I have visited this Tea House at least 3 times and have taken my family. The ladies are very accommodating when I request my scone at the end instead of at the beginning of the meal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys tea.

By far, one of the best tearooms I have ever visited. I have been here at least 10 times since it opened and it is consistently wonderful in every way. I am sorry that this is the first time I have ever reviewed it. I am a huge afternoon tea fan and have gone to well over 30 different tearooms in California over the last 15 years. This is one of the best! Thank you so much for a quality tea experience everytime

The best scones ever! I love the decor-- and the service is excellent. One of my favorite tea houses.

The tea place was beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. We felt rushed because the server kept coming by our table to check if we were done with our course. Then my friend noticed that there was a two hour minimum. I took offense from that since even IHOP has no time limit. It was not a busy time on top of that. We stayed 2 1/2 hours and was not kicked out.I thought tea places were for women to catch up on each other's lives...you can't rush that.

We held a 'girls day out' gathering at Two a Tea and it was fabulous. The service was excellent. All of the teas were delicious as was the food served. The environment was very appealing. The scones were very good and the cobbler dessert was wonderful. It was an all around great experience and we had a lovely time. A definite do over.

I brought my Mother here for her first tea experience and she loved it as did I. The scones were very fresh as was the breads used on the finger sandwiches. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful, the service was excellent! Neither of us could find fault with anything. We will definately be back (: Thank you, Gin

I was impressed with the variety of the menu and the attentiveness of the owner/server. The cleanliness needs a bit more attention. Fresh flowers instead of silk flowers would add a great touch; also the music was muted out by the noise of the crowded dining room.

The drive from Burbank is not so long when you know you're having tea at Two a Tea! The little gal that runs and own this tea house is so sweet and doing a fabulous job! The food is incredible and you get plenty of it! And the price is extremely reasonable. The butternut squash and sausage soup is to die for!!! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and there is no hurry to get you in and out. I highly recommend Two a Tea!

This tea house was suggested by a client and we thought we would give it a try, we did not enjoy it, the tea selection was only average and we though the food nothing special. There are far better tea places in LA and not worth the drive. My wife and I thought with all the great reviews we would have had better, we won't be back.

As we began planning a bridal tea, we went on a tasting and sampling of many tea rooms in the area. We must say Two a Tea was the best by far. First of all Kristen was very pleasant to work with. She answered numerous questions and offered practical suggestions. Everything was perfect from the table settings to the sandwiches and to the absolutely delicious desserts. We all had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. Thank you Kristen and to your staff for making this such a special day for us.

My sister and I often go to tea when I come from Colorado to visit. We visited Rose Cottage last year and loved it. I thought, there is not a better tea room ... until we went to Two a Tea in Glendora. It was amazing - the best scones I have ever had, the tomato soup is delicious and the sandwiches wonderful. Loved the service and the ambiance as well. This surely is Southern California's finest tea room! I highly recommend it!

This place overall was great. The tea selection was wonderful. The decor is very nice and cozy. The waitstaff was wonderful once we were seated. They were very helpful and accomodating. However, when we came in we were left in the front, waiting a good 20 minutes to be seated despite our reservations. I guess it's the hustle and bustle of opening time. That's why I chose good and not excellent service. As for the food, everything was great except for the sandwiches. I guess I'm very particular of eating fresh food. I could tell the bread for the sandwiches at least have been refridgerated for quite some time because the breads were a bit stiff and still cold. The rest of the food was wonderful. I especially liked the apricot scone.

Our I.E. Tea Society made the trip out to Glendora to visit Two a Tea this afternoon. Here are a few things some of the members had to say (as posted on our Meetup website): 'Excellent. Two a Tea was decorated like a Victorian tea room and excellent service. The Royal High Tea menu was the biggest and worth every penny. From the scone to the dessert and everything in between, the food was wonderful. We enjoyed 7 different teas throughout the meal (we each chose our own, plus some) and most of them were excellent. Several were good enough to bring home.' 'This is what the tea experience is all about: the teas were wonderful with many choices, the edibles enchanting and perfectly presented...' I've never been disappointed with my visits here and I'm so glad my group felt the same. We shared a variety of teas in our individual pots and were able to try several varieties, so good that some of us chose to buy some of the wonderful loose leaf blends at the end (I bought the Almond Cream and the Green Earl Grey Bravo, there are many to choose from!). The food was great, the roasted corn soup was one of the best I've had and the fresh baked scones with lemon curd and cream were wonderful! The service was attentive and courteous; they made us feel very welcome the entire time. Definitely worth the price and a repeat visit! All attendees rated Two a Tea with five out of five stars! I do hope they get their website up and running again soon as it is a nice way to acquaint other members of our group of the variety (and the occasional special events) this wonderful tea house offers! Thank you Two a Tea for a wonderful afternoon!

All I can say is 'I'm in Love' with a little tea house in Glendora. I went with my mother and a friend of her's. We enjoyed ourselves that Thursday afternoon. We had such a wonderful time that I called my cousin and had lunch with her today (Sunday). The Owner Kris was delightful. You need to try the Rosewater Lemonade. If your want to have an afternoon to remember with friends and family or just a spot of tea by yourself, visit 'Two A Tea' it will be an experiance you will not soon forget.

I just have to say how happy I am that Two A Tea reopened! I was afraid we had lost this lovely little spot forever. I have been in for tea twice, once in December (great holiday feeling) and then again, just a few days ago. I had a very pleasant conversation with the new owner, Kristi, who has managed to keep the ambiance but also provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere, which I truly appreciate. I plan on being a much more frequent visitor from now on! Kudos to you for your great service, great food and great hospitality.

This past Sunday 3-1 I took my sister-in-law to Two a Tea for her Birthday. The place is lovely. The food/ tea was wonderful. I live about 45 miles one way from Two A Tea. I have been coming here for about 2 years off and on when my schedule allows. I was so sad to hear that they were closing because I always look forward to their Christmas Tea. To my suprise, I received a notice from TeaMap letting me know that Two A Tea had re-opened! I quickly made a reservation for their Christmas Tea. When I arrived, I met the new owner, Kristi, who has been working there the last 4 years as the Head Chef. She bought the Tea Room from MaryAnne after she retired from the tea biz. Kristi served me my tea that day and we got to talking. She is a very nice person to get to know. She is probablly the youngest tearoom owner I know, but such a go getter! I admire her for her gumption! I am also greatful that she has continued with the tea room. My tea experience here was so good that I came again right before the new year for the Christmas Tea, again!! Please come and see what I mean, you will be glad you did! P.S. In 2008 there were 8 Tea Rooms that closed in the Southern California Area, I am GLAD that I can now take Two A Tea off that list!!!

      Tearoom response:

      Dear Kathy,
Thank you so much for your sweet words. I've enjoyed getting to know you and I appreciate all of your helpful advice! Looking forward to hopefully seeing you at the World Tea Expo in May! Thanks again!
Kristi

I've been visiting Two A Tea and always loved it. However, now that Marianne isn't there, it's not the same. Marianne made Two A Tea a special place, but now, it's less than average. The food was ok, the clotted cream was plain nasty, and the food is so expensive. Oh yea, the new owner is as dry as her scones. Sorry!!

      Tearoom response:

      Dear Ali,
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy yourself. What concerns me about your review is that the scones and clotted cream are the same recipe I've been using since I became the chef at Two A Tea over four years ago. Are you sure you gave us a fair shot? I hope you will give us another try - sounds like maybe you caught me on an off day - it happens to everyone. Thank You!
Kristi

Congratulations and good luck !

Everything was great AFTER we were moved to a nicer location. We were first seated in a teeny tiny room where the back of my chair bumped up against another customer's chair and my daughter's seat directly faced the wall which seemed to be only 18' or so away from her face!

We had my daughter's 7th birthday party here for 10 little girls, and it was nothing short of fabulous. The party was held on the covered patio, which is beautiful with painted murals on the walls, a koi pond, and strings of decorative lights. The service was excellent, and the girls loved being treated like princesses for the afternoon. The menu was catered toward children and presented beautifully. Ice cream sundaes prepared to each girl's liking topped off the afternoon perfectly!

Wow! We three - mother and two grandmothers - accompanied our little 4 year old prince to this charming victorian tea parlor. We were presented with a nice selection of fruit and black teas, even peach decaf! The special Mother's Day menu began with a vinegarette spinach salad, a lucious carrot/apple soup, and cool sorbet! Yum! The tasty finger sandwiches included piped salmon, a flaky miniquiche, and a moist, cheesy strata. The chocolate layer cake and tangerine spongecake with ice cream were thankfully petite as we wanted to enjoy the whole teaful experience. By far, our favorite were the citrus laced scones - soft, warm and flaky! We admired the angels and lace, pretty teapots and cups, and our prince couldn't stay away from the darling koi pond on the patio. Fabulous service in a pleasant atmosphere made this a memorable break from our busy lives. We recommend it heartily. (Please note the topiary in the picture is a giant teapot hanging over a huge mosaic teacup and saucer!) Can't wait to return!

Last night my husband and I went to 'Two A Tea' for a special Valentines Dinner. It was called 'A Night in Paris' French food that was delicious and Savory. I have been to many expensive French resturants, in California and in France, and I would say 'Two A Tea' could hold their own with the best of them. The Servers were busy, but not snootie , as in many places you feel like a chore for them. They tried to make it a super night and they succedded..... Dressed nicely in the spirit of the night. The owner was very pleasant and friendly and was happy to serve her patrons with smiles and a special time for each table. To Bring all the food out to each table at the same time must have been difficult. The Bouillabaisse (sp) was out of this world. Loaded with large shrimp, crab, scallops etc. My husband was in heaven....and full after....I had the Beef Bourgwignon (sp) it was wonderful with the pearl onions and mushroom wine gravy......It was hard to figure out the flavors from the appatizers through all the courses, they were all unique and wonderful in themselves.....The deserts, ....ahhhhh out of this world. I had the aprocot cream crepe, and my Honey had the chocolate sufflay(sp)....He devoured it like there was no tomorrow. 5 star all the way.... The atmosphere was lovely, candles all around the lovely table centerpieces with subdued chandelier lighting....Very romantic with the French music playing in the back ground. Lovely arangements adorning the Eiffel Tower centerpiece on the Buffet... The Tea room itself is absolutely lovely. Wonderful French & English Antiques of the Victorian Era. This place is a must see.... Table settings were all matched sitting on lovely vintage Linens. I could see each table was different but that everything matched. Not like some places that are shabby shiek and cute this was all elegance....I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone, It was a pure delight... Looking forward to the next event, Maybe even Tea....

The waitress was so rude we decided to leave and go elsewhere. The owner and the waitress insisted that we order more food than what we wanted. She said after Christmas business had been slow...sorry but that is not my fault maybe if they were polite and respectful to their customers business wouldn’t be as slow. My friends and I frequent tea houses as our little get away and time alons and this one has been the worst one. I do not recommend this place and will not be going back!!

This was my first, but not last time to visit this wonderful place. Everything was fantastic. Marianne will not have the best kept secret any longer. I am bring my family for Mother's day. What a lovely place to celebrate and enjoy a traditional tea.

I have visited Two A Tea four times in the past 16 months. Each time I have brought someone new. Everyone has enjoyed the ambiance, food and friendly staff. The patio is so pleasant in the Spring and Summer months. The owner, Marianne painted the mural on the patio wall, in addition to all of the beautiful interior decor of the tearoom. This tearoom is just what the Old Town Glendora area needed. I am glad Marianne pursued her vision and made it reality for all of us to enjoy. I look forward to my next visit.

Average. The rooms were extremely jammed with tables and customers. Made the atmosphere noisy. Our neighbors could certainly have jumped into our conversation at any time. The food was disappointing. The sandwiches were nearly bread only. I didn't expect to leave feeling stuffed but I did leave feeling hungry. The one highlight was that our server was lovely though we didn't see much of her.

      Tearoom response:

Dear Dee; I am so sorry that your tea exeperience was less than desireable. I appreciate your comments and I will address your concerns with my staff. We are always striving to improve. I hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you again. Be blessed, Marianne Maron Owner

My daughter, while still a student at Azusa Pacific University (graduate of 2006), told me about this ‘cute little teahouse’ while living in Azusa. She had bugged me about taking her there, but we never did while she was at APU, since her school and work schedule made it near impossible. Then, last year, I gave homemade tea invitations to my best friend, her mother, and her mother-in-law for their birthdays, with the plan to take all three of them at the same time. Sort of a ‘girl’s day out’. I had Two a Tea in mind, but scheduling it was difficult and so we kept putting it off. Well, January 2, 2008, we finally found the time and I decided to take my daughter, too. What a great way to start the new year! And, where Two a Tea ranks as number 7 in all of California, I was confident that we would all have a great time. Right away, we loved the looks of this teahouse. It is nestled quietly on a mostly residential corner of Vermont and Meda, with a huge 2-story window in the front. Although not Victorian in design, Two a Tea more than makes up for it with other attributes. There is street parking and a designated parking lot behind the business backing the south side of Two a Tea. There is a healthy growth of ivy covering one wall facing Vermont, with a white picket-fenced garden area bordering the building and running up towards Meda. It wraps around the front, allowing for a cozy and inviting entrance to the restaurant. I should note that the door facing Vermont is not the entrance, something we mistook it to be. The actual entrance is at the corner where Vermont and Meda meet. The garden area fronting Two a Tea had everything whimsical, from cup and saucer bird feeders to a topiary plant shaped like a woman wearing a wide brimmed hat. A very leafy Victorian lady! There is a very large sculpture of a teacup made from some sort of aggregate compound. I thought it very quirky and entertaining. A nice little whimsical accent. Once inside Two a Tea, the foyer spans two stories straight up, with a staircase along the far right side. Although the second story is off limits to patrons, it adds a bit of hominess to the overall feel. The cashier area sits just to the left of the staircase, with shelves filled with all kinds of antiques for sale, homemade mini chandeliers (that the proprietor makes!), and a piano along the Meda Ave side of the entrance. It was busy visually, but very attractive and interesting. The moment we walked in, the hostess asked if we had reservations. We did and I gave her my name, explaining that we were a bit early (10 minutes). We expected to wait a bit until the time of our reservation (1 pm), but she seated us almost immediately! I should note that there is a small tea area preceding the main room. I can’t remember how many tables it afforded, but it was nice and cozy. Once inside the main tea room, the overall décor’ was full-on Christmas, nothing held back, with a fully frocked Christmas tree, and oodles of decorations all around. Victorian themes throughout, with added touches of Whimsey. The walls were painted in wide, 18 inch stripes of gold and yellow, with accent colors of raspberry. See the photo gallery on Two a Tea's website. The seating was cozy and maybe a bit more so than necessary, as one waitress had a tight squeeze every time she had to get to the bay window area. Fortunately, she was a whisp of a thing so she managed. :0) I am certain that they are in alignment with safety codes, too. Every table had a holiday-themed tablecloth and centerpieces, with the china pattern keeping to the Christmas feel. Many teahouses have a little bit of everything, a mishmash of styles and patterns mixed together (which I like, btw), but it was somewhat refreshing to see a consistency like what Two a Tea had. Each cup at our table was identical, with the words Merry Christmas glazed on the inside. Poinsettia motifs decorated the exterior. It is quite possible that their ‘everyday’ décor’ offers the mixed china servings that I’ve often seen at other establishments, which is fine by me. I’m not that picky about stuff like that, anyway, so long as the plates and cups are clean – which ours were! Once seated, our waitress handed out the menus. I can’t remember the girl’s name, but she had a slight accent and was very polite and quite sweet. I should add that the night before, I printed out the menu from Two a Tea’s website for my guests to read during the ride out, to give them a preview of sorts. However, I was unaware that Two a Tea would be serving a special Christmas menu exclusively, with only two selections of tea service. At first, we were a bit apprehensive about that, but I have to say that overall, it was the best tea we had ever experienced! We had three of the Royal High Tea and two of the Queen’s Tea, since two members of our group did not want either a salad or soup, which both came with the former tea. When the waitress explained that only one type of scone would be available (gingerbread), we were at first disappointed. They had such a large selection of scones that we were looking forward to each ordering a different flavor and sharing. However, the gingerbread scones were delectable and our disappointment faded quite quickly! In fact, we all ordered extras to take home! The lemon curd, Devon cream, and orange marmalade jam were all very good, as well. The creamy pea soup was the best I have had, even though it was more of a pea broth than the typical chunky pea and ham soup, to which I am more accustomed. The flavors were evenly distributed, too, so much so that none overpowered the other, which is quite hard to do. Usually, I can discern spices and flavorings, but not with this pea soup! Two-thumbs up. The salad was yummy, as were the tea sandwiches. See the Christmas menu on their website for a list of what they offered. Even though the bread was dense and firm – probably due to its chilled condition – it was quite tender. The fact that they make their own bread was a huge plus! The fillings were a bit lean, but I never expect a thick spread of filling for tea sandwiches – especially with the more than generous Christmas menu these two tea selections espouse - so it was just about perfect. They also served mini quiches (quite yummy!) and their savory sweet potato pinwheels were to 'die for'!!! We could have had more of those, believe me! The Miniature Potato and Roasted Garlic Phyllo Cups were heavenly. Seriously, they had me begging for more and when my daughter couldn’t finish hers, I didn’t let it go to waste! LOL The tea selection is broad, but not large. This does not in any way detract from our experience, though. Sometimes, too many choices can make it difficult to decide. I had the Raspberry, my daughter had Vanilla Coconut, my best friend had Cherry Vanilla, and then there was a pot of Peach Apricot, and Cinnamon for my friend’s mom and mom-in-law. Everyone loved their selection. At one point near the end, my pot had run dry (I had it re-filled once, so I had plenty, but I love tea!), and so everyone at the table offered me a bit of theirs (minus my daughter’s, since I do not like coconut). I have to say that RaspberryCherryVanillaPeachApricotCinnamon blend is a very interesting tea! I loved it. (Hint hint to a new flavor! Razcherillachicotamon?) LOL The desserts did not disappoint, either, although I have to say that by this time (coupled with two pots of tea and ‘then’ some), I was filled to brimming. I did manage to devour the mini pecan tort and I smiled with every bite. I took home the brownie, the Russian teacake, and the triple chocolate chip cherry cookie to my husband to enjoy, which he did. He did let me have one small bite of the cookie - and counted himself lucky that I didn't take the entire thing after that! LOL I should note that my husband is a very finicky eater and rarely gives praise for food unless it is exceptional. So, it’s saying a lot that he was quite pleased with my ‘leftover offering’ from Two a Tea! With that thought in mind, one member in my group today is just as particular about food as my hubby is, especially regarding teahouse fare. She is not the least bit shy about expressing herself whenever disappointed, either. Her favorite teahouse was the ‘deceased’ Lah Tea Dah (sp?) in the Antelope Valley, and she has compared all other teahouses since then to LTD. Well, she was enthusiastically pleased and satisfied with Two a Tea. I believe she has found a new favorite. She, as well as the rest of us, loved the food, the décor’ (I learned that they will be changing from Christmas to their ‘everyday’ look come this weekend, January 5th), and the personal attention our sweet waitress bestowed upon us. The added plus was the tour and the history about Two a Tea that the manager took the time to give. The mural along the patio wall in their ‘secret’ koi garden is just gorgeous, reminiscent of Marty Bell’s cottage paintings. Our ‘hostess’ told us that all the art and décor were done and created by the proprietor MaryAnn (who was unable to be there due to another obligation)! Where my daughter is a budding art teacher (one more semester to get her teaching credential!) and an APU art graduate (BA in art 2006), she appreciated the talent. I liked the fact that there were extra rooms (the Library and the Conservatory) separate from the main tea area for overflow or private parties. Gives me ideas! :0) To summarize my review, I believe the Two a Tea is by far one of the best teahouses in the southern California area, if not THE best! Price wise, it was very affordable, considering all that we received and what I would get elsewhere for the same price. Also, the scones and the accompanying lemon curd, coddled cream, and jam can be ordered ‘to go’, too, and at a reasonable cost. I took four of these delightful treats home with me and I am currently having all I can do to keep from nibbling them away! I can’t wait for tomorrow morning! Should go well with my Chocolate Raspberry Truffle tea – or coffee. Anyway, so much for my diet. Overall, our tea lasted 2 hours, which may be a bit long on time for having tea, but it gave my party more opportunities to talk and chat and take in the ambience of this delightful teahouse. As an aside, the evening of my Two a Tea visit, MaryAnn called me at home to talk about my experience, since she wasn’t able to be there this afternoon due to other matters. I had made my reservations via email and we had corresponded briefly, so she really wanted to meet me. I had enclosed my phone number at one point, just in case she needed to get a hold of me for any reason. Nevertheless, this is the first time that anyone has had the interest to call me to make sure that I enjoyed myself. It was a nice personal touch, an art seemingly lost on most business owners, but one that MaryAnn apparently understands!

I have been to this tea house twice now. The first time they sat my friends and I at a table in the baywindow area where the curtain was constantly in my face. When I asked if we could change tables, as there was no one else there at the time, the waitress told me they never had that problem before, nobody had ever come that was as big as me (thank you very much). They finally changed our table. Service was slow and food was passable. Presentation was only OK. I've seen better. The second time my friend and I went for tea they had no record of the reservation I made the week prior. They sat us in the 'library' in a corner where my friend's chair interlocked with a chair from a table next to ours because they were sooooo close. Our service was terrible and the food only passable. I have given them two tries. I won't be back for a third time.

      Tearoom response:

      Dear Ms. Stout,
I'm sorry your experience with Two A Tea was less that desirable. The business has changed ownership, though, and I hope you will give us another chance so that I may have the opportunity to serve you personally!
Blessings,
Kristi

We are truly stunned to see anything other than rhapsodiszng in reference to this utterly charming tea room! We make the trip from Orange County just to enjoy their fabulous scones and decor,(which at CHRISTmastime is just as much a treat as the delicacies served!) We have only ever been to this dear little spot, when it was filled to the brim with happy tea-goers, which we can only assume, is an obvious sign that there are many who agree with us... this is an experience that cannot be missed. As for the servers being properly attired to serve high tea?...since we are not in England and the queen is nowhere in sight, we think these wonderfully sweet and attentive servers always treat us like royalty and they fit this darling American shop, 'two a tea'. It is Fabulous!

I went to tea by myself one day at Two A Tea, and really enjoyed the food, from the scone to the dessert, and the service. So much so that I made reservations to bring the women in my family for a Christmas Tea. My expectations were very high as we got there but I must say that I was somewhat disappointed with the experience. First of all, there were 12 of us and we were seated in the area by the main hallway. We did have privacy but it was so tight and I couldn't even see my nieces who were seated by the window and the 'cooler' that stored food and vegetables. The scones were great, but did the clotted cream have cream cheese in it? I've never had that before. The tea sandwiches were not very tasty, in fact, the pimiento and cucumber sandwich were bland. The desserts were very good, though. And our server was really pleasant and attentive. She made the experience a good one for me. I hope that was a fluke and maybe I'll try to go there again one day.

I just made a huge blunder in my rating of a tearoom just now. It is not Two for Tea that I had been to today and all the other visits but Two A Tea in Glendora. See I'm so relaxed and calm after such a wonderful tea party that I can't even think straight. Two A Tea is a wonderful tearoom, excellent food and great service. Thank you again for a another beautiful experience.

Although this place receives good reviews, I suspect the owner or 'pastery chef' has a hand in doing away with the unpleassant or poor reveiws. My guest and I attended a party here recently, and were astonished to find the utter lack of quality and friendliness that Two a Tea is supposedly known for! Our party was stuffed in amongst other guests in the biggest room of this place, and our server seemed like she was high on something as she couldn't remember half the things we asked for, such as water or more sream for our scones in addition to wearing absolutely inappropriate clothing to serve high tea in!! Once the food FINALLymade its way out it too was less than stellar. Even though our host had ordered in advance, the wait time from tea arrival to food arrival was literally an hour. There was no excuse for such a wait time and the server hardly made mention of it. I won't go into the poor quality of food or the band tea taste, but lets just say that I WOULD NEVER throw a party here, and I feel bad for my friend that wasted her time, money, and memories at this place!! The owner might want to do some re-training of her staff!

      Tearoom response:

Dear Rachel; I don't know where to begin other than to say I am sorry. There is no excuse for poor service. We are not in any way able to remove any review. I would like to know what day your reservations were for so I could go back into the book and make some sense of it all. I personally work very hard on our menu and always am asking for feedback. I am now even making my own bread. As for clothing I will address that with my staff. Please give two a new another chance and I ask if you would introduce your self to me the next time you come in so that I may serve you personally. with sincerest warmth. Marianne

I visited Two A Tea today for the first time. It was wonderful! The ambiance was very pleasant, the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered “The Royal High Tea” with raspberry herbal tea. The tea had an excellent flavor—delicate, but not weak, and flavorful enough that I didn’t feel the need to add any sweetener. The scones today were blueberry, and they were soft and light. They were fresh out of the oven and fabulous, especially with the lemon curd, clotted cream, and berry preserves. The soup (chicken, wild rice, and portabella mushroom) was superb, as was the salad with feta dressing. The sandwiches were all very good, and the dessert (pumpkin gingerbread with caramel and apple compote) was simply delicious. I would love to return to this tea house, and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

My cousin and I are visiting all the area tea rooms to enjoy some time together and assess their excellence (a good excuse). Two A Tea has been the VERY best so far. Decor is elegant shabby chic. We had fruit flavored teas that were inspired. Excellent scone - the best we have tasted anywhere - the soups are delicious and the rest is very good. Quite surprised to see any criticisms here. I will visit this tea room again and again and recommend others do the same.

It is so unfortunate that the food was very lacking here because the service and ambiance were terrific. Great gals working here who go all out to make your afternoon a very pleasant one. The house is also delightful. However, the sandwiches had no special touch such as with Frill's in Monrovia or Brabara's Tea House in Rancho Cucamonga. They were plain and ordinary sandwiches. Then you have a dessert that was very small and served with canned peaches. We most likely will not retrun here, despite the outstanding service.

My friend & I drove 30 miles to visit this tea room -the picture on the website was very generous as compared to the actual house The tea selection was very good, the scones were very tasty, however they could have come out of the oven a lot sooner. The soup was absolutley delicious as was the salad. I cannot give the tea sandwiches a good grade, not even a 'fair' as they were ALL BREAD and a smear of filling. The dessert choices were 3 of chocolate and one of a fruit..so you were pretty much out of luck if you didn't really love chocolate. The seating is also, extremely 'snug' . Even with other empty tables available a party was seated so close to us - we could almost touch elbows and hear each others conversations. Sorry - too far to drive to come again for this little tea room

I discovered Two-A-Tea on this website a few months ago. I have enjoyed many tearooms in the last few years but the specialty teas, homemade scones, sandwiches and desserts at Two-A-Tea were by far the best! (The offering of soup and salad is an added bonus and the chicken and wild rice soup is delicious!) I had my daughter-in-law’s baby shower at Two-A-Tea on May 5, 2007. I was very excited to invite our friends and family to the shower to enjoy a special afternoon in honor of my daughter-in-law. The event was exceptional and my daughter-in-law was thrilled. I have to say that the pastry chef went above and beyond making the ‘Onsie Cookies.’ Each cookie was decorated with a different design and individualized with each guest’s name. They made a wonderful place-card and something unique for everyone to take home. The homemade cookies were awesome and gave the event that ‘special’ touch. I can’t say enough about this wonderful Victorian tearoom, I will be returning many more times!

The waiting area was small and cramped and there was noone to greet us. We were ignored until we were called to be seated 15-20 minutes after our reservation time but lucky for them, the tea selection, scones, dessert and service (once seated) were worth the wait! I've been there 3 times now and I've always found it just perfect, food, ambiance and a touch of class that one doesn't find elsewhere. JUST A PURE JOY! Thank you Marianne and Babara for taking their time to tell my grand-daugther about Tea Houses. She went home to tell her mommy and daddy what a wonderful time she had. Of course, it made this grandma happy as a clam. Thank-you very much and God bless you and yours. Carolyn S. in Glendora

My girlfriend invited me and a few other friends to tea at this place. I looked at the pictures of this place on the web and thought I might not like the decor because it was Victorian - I'm not very found of Victorian. To my surprise, it was decorated very warm and homey. I loved the location, too. It's right at the foothill of the San Gabriel Mountains. The street was quiet. Now on to the food - the scone was soft and yummy (although I still prefer the traditional 'hard' scone - the scone here tasted a bit like a muffin). The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. I wish they would give more tea sandwiches. We got a cucumber sandwich, a turkey and walnut sandwich, and an egg sandwich (the egg sandwich was small). They gave us a lot of pastries, sweets, and cookies, but I really just wanted more sandwiches. We were also given pomegranate sorbet. We had 4 different kinds of tea: Christmas spice tea, peach apricot tea, earl grey tea, and chocolate vanilla tea. The chocolate vanilla tea went really well with the desserts. The lady working there was nice and friendly. She tried to explain all the ingredients in the food (although there were just way too much food/desserts to explain - sometimes we just wanted to be left alone). I also wanted to mention - each of us girls went to visit the restroom. It was really cozy and pretty. :) Overall it was a great afternoon tea place.

I went here for the first time with a girlfriend. Keep in mind I have been to many many tea house in Southern California, this place is exqusite. the service was great, the food even better. The scones are fresh and taste great. From the sandwiches to the soups and salads along with the home made desserts everything was great. You can tell everything is homemade with great ingredients. Everyone needs to come here at least once for the great experience and service. The owner served and mingled. I would definitely come back.

We visited Two a Tea today and had a wonderful time. Our server, Barbara, was delightful. She went out of her way to make our experience memorable and made sure we didn't hurry through our Royal High Tea. The food was excellent and the 'love' was in the details of both the presentation and the ambiance of the room.

I experienced my first formal Tea today and although I am inexperienced in the ritual of 'Tea' I enjoy food when it's lovingly prepared and thoughtfuly presented. It is evident that the owner of Two A Tea, Marianne, has mastered the art of food preparation. The scones melted in my mouth, the sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the soup and salad made my mouth water and left me with a desire for more soup/salad! The fruit was sweet and when I did not care for my first tea selection, it was cheerfuly replaced with another. The desserts are all Marianne's recipies (as are all the dishes) and I would have loved to have had a teaspoon of each dessert described, but had to settle for only one that was out of this world. Fortunately I was able to taste my dinning partners dessert as well! I am ecstatic that we were graciously seated without a reservation (I wouldn't recommend doing it my way!) so that I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday in such beautiful and well considered surroundings. The pride of ownership is evident in this establishment and consideration to detail has been communicated to the servers. Marianne, thank you for a wonderful experience and first introduction to 'high tea'. The bar has been drawn and I think it will be difficult to find another place in the SG valley that meets up to the standard of Two A Tea. Please continue to stop by the tables to chat and check on how your guests are doing!

I brought my Dad & Mum from Canada to visit and had lunch at the Tearoom and was overwhelmed by the excellent food and outstanding service. It was the best meal my Dad & Mum said they had while visiting here for the past 10 days.I hope anyone who plans on a excellent tearoom experience to visit this one anytime.

This tea house is quite comfortable, and is decorated quite nicely. It is easy to relax and enjoy. The food here ranges greatly in quality. The soup (chicken and wild mushroom) was just EXCELLENT, and the salad was tasty as could be and more than filling. The tea sandwiches however were disappointing. The bread for all three varities was plain white bread, and not very fresh either. The fillings were less than bland. I was very surprised at how disappointed I was in the sandwiches since just thinking about the soup and salad make my mouth water. The scones were delicious. They were big and moist. The scones were a cherry, coconut flavor and I enjoyed every bite -- I don't even like coconut. One scone at our table of four was served with a few long blonde hairs coming out of the bottom. This was, needless to say, quite unappetizing! I was surprised that the tea was not loose, and instead brewed from bags. I can do this at home. I do enjoy loose leaf tea at a tea parlour. The ambiance is lovely, and the servers are quite friendly. Maybe too friendy. When I go to tea, I want to enjoy the company at my table. Both the server, Barbara, and the owner spent quite a bit of time (over 30 minutes) at our table telling us about their families, goals for the future, past reviews, etc. That's not what I have in mind for conversation at tea. I don't even know them - I wanted quality time with my family. Overall, a satisfying experience if you're good at cutting short a conversation, and don't want tea sandwiches.

Everything,s scrumptious and for a great price! Go check it out!

Two A Tea is the most consistant tea shop that I have been to. I go to tea with my mom and sister in law and it is rare that we find a place that we all agree on. And it is alaso rare that we like a place the second time. Two a tea always makes you feel like an important customer. Marianne the proprietor has come and talked to us everytime we've been there to make sure that we have enjoyed everything. And always we end up talking to her for a while because she is so friendly and seems to love what she is doing. Everytime we go the place setting are different, so it is fun to see the new decor. Also the menu has been different each time, but always delicious. Really, it's a great place!

I've been going to tea once a month since I was five years old, and I've learned to appreciate a good tea parlour, this is one of the best. It may lack some of the finery of modern teas at the Four Seasons or the Ritz, but that is more than made up for in excellent food, charming atmosphere, and the brilliantly period feel of the place. Two A Tea is FANTASTIC for anything from a special occasion to a quiet afternoon to yourself. Everything is wonderful, and they have the best scones I've tasted since La Tea Da closed down a few years ago. Amazing, simply stunning.

My Baby Shower was the event that leads us to Two A Tea, and I must say it was a wonderful experience! I have frequented other tea houses, but none had the variety in their menu and teas as Two A Tea! All of the ladies were very satisfied with their variety and exquisite items. They were so satisfied that they kept mentioning all of the great menu items over and over again. On our visit we were lucky enough to taste the crab chowder soup and it was the item that the ladies were most impressed with. Even the non-Seafood lovers finished their portions! They were happy with the selection of teas offered and thought it was by far the best selection they have ever encountered! It was definitely a moment that I will cherish for quite some time. Thank you to all the staff at Two A Tea that helped make my Baby Shower such a success! I wish you all the best!

My daughters and I were visiting the Glendora area for spring break from Arizona. Thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and the marvelously elegant 'Royal High Tea' five course menu option, we made precious memories with our friends over a three hour lunch there. We enjoyed Two A Tea as a group of seven 'ladies' ranging in age from 11 on up to the mom's in our forties. Each age seemed to be having a thoroughly enjoyable time. We spent about three hours relaxing and taking in every nuance we could. The food, decor, ambiance, service, and of course the various teas truly exceeded all of our expectations. We had so much fun at our lunch 'event' that we would recommend it highly to any wishing for the 'tea of their lives'.

My two girlfriends, my daughter and I had a beautiful time at Two a Tea on Saturday 3/11/06. We were celebrating my birthday. Wow what a treat! Our hostess Lara was simply fabulous, she was extremely attentive to us and a gracious host. Most of us had the Queen’s Tea. The scones are freshly made and fresh out of the oven, yum! The atmosphere is simply lovely. We met the owner Marianne, she took time out of her busy schedule to meet with us and share her heart. She told us how God had placed it upon her heart to open this establishment. We discovered she is a Christian women with a love for God’s work. She made sure we were comfortable and were satisfied with every detail, which we were. This is definitely a birthday for me to remember. I highly recommend this tea room to everyone, you won’t be disappointed, such care and love is poured into this place. My girlfriends and I will definitely revisit Two A Tea.

Are all of these reviewers friends of the owner? I am amazed at the good reviews! I have been to this tea house three times. The first time was right after they opened and the service was unorganized. The second time I brought my nine year old daughter in for our yearly 'back to school tea' together. The service was still slow and unfriendly. The sandwiches were stale, and the desserts were obviously store bought. The third and definitely last time I went, I was going to meet friends for tea, and mistakenly thought they had said we were to meet at this tea house. I walked in, in the middle of a busy afternoon, and the owner was standing there in sweat pants. I asked her if she has a reservation for my group, and she proceeded to sit down on the stairs, tell me how tired she was because she had to get up early to do the baking, and yelled upstairs to her husband to ask if he had taken the reservation. It turns out I was supposed to be at the Enchanted Rose in San Dimas. This was some of the tackiest behaviors I have seen! This tea house is filled with antiques that never seem to sell because of the amount of dust on them, it is very cluttered, including an empty bakery refridgerator display case wedged into the entry. Of the many tea rooms I have visited, this is the worst.

I pored over reviews on this site for a worthwhile tea service near Orange County. I live near Berkeley/San Francisco and am accustomed to some wonderful tea menus, so hyping up the tea experience to my parents and sibling living in Southern California was a little nerve-wracking when it came time to deliver the goods. My sister was celebrating her 21st birthday three weekends ago so I finally decided to trust the reviews for Two A Tea and suggested my family convene for their first high tea experience. I was very impressed with Two A Tea! The value was honestly more than I could have hoped for, everyone in my party of six had the Royal High Tea: tea, scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and preserves, sandwiches--I think there were 6 quarters/1.5 whole sandwiches, soup of the day, salad, a lot of fresh fruit, and a dessert from a fantastic selection. All that for $18.95, it was ridiculous. Tea was loose, a very small but noticeably thoughtful touch. I had a decaf Vanilla that was aromatic and smooth, others had Peach Apricot (a must try!), Cherry Vanilla, Raspberry and Irish Breakfast (the server helped my boyfriend reach his desired steepness so the tea came out beautifully, I plan to order this tea next time). I believe the soup was Chicken Tortilla, an excellent tomato blend made that day by the proprietor--she knows her spices! The salad was delicious with a tasty cheese (can't remember if it was goat cheese or Roquefort now, but I really enjoyed it). Each person had a quarter of six different sandwiches, there was one with vine tomatoes, one with turkey, and maybe a pesto something?...three weeks ago is too long to remember exactly, other than I thought they were all very tasty (but I was already pretty full from the tea, soup and salad). The fruit included extremely fresh pineapple, grapes and blueberries. Now the desserts, they were so wonderful! They change frequently, but either the proprietor or one of the assistants made a chocolate mousse...it was delightfully light and sweet. Even if they gave you a bucketful, you could eat the whole thing and convince yourself you could eat more. There was a cobbler, apple and pear I think, a lemon custard cake that was a new concoction of the owner's and a bread pudding type thing made with croissant dough among other tasty ingredients. We got to try all four choices plus duplicates thanks to my party's size and every one was delectable. I still can't get over how good the chocolate mousse was, but I'd gladly return for the others as well. The service was fantastic, everyone was so polite I almost didn't know what to do with myself. I stepped in one of our server's way and she apologised so sincerly for getting in *my* way I almost couldn't believe it. They warmed our pots and were very attentive to all of our requests. The house is decorated very delicately with pretty doilies and pictures, but as soon as any male guests get ahold of the food none of that matters. I definitely plan to return on my next trip south, and my family said they never knew what they were missing! I highly recommend Two A Tea, it *almost* beats my favorite SF tea room, Lovejoy's, and that's a feat.

My husband and I enjoyed the “Night in Paris” dinner on Valentine’s Day. What a WONDERFUL experience. The stilton bleu cheese scone was so delicious; I’m placing a special order to serve at a brunch later this month. Each course made us feel like we were experiencing a 5 star culinary tour. The soup was divine so I can only imagine that the regular hour tea service is wonderful. I have been to many tea houses before, usually with my mom or cousin, but I am pleased to say that this is the only one my husband agreed to go back to—the food is that good!! The owners take great care in serving their customers and making the experience a memorable one, they even took pictures of all the couples to send as a keepsake. We can’t wait until the next dinner event!

What a warm, wonderful and authentic atmosohere just filled with antiques and collectibles nestled in a cozy old world cottage. Ordinarily I'm not a tea lover but there was a variety of choices served in elegant teacups with matching individual teapots which was flavorfully unique and delicious. The subtly seasoned sandwiches were accompanied by the soup of the day and a fresh green salad. Scrumptious scones with several sauces were served which was perfect with the piping hot tea. It was so easy to relax and enjoy the experience of the creative cuisine. An Oh those fresh baked desserts were a culinary delight. The service was great and the waitress was as sweet and cordial as the hostess Marianne Maron, who took the time to exchange pleasantries with her customers which made you feel like an honored guest. Everything served tasted as good as it looked, and I highly recommend it because it is truly a tea room to be remembered.
