Cozy and homey atmosphere. Delicious tea items, nice variety and friendly service. All ready when we arrived as we pre-ordered the light afternoon tea, even had our name on the front board and on the table. Fantastic variety of teas, the two we tried were tasty and I bought my own little bag to take home. Not rush, very relaxing.

Again, I repeat--no one does it like Tea Leaves and Thyme! There are very restaurants that I feel as comfortable as I do here. Can't thank Kim enough for delighting us over and over again!

Because of distance, I only get to Tea Leaves and Thyme once or twice a year, and it has remained consistently wonderful and always worth the trip! Yesterday was special because it seemed to be Back To School Tea Time with many groups with elementary school girls enjoying Tea, hats, fun and fellowship. Thanks for keeping this tradition alive for all ages.

The food was amazing and the tea was so flavorful! I had the apple and cheddar quiche; it was divine! The tea of the day was a black currant and was so smooth and sweet. We also had the 'peachy keen' tea, which was a little stronger, but still just as flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant, calming atmosphere! If you're considering visiting Tea Leaves and Thyme, please do! You won't be disappointed.

This tea house has the best food ever!! I had iced peach tea and the light afternoon tea tray. It was just delicious! My sister ordered the chicken salad plate, tomato, basil, and pecan soup, and English sausage rolls with hot peach tea..she loved every single bite!! The owner is really the quintessential Southern hostess and goes way out of her way to make things right. This is the 4th time I've been here and will be back again and again!! If you don't try this tea house, you'll be missing a lovely experience. Oh, the gift shop offers unique and lovely items for all ages. Thanks Tea Leaves and Thyme.

I love this tea room. I love the amaretto cream & lemon curd with my scones. Nothing like it in any other tea room I've been too. I travel to tea rooms and thoroughly enjoyed my experience a few weekends ago with my friends. They were able to accommodate my party at the last minute which was great. The only problem was my teacup had lipstick. My suggestion is to provide more savory sandwiches on the tea tray. The desserts on the tray are very sweet. I would add some variety. I only like the lemon bar.

I am an avid tea drinker and I came in looking for unique things to include in a package I'm putting together. The gift shop area was really nice, and the tea selection was impressive. I was disappointed that one tea on the list that seemed perfect is no longer available - a note to that effect on the list of teas would be great. The staff were helpful enough, but a bit condescending.

This is a beautiful tearoom and the food was delicious. My friend and I visit tearooms as we travel and this is one of the best. We had quiche and salad with scones and Cransberry Autumn tea. It was by far the best quiche and tea I've ever had. We made some purchases in the well stocked and unique gift items shop. We highly recommend this tearoom!

I visited Tea Leaves & Thyme for the second time today and once again, was thrilled to bits. The food was wonderful and elegantly presented, the setting is quaint, and the waitstaff provides excellent personalized service! Our server even brought out a tiny cup for tea and little dishes of lemon curd and cream for my daughter's stuffed dog toy. We will be back!

My group of ladies dined at Tea Leaves and Thyme this past Tuesday, and everyone was so pleased. My chicken quesadilla, tho unusual for a tea room, was excellent! The presentation of each plate was excellent. The pumpkin tea was delicious. We will definitely return for another visit.

As I am not a tea expert I can not speak to the variety of tea or the artisy of prepartion, but I can speak to the absolutly wonderful service. I take my 5 yr old twins there about once a month and the staff is absolutly fabulous with them. We have been when it's busy, when it's slow, and everything in between and have always had wonderfully attentive service. The food is consistently great. I love being able to take my daughters somewhere with such great people and a slightly slower pace. Don't get me wrong, the servers are buzzing busily along, but you are never made to feel rushed or that you are in their way. I love it and so do they!

My husband and I stopped for lunch. He tasted 3 different hot teas that he said were delicious. I had peach iced tea. Excellent! He had the pecan-crusted chicken over a salad and I had chicken salad/croissant. Scones with amoretto butter and lemon curd were wonderful! Will be back!! Service and server were excellent as well.

Tea Leaves and Thyme is a charming tea house with a whimsical, comfortable atmosphere. It has the feeling of entering grandma's cozy home, with something interesting to look at in every corner. I made reservations at Tea Leaves and Thyme for a friend and I to have full tea in celebration of my friends birthday. We both enjoy tea and finger food...so I figured a tea house would be the perfect choice. I was looking for a friendly yet professional place with a good tea selection, tasty food, and warm atmosphere. Tea Leaves and Thyme not only met but exceeded my expectations plus the pricing was more than fair....no jacked up costs just because it's a specialty business or any of that. Our server was wonderful and very attentive even though the place was packed we were never left wanting. They really think of every detail here. I have visited serveral tea rooms in the Atlanta area...and this tea room was exceptional compared to the others. If you want a fun, warm, professional and wonderful tea room experience this is the place to visit. Plus they have a hugh seclection of teas to choose from. Thank you Tea Leaves and Thyme..can't wait to see you again!

I travelled from Peachtree City to meet a friend for tea and lunch. We hadn't seen each other in a long time, nor had we ever been to Tea Leaves and Thyme. We had the BEST time. We never felt rushed; in fact we were treated like old friends over for lunch. We ordered a pot of Masala Chai tea to sip before ordering lunch. The tea was outstanding, steeped to perfection! After watching the various dishes being served in the busy tea room (make a reservation!!) I decided on the special salad and tomatoe soup. The soup was out of this world and the Pecan Chicken Salad with grapes and bleu cheese was unbelievable!!! We had a small tray of cakes with out last pot of tea. I will be back with my little girls for a Christmas Treat! Thank you for a great day!!!

It's been awhile since I posted a review of this fantastic tea room, but since our group goes here several times a year - here we go! First, it's the most affordable of all the tea rooms in the Atlanta area. I'm not sure how the owner, the lovely Kim, can afford to keep her Full Afternoon Tea at $15. It's a steal for all the delicious scones, sandwiches and desserts they provide - not to mention your bottomless pot of tea. I really love the almond flavored cream - it's delicious! Kristin, the chef, is a ball of enthusiasm and gleeful energy. We love seeing her when we visit and she takes great delight in telling us about her latest confections. She's passionate about food and it shows in the fantastic offerings. The tea room also recently extended it's hours to include a breakfast/brunch - which also features some amazingly good food. Definitely worth a try. Overall, this is by far one of my favorite tea rooms in the area and I'm so glad they have enjoyed the success they have. I've also used them at parties in a catering capacity and that was also a huge success. Ask about buying their desserts for your own parties/events. Love this place!!

I love Tea Leaves and Thyme- it has been a wonderful tea room for many years. To the 'tea lover' who posted the latest review- please allow the owner to speak their mind- they have the ability to respond to all reviews. You may be giving the wrong impression to perspective guests. Tea Map is a wonderful tool to promote wonderful tea rooms and Tea Leaves and Thyme is certainly one of the best! Visit and visit often!

    • A Tearoom Lover

      

Many Tearooms are labors of love created by Entrepreneurs with a passion for all things tea! However, people seem to forget that Tearooms are actually fully functioning Specialty Restaurants. Reservations are a necessity. If you are late, that is your fault. If you don't tell them the true number in your party, how can they make the correct individual amount of food? Have you ever stopped to consider that a typical tea tray consists of approximately 10-15 different petite sized food items per person? Or that it costs more to produce tea trays, then a regular luncheon menu, and that if you expect white glove service, that it will cost for this 'extra' service? Please remember that most Tearooms are small businesses, and the profit margin is only about 20%. Tearooms are unique and should offer a 'different' experience than a normal restaurant, but please stop to consider whether your expectations may be unreasonable. Some women want to arrive unannounced, take up a table for 3 hours sipping on a $4 bottomless pot of tea while writing Xmas cards. If it were your business, would it be professionally wise to allow those types of customers to make a 2-4 person service table into their personal kitchen table? Also, could you do so without raising your prices and/or putting yourself out of business? Try to think from the Owner's perspective; then, maybe you won't be so disappointed or unreasonably expectant of Tearooms and their offerings. Please don't allow romantic idealism to become the ruin of our top GA Tearooms. Thank you for your appreciated support!

Step back into an era of old world charm and service in a nostalgic, historic home. Creme brulee and chocolate mint are excellent fresh brewed hot teas. The savory tartlet platter and the salad trio are two of my favorites. The food is always consistant in taste and flavor as well as presentation. The decandent chocolate mint brownie is always a nice birthday treat. Your arrival is anticipated with your reservation name on the board and your table reserved. The wait staff is always efficient, friendly, and interactive. Kim, the owner, is usually nearby to ensure your visit is the best. Suzanne selects a wide range of unique gifts from baby to adulthood with the most discerning buyer in mind. One visit will ensure Tea Leaves and Thyme is a favorite place to dine and relax with friends and/or family.

I have been to much better teas. I was very disappointed, although one can not like them all. The food was not very good, I thought I was eating a mayonnaise sandwich, no taste. The desserts were overly sweet. The one scone was plain, no fruit or taste and they were all like a lump of dough. The service however was excellent.

My daughter is 8, and for her 8th birthday her plan was to have a sleepover with 2 of her best friends, and then go to tea the next day. The staff was amazing at making my little girls feel like little southern belles. They were very accomadating for a busy Saturday afternoon. I do have one suggestion however. It might not be the norm, but I have 2 nieces and another daughter who are all 3 and under, and they are very well behaved when on outing. However, They cannot seat in regular seats yet. This tea house has no toddler seats or chairs. I would suggest they maybe get at least a few. If not for any other reason then for adorable big sister and baby sister tea parties. We would visit the tea house much more often if I didn't have to worry about where to sit my 8 year olds baby sister.

I have visited many tearooms in GA and around the south, this was not my best experience. I called last week to make reservations for my two sons (7,10), my mother, and myself. I pre-ordered the mad-hatter tea for the children. They post their menu online, and it was the same one they showed me when we arrived. However, I am disappointed to say that what came from the kitchen was in no way what was on the menu for the children's tea. I am normally the type to roll with things, but I was really upset. My 7 year old has special needs and eats a very restricted diet. Half the items that were on the childrens tea menu that I new he could eat were not included on our tray. He ended up eating two scones and had some hot chocolate. I had to take him to fast food after we left because he was still hungry. Everything tasted okay, but I just wished that the mad hatter tea included what it was suppose to. I went to a lot of trouble to scope out the tearoom and menu before hand for my son. I was really disappointed

Tea Map is a tool that was intended to used to connect tea lovers to great tea rooms in the U.S. It seems a shame that too often it has become used to harshly criticize and nit pick. Tea Leave and Thyme has been in the tea business far longer than most U.S. tea rooms and strives to give everyone a relaxing respite in this crazy hectic world. Thank you for doing such an excellent job with such grace. We need more places like yours!

Well, we have been here before and some things have seemed better in the past, but the scones were warm and fresh. The lemon curd was delicious too. Now for the other... the soup was awful a sweet red pepper or tomato or something, no no no. The presentation of the food is always nice and the tea is hot and very good too. Love the greens on the salad, but there needs to be another dressing choice or two, so my rating on quality of food really is more about variety (lack of) more than quality. The gift shop was really cute and the over all service was good.

I wen to this tea room with a chip on my shoulder for a brida shower. I had read all of the reviews about how bad it was with the service, food, and service. I was greeted by lovely people with pleasant smiles and my party was greeted on the board by the door. I was immediately seated and offered the tea of the day or water until my personal selection of tea was ready. The food was amaing. The party ordered off the menu all 10 of us and even with appetizers it only took about 10 minutes to get our food, all of us at the same time. The server, HEather, was cheery and so great helping wih gifts and with our elderly guests. I was even offered cary out service for the gifts. I love this resaurant and want to tell all of you give it a real try.

I have eaten here and the food was ok, but after hearing how the owner, Kim, treats her staff, it turned my stomach. She borders on psycho with her critizims, malicious behavior and snappish additude. I talked to someone else that was dining there and said she snapped at her sister when she said the food was 'pretty good' apparently the owner thought that was negative... this tea shop just lost a LOT of business from the people in my office

Somebody with great tea enthusiasm has done a nice job in running their own tearoom. However, unforturnately, when guests are greeted by a less than enthusiastic hostess and then hear staff members discussing about how difficult a day it's been and how it's only going to get worse, it doesn't make for a nice afternoon tea experience for the guests. The tea itself was good. The price was fair for the afternoon tea food served. I left feeling a bit stressed out instead of relaxed. Beautiful place though.

Tea was wonderful & hot well prepared. Loved the decor and un-crowded feeling. . Not sure the hostess? or person 'greeting' & seating is well suited for the job,as she was almost rude. (not sure how to describe it) Service was a bit slow with water refills and removing of used dishes, considering they were not too busy. Salad and quiche were wonderful at our table, chicken salad and other food was mediocre at best. Loved the gift shop area and the cashier was helpful. Probably won't make a special effort to go there again, since some of the food was good, but some was very so so.

I am hosting a bridal shower for my sister in August so I wanted to check this teahouse out. Everything about this place is wonderful. My mother had the Curry Almond Rolls and the House Salad, I had the Light Afternoon Tea, and my 4 year old daughter had the Mad Hatter Tea. Every little bite on my three tier afternoon tea tray was delicious and flavorful. The Mad Hatter Tea that my daughter received was whimsical and 'yummy' and my mother enjoyed every bite of her food. Karen, our server, was excellent. We never wanted for anything. Kim, the owner, answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. This review is from a visit exactly a year ago, because I just found this website. I gave a bridesmaids luncheon there for my daughter. We wanted a very Southern experience, as the groom's family are from the midwest. We had so mych fun. All the girls wore vintage hats that were in the foyer. We were in a darling private room. I eat here every chance that I get. The food is always great and obviously made fresh. I have never had a bad experience eating at Tea Leaves & Thyme and I have tons of great memories there with everything from baby and wedding showers to just a quiet lunch for two with my husband. Always a good time!

My daughter and I thought that the food was rather lacking as well. I had the curried chicken balls which I thought were good but you HAVE to like CURRY! The server was very nice and cheerful but we did not even get a 'thank you/come back' as we left from the woman at the door. And we traveled quite a way. Probably won't go back.

This tea room was pleasant and really nice in all areas except the food. I don't understand how all the reviews say how wonderful the food is! The chicken salad was just okay, sort of dry and ultra plain, the 'curried' chicken balls, were just awful, (no other way to describe it.) Our table had a pretty good variety, but we just picked at our food with a lot uneaten even though we were hungry. The prices were very reasonable, but I would rather pay more and have food that makes me always want to come back. Still not sure if we will go back though. Perhaps our little lunch group should give it another try because of the reviews on the food by many of the other patrons, I guess we just ordered the wrong things??? The service was really good as it should have been since they were not too busy at noon, the fresh flowers on the plates were a nice touch. I would probably stop in just for gift shopping. We were all just a bit disappointed after such rave reviews :0( Sorry to give this review, because there were so many other good things about the place, but still baffled by other reviews and had to be honest here.

We were a group of five for the full tea service. The tea and preparation were wonderful, the service, decor, gift selection, and the little details were all really great...however...the food was just so so, to actually awful. The chicken salad was bland, the tea tray foods were sufficient, but certainly not memorable enough to have again. I must say that the warm tiny scones and lemon curd, were delicious and that alone with the tea, WOULD be worth visiting again and hopefully will be as fabulous the next time around. Next time we will only order the 'cream tea' service & perhaps food from the regular lunch menu.

I drove 20 miles to check out this restaurant after reading an article on four tea rooms in our local paper. I was very pleased with the entire experience. I'm glad I called ahead that morning to make a reservation as they were very busy for the holiday season. I ordered the Full Tea with the chicken salad croissant which was scrumptious. They had sugar cubes and artificial sweetners on the table and served milk upon my request. They even gave me a fresh pot of a different tea when the Christmas tea wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for that day. I switched to a vanilla spice which went well with the milk I was craving after having so many sweets. I enjoyed watching a little boy wearing an older man's hat savor each item of his children's tea. There was also a large group of red hat women there from an assisted living facility. The staff worked hard to accomodate the wheelchairs and walkers to make it an enjoyable lunch for everyone. I also bought several items from the gift shop which they gift wrapped for no extra charge. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back with guests of my own.

What a wonderful experience! I took my daughter(3yrs) to this tea house for so much needed mother-daughter time. It was perfect in every way. She loved dressing up and having a tea party. Our waiter was beyond wonderful and I will request her in the future. The food was so good that I really want to get in the car right now and drive(1 hr) to go have it again today. I have gone to ths Tea Room for quite a few years (since they were in their frist location) with special friends. The atmosphere is pleasant so I have returned repeatedly to have Tea with friends. The curry chicken balls have been on the menu for as long as I can remember and are not good in my opinion. The menu has slightly improved recently and is a little less repetitious. Food quality is good, not excellent. Servers aren't artful and milk is never served nor offered. Just recently were sugar cubes offered, a touch that I like... although raw sugar cubes are better than white sugar cubes. The gift shop is lovely and I often use the gift shop only.

I used to visit this tea room with friends in 2000 when I lived in Woodstock. One of the friends I made was from England and she even enjoyed visiting this tea room. We had a lot of fun wearing the hats and enjoyed the food. There was a really good tea, Christmas Spice, or something that was my favorite. I had no idea what to expect the first time I went to Tea Leaves and Thyme. It was for my company Christmas Luncheon in the early afternoon. We were seated rather quickly because we had a reservation. The decor seemed very appropriate. They also offer 'community hats', which was a nice touch. The selection of tea was amazing, but we choose the tea of the day, which was Christmas and it was wonderful. Probably my favorite tea to date, but it's a seasonal tea and hard to come by. I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich, as it was the best I have ever had anywhere. The service was slow and the tea went quickly. Other than that, it was a neat experience and I plan to bring my daughter next time.

have been dining here (at my friends' insistence) since 1998 because it is a novelty. i have never been satisfied with the quality of the food, the portions are miniscule and the variety unusual (curry chicken balls, yech). we always leave food uneaten and the desserts taste pre-packaged. the tea is average: tepid and weak and not much of a selection. never wore any of the hats displayed in the room, nor one of my own, although many do. the clintele is 'older' the red hat society age group. the tables are very close together and an intimate lunch is not possible. the service is not friendly. in the future, will try some of the other tea rooms in the area.

Tea Leaves and Thyme was absolutely the perfect setting for my guest(whom I had not seen in years)and I to have afternoon tea,to share hearts and ponder life.We were greeted and welcomed at the door by the proprietor, seated at a lovely table tucked away in a parlor with whimsical music playing. The linens, china and silver were of varying patterns which added to the ecclectic charm of the old restored house. The presentation of our meal was artistically adorned with ivy and fresh flowers. The food delicious, the ambience perfect! Our server 'Sandy' was very pleasant and accomodating. We ended our visit browsing through the delightful gift shop which was displayed with tasteful tea items and gifts. Tea Leaves & Thyme is one of my favorite places to visit when I need to relax and pamper myself. I enjoy the variety of teas and the delightful creations that the chefs prepare. I have always had excellent service (no other tearoom I’ve visited will pour my first cup of tea for me) and find the overall accommodations quite fitting the image of a tearoom. I, for one, do not enjoy sitting in one large room with pipes and ductwork visible high overhead. While those rooms might give the disco-tech atmosphere to the younger generations while they sip their expensive coffees, this lady will remain with the old-world class and style of a proper tearoom such as Tea Leaves & Thyme.

Very over-rated tearoom and I find the hats (how are they sanitized between wearers) and the furs very offensive and unsanitary. The food portions are very skimpy and not overly tasty. Some of the reviewing patrons here need to get out more and experience other tearooms in the metro area that is for sure. I am sure that the reviews would change quite a bit after that.

I have recently discovered 'Tea Rooms' and am exploring them with my neighbor, a fellow 'tea fan'. This is the fourth one I have gone to and must say the food was good. We had the full afternoon tea and were quite impressed with the three tiered tray. The chicken salad was ok, not the best I have had. The prices I feel are very good compared to what I have payed at other establishments. Service left something to be desired, our teenage male waiter looked as if he wished he were somewhere else. Also, the windex spray used to clean the table tops was very obnoxious to smell in the middle of a nice tea/lunch. I recommend to the owners to find an alternate cleaner, perhaps unscented. Other than that, I am sure I will be back.

Today was my first time ever going to a tea room. I must say that I thorougly enjoyed myself, as did the rest of the party that I was with. I must agree with some of the other reviews that the entry and gift shop are quite small and get crowded very easily. We had the full afternoon tea. I live in Woodstock, but I belong in the City(as in Atlanta), for now I consider Tea Leaves and Thyme the jewel of Woodstock, the fresh gourmet food and soothing atmoshpere I seek north of East Cobb & north of the perimeter. The food is fresh, portions could stand to be a little larger and the desserts could stand to get more creative. The sugarplum, rose congou and Chocolate Coconut teas are fantastic. The cheddar apple quiche is delicious. My only wishes besides creativty with the dessert is that they took Discover and that they were open more hours. This is the only place up here off 575 that I can think of that is fit to compete with restaurants and tea houses down in Atlanta where the freshness and quality of the food must be perfected since competition is STIFF.... I always leave here feeling soothed...

Like many of the reviewers, I think the place has excellent food and teas. However, there are two incidents that occurred during the same visit that I would like to caution other visitors on. First, the place is not child-friendly in that they have no high-chairs, booster seats, etc. Second, when I decide to order only soup, the waitress declined to take my order saying that I would have to order a minimum of $8-$10 worth of food, and that that was their policy. Due to these two sticking points, I would not be an enthusiastic second-timer.

I love having a chance to read other peoples thoughts about various tearooms, and especially my personal favorite, Tea Leaves and Thyme. I was concerned when Tea Leaves changed locations a couple of years ago, because sometimes when a business moves or expands, it loses some of the original coziness. I just spent a leisurely afternoon at Tea Leaves & Thyme last week. As for complaints of being 'dismissed', how long do you expect to be allowed for your reservation? I mean, you didn't have to wait for your table, but you expect the next reservation to? Give me a break. The food is made from scratch and is wonderful. They have a ton of different kinds of tea and steep them all to order. If you want more time, go during the week and later in the day. I have never been 'dismissed', probably because I was nice enough to consider other customers. Tea Leaves & Thyme rocks!

We really were disappointed in attending this tearoom. As a Red Hat Group AND when I took some personal friends there, I have been 'dismissed' after 1 1/2 hours of leisure lunching. To me this is not a tearoom. It's a restaraunt claiming to be a tearoom for publicity sake. If you are looking for a slow leisurely afternoon tea - DON'T go here. They 'tell' you -you only have 5 minutes left before the next customer is coming in for your table.
