Was really sad to learn that the Tea House was closing. I live in the Kansas City area and orig. from Lincoln Ks. So when I come back to Lincoln I have to come to the Tea House. So will make it one last time on the 28th of Sept. Thanks for all of the great service and atmosphere you have given all of years over the years.

What a pleasure to take friends and family to your tea house in Concordia; whether to celebrate an occassion or for a simple treat. My grandchildren enjoy the dressing up part. I especially look forward to our quilt guilds yearly outing to your teahouse. Thank you for having the perfect place to sit back and enjoy.

Going to Huckleberry started several yrs ago as a girls day out, this has continued and I have been able to share it with my girls and thier cousin. What a fun time they had playing dress up and being embarassed by 'being forced to have pictures taken'. We love the Susan B, Madayline & Andrew. The Chicken Curry and old soups ae the best. And the favorite tes is the Bourban Street. The staff is always cheerful and we have a great time every time we go. Way to go Huckleberry Group!

The Huckleberry Tea house was a very tasty, lovely surprise! My mom and I traveled from California to attend the Glasco Cemetery Memorial Day Services in honor of my father, Lyle Duane Guipre, USMC. The tea house was full to capacity with the holiday weekend but there was a very serene feeling walking in. The ladies working were most accommodating and friendly despite being so busy The celadon green waiting/shopping area had some nice 'tea' gifts, books, cards and a comfy sofa. After being shown to a table, a delightful young gal welcomed us with a pretty smile. Darjeeling is my favorite tea, served in a single serving teapot, covered in a cute fabric tea cozy. Oddly, the BEST part of our Huckleberry Tea House experience was the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich. I love BLTs and, by far and away, THEIRS is the BEST EVER. We also loved the cold strawberry soup - delicious. The triple chocolate layer cake with ice cream for dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect lunch. If I'd had my granddaughters with me, we would have thoroughly enjoyed 'dressing up' with the hats and boas provided in the hallway. I would definitely go back to enjoy the Teahouse again the moment I find myself back in Kansas :)

My mom introduced me to The Huckleberry Tea House a couple of years ago and it instantly became a favorite place to go. We have introduced the tea house to family and friends from around the country (Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia) and today we brought friends from Manhattan, KS, and everyone has loved it! Soup in a sherbet glass, wonderful sandwiches (try something on the marble rye bread - to die for!!) and the desserts - yum! And, the highlight is the tea. So far my favorites are Hot Cinnamon Spice, Almond Delight and Lois' Chai - fantastic!!! Such great memories and fun photos with the boas and hats! What a treasure! And, you can buy tea and a teapot to take home with you so it's the perfect place to stop! I highly recommend it!

It was a pleasant time as we arrived early and watched the room fill up with a surprising variety of people...ladies, families with children, even a table of MEN!! The food is amazing and keeps us coming back, however there are some problems with the service. There have been a few times where we've had to wait 45 minutes or more for our food. A couple of times we've had to remind the server to bring our salad, bread, drinks, or other items.

Some of our classmates attempt to get together for a monthly 'hen party'. Our destination in April 2010 was the Huckleberry Teahouse in Concordia, KS. Wherever we gather, out little hens go with us, only this time they dressed up in hats and boas also. We had a great time picking out our hats and accessories to wear during lunch. I moved away from my home town of Concordia in 2001, before the Huckleberry House 'happened.' Now I LOVE to go back... having lunch there is a highlight! The food is delicious, and NOT so huge portions, beautifully served. I had the Susan B (chicken salad on croissant) last time, with a delicious light broccoli soup, and of course, the scrumptious Turtle Cheesecake! Lois and all the staff make me feel welcome and treated like royalty... meanwhile, farmers in work clothes dine near tables of moms and grandmas with young girls trying on the many hats (all well-mannered somehow!). It's a treat unlike any other! You'll love it... !

As I often travel from TX to KS and NE, I now plan to stop at The Huckleberry Tea House as often as I possibly can. I just enjoyed my second visit, especially the divine strawberry soup and the tasty BLT sandwich (although I forget its creative name). The raspberry iced tea was mild and delicious even though I was disappointed that there were only 3-4 iced options (yes, I am a tea room neophite and had hoped that all of the 30 hot teas would be available as iced). While the eating area is decorated with feminine Victorian charm, I didn't feel uncomfortable in my very casual (ok, sloppy) travel attire. The very new policy of not accepting credit/debit cards (I happened to be there on its first day) was posted near the entry, but I didn't see it until I returned to that area to pay and thankfully but unusually had the cash amount I needed. I would have appreciated a mention of this policy added to the menu or mentioned by the staff as plastic was accepted on my previous visit.

We came to the area from Parkville MO yesterday to visit my grandmother for her 88th Birthday. I took my mother, and my 2 daughters with me and we wanted to take GMa out for lunch today and away from her assisted living facility. My aunt had recommended this quaint little 'tea' room to us. We were THRILLED (and I must admit surprised) at our experience. Even my 16 year old daughter was impressed - and that is a tough feat these days (being a teenager and having to spend a weekend with family - UGH!). We will definitely be back and I can't wait to tell my friends about it. I even found a neat gift to bring home to my hubby. Thank you Lois for a wonderful time!

The only thing that keeps this from excellent is that I want to go back again and be able to review it UP to excellent. It was a fun place to visit that I want to take my daughters to.

Our bus tour had a delightful lunch at the Huckleberry House and it was wonderful. We had a delicious iced Black Current tea as well as a Cinnamon Spice hot tea with our dessert. Lois is a charming hostess, telling us the story of how the shop came to exist, and during a demonstration of the player piano she even got some of the guys dancing. Food was delicious, we had chicken salad on croissant, chilled strawberry soup and a very nice green salad, and dessert was white and chocolate cake with brittle chips. Every server was friendly, fast and watchful for somebody needing something.

Don't let Concordia be just a town along your route, stop at Huckleberry House for a delightful break. We will!

Business travel brings with it the need to have business lunch, and definitely this place is the right one.

My husband and I had lunch here with a customer. After days of fast food places, it was a blessing: no buzzing alarm from the kitchen. We could speak in soft voices, enjoy home-made food, choose among wonderful teas, appreciate a real table with a tablecloth, and be thankful for quick, first-class service at the table. Incredibly, the prices are really customer friendly.

Compared to our fast-food experience, even our bodies were thankful.
