This tea room is no longer in business. l drove all the way from Portland only to find the place up for rent. So dissapointed and angry that the owner could not have had the decency to post on tea map that she was closed

Though this tea room was a wonderful experience for me, we can no longer experience tea in Newport. The Tea Party no longer offers afternoon tea. Claire still has the retail business, but the restaurant area is now serving 'chocolate' faire. EVERYTHING has chocolate in the ingredients, not just the desserts! My friend and I had a lovely experience here. We came early and were seated immediately, I ordered the Classic Tea which included a fruit sorbet, savories, desserts and one of the biggest, most amazingly delicious lavender scone I had ever had in my whole life. We were so impressed my friend ordered one for herself. The chef even came out to greet us and ask how our meal was. I do wish they would crack a door or a window open though, as the fireplace makes it almost too toasty. I will definitely be back!

this was the first tea room my fiancee and I went to together. We have very special memories there and the staff were always friendly and welcoming to us. The food has always been exceptional and very filling and there is a good variety of teas to choose from! I only wish we lived closer to Newport to come more often!

We live 2 hrs.from Newport but have been to this charming tea room on several occasions. The interior is lovely & quaint. There is an extensive list of teas. The food was absolutely wonderful. The Tea Party has given me beautiful memories that I will cherish forever that include my daughter & granddaughter.I recommend it for friends, families & anyone who enjoys the experience of tea rooms.

I have tried to have tea there 3 times! Each time the door is wide open and people are just being served and my party has been told we are closed. If this tea room is still open in a year it will be by the grace of god. Don't waste your time there are wonderful tea spots up and down the beautiful Oregon coast.

The hours on this website need to be updated. It isn't the tea party's fault regarding the last two negative reviews regarding house. The Tea Part is open Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (ish) and Sunday at 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (ish). Call for reservations to guarantee a table 574-0545 and fix this website's hours please. Thank you.

During a recent vacation down the oregon coast for our daughter's birthday, we scheduled a lunch/tea here. When we arrived during the posted business hours we found the tea house closed for no apparent reason and no explanation. We were very dissappointed and a little angry. We won't try again, wish we had stopped first in Tillamook at La Tea Da.

During a weekend trip to the coast we drove over an hour out of our way to experience tea at The Tea Party. We arranged our schedule to arrive well before their posted closing time of 5 pm. We arrived at 3:30 pm. As we waited for service I notice a party having tea in the tea room. Shortly thereafter to our great disappointment, the proprietress bluntly informed us that the tea room was closed for the day. It is highly unusual for a tea room to close just as high tea is traditionally served. This is the third time we have given this tea room a chance to improve their service and food. The first two disappointing visits were forgiven as the tea room had just recently reopened after the wonderful Tea and Tomes (formerly in the same location) closed. However, after this most disappointing visit, I doubt we will be back again. We will visit the dependable and wonderful Lovejoy’s tea room in Florence.

I went with my sister and we had a grand time. We felt so comfortable that we let loose! They have a tiny dress-up area with hats, scarves and even some gloves and pearls. We dressed and giggled; my sister put on a feather boa. The tea was great, it was all so nice. I do wish that there were sandwiches with less mayonnaise or, rather, none at all. But I believe I may be the only one who prefers no mayo. It was not the Huntington, it was just plain delicious and sweet. Try it, I think you'll like it!

After having a bad experience at another tea room the day before we came here (no reservations, last minute) hoping they could so something to wipe the bad impressions away and that they did! The staff was accomodating and helpful, the meal they created for us (again, no reservations) was delightful and warm. Our server was gracious and helpful (they too were out of items, but created a wonderful menu for us). I've been here numerous times and the service, tea and food is always consistent and solid. I would heartily recommend this tea room.

The Tea Party is a must visit for any trip to the beach! My mom and I had an absolutely wonderful tea! The tea was served very hot (just the way we like it) and the atmosphere lovely, lady like, all about tea yet not over done. The food was excellent and the hostess was most delightful to chat with. As soon as the weather is warmer we'll be taking my weelchair bound grandmother and she will be able to roll right in!!! And if you go to tea with anyone in a wheelchair accessibility is so very important! Thank you!

After visiting several times l feel that l must add to the comments about this Tea Shop. It is a delight!. The food is always delicious and varied, The tea is piping hot and the service is excellent. All at very reasonable prices. If you are looking for a nice tea experience this is a must visit. Plus this is so close to the beach that the kids and hubby can play whilst you enjoy a wonderful break in your day.

My husband and kids stopped in for tea after playing on the beach in the cold wind. The food variety was excellent, the lavendar scones were a perfect detail for a victorian tea shoppe.. it's the little details that make it special. However, my husband (who is british) didn't care for them, he said they tasted too flowery. My girls and I on the other hand thought they were perfect. We all enjoyed putting on foofy hats and scarves, even my 9 year old son. The only reason why I have a 'good' rating in the tea variety, instead of an excellent, was because they didn't have my favourite tea... Yorkshire Red. My daughter plans to take her friends there, and we plan to make it a scheduled stop everytime we go to Newport area.

The savories and finger sandwiches were the best and freshest I have ever had, every one of them. Very creative, not just the usual fare. Attention to detail in the tea house itself was delightful, including the bathrooms.

Great place to visit while you are at the beach. Tea, sandwiches and sweets were all wonderful. Nice atomosphere. Service was great and very friendly. Lavendar scones were yummy. Will visit this place often.

I spend as much time at the Oregon coast as I can, and usually stay at the Sylvia Beach Hotel when I am in Newport, which is about a block away from this delightful teahouse. So, it makes it so convenient to take tea at this wonderful tearoom. A sweet, intimate shop with excellent service and delicious teas. My favorite was the strawberry tea. The scones and sweets are a delight. Nice collection of tea paraphanalia as well. Once when I was there, a group of little girls were having a wonderful tea party, all dressed up in hats and fancy dresses, how fun to watch them. Be sure to stop by.

I was very disappointed when the previous establishment at the location, Tea & Tomes, closed. However, to my great surprise and joy, the replacement shop called The Tea Party is just as lovely as the first! They have not increased prices and continue to provide a bountiful offering of scones, savories, tea cakes, desserts and perfect little homemade sorbets to cleanse the palate. The Tea Party has very cordial and friendly staff and the interior is cozy and warm. In addition, the location of The Tea Party is superb with quaint, historic Nye Beach surrounding this teahouse.
