee mini eclaires, cream puffs along with Kroger Two-bite Brownies! They should have gone to Trader Joe's to get some fresh food. A real Tea Room always has cloth napkins and china. The service was lacking and the atmosphere was not pleasant and was extremely noisy. We felt we had wasted our money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

My friend and I go here for lunch often. I have visited other Tea Rooms around north side of Atlanta. What I found is that the Chicken Salad and the Pasta Salad are the best out of the 3 Tea Rooms I have visited. The one problem I have with this one is that I have to choose from Tea Bags instead of a list of fresh Teas that I can try. They have a great variety of foods that even a guy will go with us.

Cute place in historic Alpharetta but needs improvement and had no air conditioning on 8-18-07 from 3:30 till 5:30pm and the outside temp. was about 101 and it was actually cooler outside leaving at 5:30pm. Everything else was fair. Loved the tiny signature chicken salad in the tablespoon size shell but the other chicken salad was bland. We had quiche, pinwheel, cresent and chicken salad (bland) and mini shell with a small spoon of signature chicken salad, small cup of friut salad, cheese cake slice,2 very hard scones with whip cream, and we brough in our own very good bridal shower cake. The iced tea was flavorful but the ice was melted and not very cold. Wine bottle was set in the middle of the table with no wine cooler but was chilled and tasty. Another shower (baby) had to exit through out room to leave in the middle of the shower. Noisy and hard to hear but very fun anyway. I might try it again for a breakfast or lunch with only a few guest and give another try.

Mittie's has a lot of potential, and sadly, it is not near attaining it. The building is cute, but innefficiently designed, causing cooks to cross the dining room, through tables of guests, to go from the oven area to the refrigeration area. The staff was friendly and kind, but they seemed frazzled and underdressed for a Victorian tea room. We made reservations for the high tea, which we have had at several other tea rooms. The savory plate was quite good, but the dessert tray was nothing special. In fact, half of the desserts came from the frozen food section of a warehouse store, and the eclairs and cream puffs were still partially frozen. But the worst offense was the selection of beverages included in the high tea. They only offered bagged tea, iced tea, and soda with the high tea. Choosing from the menu of loose leaf teas would have cost extra. It is ridiculous to have paid $18.95 for the high tea and then not have the option to select any loose leaf tea, the centerpiece of a high tea, from the menu and have the price already included in the cost. Even if they have to increase the cost of the high tea to accommodate the loose leaf teas, it would be a great improvement to have actual tea included in the high tea.

I really enjoy the food at Mittie's Cafe. Their menu has just enough variety for everyone to choose from-and the presentation of their dishes is presented with simplicity, which allows for a person to place more focus on the sense of flavor rather than sight. It's very cute, quaint, and cheerful. However, sometimes people aren't always a 100%, but when they are; it's a great place to be!

I have grown up in the Roswell area and have gone to Mittie’s sense I was a child. They catered my mother’s 50th birthday party, hosted many bridesmaid’s luncheons I have attended, and have been a favorite stop for me when entertaining out of town guests. Their chicken salad is legendary and the pin-wheels are one of my favorites. A good friend of mine is pregnant and a few of us got together to give her a shower. Mittie’s immediately came to mind. I called to reserve a spot for a small group and trustingly made a deposit. I was told this deposit would go toward reserving a place and would go towards the final bill. At no point was I informed that this deposit was non-refundable. Because of some unforeseen events, I had to cancel my reservation at Mittie’s. I called two weeks before the reserved date and was informed that my deposit would not be returned, this was company policy. I informed the owner that I was not told this at the time of the deposit and she told me that she could not verify that my statement was true. Clearly, after being accused of lying, I was not pleased. I continued to try to explain the situation and come to an agreement, but was only given a quick, unkind, and unprofessional response. I am very sad that this tearoom that I have enjoyed all my life has turned into an unfriendly place that does not appreciate or respect their faithful customers. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

I hated this place. We had what could only be described as KROGER cookies. The china was ugly, modern, and not at all like a tea room should have. The staff wasn't very welcoming. I feel ripped off.

As a FORMER owner of 2 very successful Tea Houses in Florida, I must say that Mitties is EXCELLENT!! Not only are the Servers very nice, but the food is EXCELLENT!! We are moving to the Crabapple area and are looking forward to eating there A LOT. The CHICKEN SALAD is fantastic and so is the Ice Tea...just the right hint of MINT!! The only thing that Mitties needs are TABLECLOTHS.

I wanted to apologize for the nasty review I last submitted. After eating the chicken salad with blue cheese, I went to my doctor. He informed me that I have developed an allergy to lactose, which explains my reaction to the chicken salad. Once again, I apologize for my last comment. I was simply upset, and over reacting.

My mother and I drove about an hour to eat lunch at Mittie's and the drive was not really worth it. The sign clearly says TEA ROOM, but there were no teas anywhere on the menu. I ordered their tea sampler and was brought a plate of individualy wrapped tea bags from boxes of grocery store tea and a teapot full of water that was NOT hot enough to steap my tea. Although the food was pretty good the service was lacking as well. Our waitress only came back to the table only after I flagged her down even though she passed by repeatedly. The woman who appeared to be the owner also seemed to ignore her new customers,my mother and I included. I work in a tea room and we pride ourselves on the attention we provide to our customers making sure that they feel like royality during their visit. That the customers every need is met. The lack in service and in tea really disappointed me. This is not a true tea room by my standards.

Mittie's is wonderful in every respect, except the scones. The scones are really, really awful. I really wish that they served a tradional scone rather than a rasberry rock.

I just went to the Mitties Cafe in Alpharetta and had the most amazing experience! The decor is quaint, and the food was fabulous. (I had the chicken crepes, but my girlfriends raved on and on about their chicken salad)The food alone would have brought me back, but not enough can be said about the service!Everyone who works there (including the owner) greeted us with a warm good morning before we even were sat at our table. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. I couldn't help but notice the staff calling customers by their first names and treating them more like friends that were guests in thier own homes. Our waiter was very attentive especially to my little girl. (which allowed me and my friends the time to visit) He gave her a stuffed animal and made her a paper rose. Now she can't wait to go back to Mitties, and I can't either. Great Job!

I traveled to Georgia from Indiana last March for the NCAA basketball tournament. I had great dining experiences the entire weekend, but my favorite by far was Mitties on Main. I ate there twice. For dinner I had the Cherry Blue...exquisite (and so much food). For breakfast I had the New Orleans French toast. It,too, was wonderful. The ambience was so neat...quaint and welcoming. The staff is sooo friendly. It just feels good to be there. I recommend it to everyone, and on my next trip to Georgia, I will be sure to go back to enjoy that great southern hospitality!

Mitties Tea Room in Roswell has been a favorite of mine since I moved here. My kids took me there for mothers day and they loved the lemonade served in little teapots! The Cherry Blue Chicken Salad is so good that I often serve it at home. So when I tried the new restaurant they opened in Alpharetta I was pleasantly surprised. Often when small restaurants expand they loose some quality. But, other than a little slower service, I could not have been more pleased. The restaurant was clean and the service friendly and the food seemed the exact replica of the Roswell restaurant. Good job, I will recomend you to my friends. Anne MariettaGA

I found the service to be horrific...as it was at the old location (across from the Magnolia cafe). The food was ok...the servers/seaters are less than friendly and seem annoyed by ?'s. This is the south people...become hospitable. The food was ok though. DN

Mitties Cafe Tea Room is a very cute little cafe. That is until several of the tables are filled and it gets so loud that you can't hear yourselves talking. Our server was great! She had a lot of personality and was well versed on all of the menu items. We had the high tea and were a little disappointed that it wasn't exactly like the discription on the menu. There were no desserts offered except for out of the dessert cabinet and at 5.95 for a piece of cake that we certainly would not have had if the advertised desserts had of been served on the tea plate. As far as restaurants go, this is one is nice, as far as tea rooms go, Tea is not even listed on the menu. We will probably return as this location is infinately better all around than the Mitties in Roswell.

Mitties is one of my favorite lunch spots, whether I'm having a liesurely lunch with friends or grabbing a quick bite on my own. The owners and staff are so warm and friendly you can't help but to feel comfortable and welcomed from the minute you walk in the door. The menu is a wonderful variety of fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared foods - although I usually have my favorites: Miss Emily's chicken salad plate and the best lobster bisque in Atlanta! I highly recommend Mitties - I just love it and know you will too!!

I had a wonderful time eating and chatting with my friends at Mitties for lunch. Not only is it a nice quaint cafe but because it is a family owned business I felt very welcomed. The food was amazing and I am looking forward to going back for some more chicken salad....YUM!

Mitties on Main is Wonderful! I visited today after I had a disappointing experience at the Roswell Mitties. The servers are extremely nice and go out of their way to make your time their enjoyable. Cindy, the owner is a permanent fixture and is so friendly. I felt so welcomed and cared for while I was there. The food is incredible, you will not be disappointed. The thing that I was most impressed by was the fact that I heard the entire staff calling people by name, how nice to know that they remember who their customers are. I will definately be going back and making sure that all my friends visit!
