Mediocre food, mediocre service, dishonest management who first told us we wouldn't be charged for 2 (out of 30) people from our group who had last-minute conflicts due to illness - but then tried to charge us amounts in excess of what was on our bill.

In other words, they showed us a bill, and that bill was correct. We gave them our credit cards, and they charged 2x the amount they should have on each card because they decided to also charge us for another table and for no-shows, after they had already presented us with our bill! Dishonest.

Worse, the manager (Gina) told us we were lucky they accommodated us at all - nevermind that we had reservations for months and that they are in the business of ... serving afternoon tea to people.

The whole thing was wild. I would not recommend, and I would not return.

The scones are delicious. The atmosphere couldn't be better. It's in the middle of a rose garden and they offer special rose tea. It's a real treat, and a great place to bring a party.

I did enjoy it a little more when it was a buffet. Still, things change!

I visited with my mother, she had no idea what to expect, but had a wonderful time! It is such a comfortable space, both the taste and presentation is amazing, the the service is absolutely top notch. Something I noticed is that the servers really do pay attention. We never had to search or wait for our server, any time we needed something they were ready to jump in, and they did this without being super helicopter-y. I was very impressed.

The tea was delightful, and we tried several blends, the food was beautiful, and the setting, right by the herb garden, surrounded by roses, it was just simply perfect. I look forward to returning.

I went a few years ago and it was lovely. So many cute desserts and the tea was excellent.

I was so surprised to find that their tea is an all-you-can-eat buffet! Your server will drop off your pot of tea and then you're on your own!

If you have a big appetite, it's great. But if you want the experience of being served tea and choosing from a menu, you'll be disappointed at the Huntington Tea House. It's pricey for what you get.

This tea is a bit pricey. The $25.00 price was OK, but we had to pay $15.00 to enter the Huntington Garden – bringing the grand total to $45.00. For that price, I expect to be served. The hostess was very rude when we arrived 5 minutes early. We only had a choice of 2 teas. Sandwiches were good, the scones were very good but the desserts were only so-so. I don’t think we will return.

We try to make it to this tea room at least once a year. We are always happy with the service and the food. It is all you can eat, but the selections are elegant and taste wonderful. It is a little on the loud side only because it is a large place and the reservations are booked 100%. We will go again and again!

I have been to a few tearooms in my time and I love this one the best. I come here at least once a year. This is my favorite; nice teas, relaxing, plenty of food, then to go out and take a nice walk through the gardens.

I loved this tea house. I am new to teahouses so my experiences have been limited, but I thought this was lovely. Pricey yes, add in a walk around the gardens to get the most for your money. I thought the food & tea were excellent, the atmosphere simple & a bit noisy. I would recommend.

Ask for Anna! She makes the the somewhat 'pricyness' worth it. They offer two teas a day, which are both usually very good. Scones were delicious, as was the selection of finger food. Reserve a table by a window so you can look at the gardens. The great thing about tea at the Huntington Room is that when you are done, you can walk the gardens or visit the museum. It is a long drive for me, but it is worth it for a great weekend day trip.

A trip to the Huntington Tea room is not one for just tea. There are usually two selections - a China Caemon and a seasonal fruit tea. The scones are great and served prompty when you sit down. The buffet is ok, with a limited selection of cheeses, salads and fruit. The tearoom is always packed and noisy. The decor is simple, but the service is prompt and friendly. We usually make the trip several times a year for an opportunity to walk around the gardens.

I have always enjoyed taking guests for tea at the Huntington. However, over the past 2 years the quality of the food has deteriorated to the point that it no longer is an English tea. The watercress sandwiches have little or no watercress in them. The cucumber sandwiches taste solely of cream cheese. After my third disappointment, I have opted not to partake of tea this year in hopes that the excellent quality will somehow return. It would be wonderful if this did occur.

The Huntington is the best of tea houses not only for its price but its location. Located on the grounds of the beautiful Huntington gardens it is worth the visit.

Always reserve your table then spend the rest if the afternoon looking at the Japanese, Australian or rose gardens.

The tea is served at the table but there is also a buffet which includes cheeses, fruit and cake.

      Excellent and recommended.

This is one of the best tea rooms in the San Gabriel Valley, though it is about the priciest, as you must pay for the tea room as well as admission to the Huntington Gardens. It is all you can eat which is unique and all the food is tasty and fresh. Limited selection of teas is the only drawback. If you and some friends want to get together and make a day of the Gardens/Library and tea room it's a great way to spend the day.
