They are currently the only true tea parlor offering High Tea in Roseville and <B>the only French-deco tea parlor in Northern California</B>. High Tea (served anytime with reservations) consists of fresh loose-leaf tea steeped in individual tea pots, cinnamon rolls, fresh-baked scones served with homemade lemon curd and heavy whipped cream, a variety of petite sandwiches (including their famous Chicken Salad with Slivered Almonds and Sliced Grapes), gourmet salad, gourmet soup, vegetable quiche, and petit fours. The French-deco Tea Parlor is hidden further back in the establishment so ask about it at the counter. In the far back of the building is the Party Room where they host full-featured <a target="_blank" href="http://www.adashofpanache.com/birthday%20parties.htm">little girls' themed birthday parties</a> (Princess parties, Tea parties, Diva Salon parties, Crazy Hair Salon parties, etc.). Fabulous! Delicious food! The scones are wonderful! The service is great. Our group of 6 tea fanciers has been traveling around northern CA for over 8 years and this is one of our favorite places.

Came to celebrate my daughter's birthday party today with a Diva Salon party package. It exceeded my expectations many times over. The girls were thrilled and are still buzzing about it. Everything was included. The hostesses were fun. The favors were nice.

My sister bought a LivingSocial for this place and it was a superb experience. Their prices seemed very reasonable, even low, for many tea houses we have visited. The tea room was French which includes a lot of dark colors with contrasting whites and other colors. I was very impressed and so was my sister. We're both rather picky but neither of us found anything to complain about. Our waitress was super sweet and while the owner didn't talk to our table, we heard him chatting to a nearby table and he seems like a very nice man. We'll be back in a few months again for the holidays. We're looking forward to it.

We came in for the holiday high tea this year and had a wonderful time. The raspberry white chocolate scones were the best I have had and we all enjoyed the peppermint nog with the dessert plate. I have visited a lot of tea parlors and would recommend this as one of the best my friends and I have experienced. Thank you A Dash of Panache for the fun holiday memories!

Used a Groupon coupon and came for the first time with my sister. It was very nice and the waitress was delightful. The courses of food far exceeded my expectations. We both loved the French decorations. My sister wanted those chandeliers too!

Used a Groupon, it was a great deal. There were a lot of people making reservations so it was difficult getting in just before mine expired because everyone else was trying to do the same thing. However, IT WAS COMPLETELY WORTH IT! It was so cool and fun. Exceptional food, wonderfully-kind staff, cute decorations, and great friendship. Thank you for the idea Janet!

I really enjoyed the differences this parlor has over typical tea parlors. Some may not appreciate the French designs which are much different than Old English typical parlors. I think the food is superb and the hostess we had was very friendly and attentive to us both.

I bought a Groupon in January to attend this one of a kind establishment. It was hard to get a reservation because so many Groupon buyers were doing what I was doing but I count it all as TOTALLY WORTH it! It was fun. It was scrumptious. It was relaxing. The regular price (without the Groupon) is very reasonable and I appreciated what we got for the price. I made memories with my friend and daughter. If the owner is around that day, ask to talk to him. He is really nice. The gals that work there are extremely kind, caring, and thoughtful too. Great service.

I'm a regular tea goer from Vacaville and this was my first visit to A Dash of Panache. I knew ahead of time that the French Deco design was going to be different and I was happily surprised. It was very well designed inside the parlor and quite tasteful without feeling stuffy. The food was extremely delicious, pretty to the eye, and kept us talking about it on the long drive home. We dressed up in their hat closet and I don't think I have laughed that hard with my friends in a few years. The serving staff was wonderful and the owner was very down to earth and pleasant. I wish I had not liked it so much because now we have to make the long drive more often. Highly recommended!

My girlfriends and I go out to tea quite frequently and we decided to make the long drive up to Roseville to check out their French-deco Parlor. We were very pleased with the results. The food was superior to most tea parlors we have frequented and the owner was very personable. Our waitress was well trained. My group of friends and I are now looking for more excuses to drive up to the Sacramento area so we can hop over to Roseville and visit the Dash of Panache tea house.

A score of 'Excellent' in all areas with a bonus of 'exceeded expectations' as well. The design of this parlor is one-of-a-kind. The food is over the top. The service is sincere. The dress up closet is embarassingly fun. The man who owns the parlor is so damn nice and honest with answers to our personal questions. The restrooms are pretty and clean. And we have never been in the old part of Roseville before and we just love the neighborhood this in which this parlor is located.

I attended the valentines day high tea yesterday. My expectations were exceeded in both the special event itself and in the quality of the food and service. I write this review as a sign of appreciation to the staff who made our time together so special. We truly have superior memories of our time together and the staff and the owner are the key ingredient even though the food quality and the room setting and musical selections all exceeded as well.

I found A Dash of Panache a couple of years ago when we attended a Holiday High Tea there. I have brought various family (daughters, their husbands, grandchildren, cousins) and friends to tea sittings at least a few times every year since. I have never written a review until now and that is rude of me because they deserve it. They have always treated me and my guests with loving kindness. I can tell this is a Christian facility by the way they love on us all. Their scones are really, honestly, the best I have ever had anywhere. I have visited a variety of tea parlors and tea houses in California and abroad and I keep coming back to Panache because of two things: 1. The food and environment is superior. 2. The owners and staff are over the top. If you have not tried this wonderful establishment yet, I encourage you to do so! If you have tried it before, I hope you do as I'm finally doing and tell others about it.

      Tearoom response:

We promise that Peggy is NOT in any way related to our staff or owners, even though she sounds like our marketing department! Peggy, your review is perfect and our team will be thrilled to read it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I bought a Groupon last fall for an Afternoon Luncheon Tea Sitting at this establishment. I was not expecting much but I was overwhelmingly surprised at just about my whole experience! The French design of the parlor was so unique and fun, I could not stop looking at the paintings, high heels, fashion items, etc. Beautiful. The tea selection was huge. Unfortunately, this meant the print was small so they could fit in all the wonderfully descriptions about each tea, which was very helpful. The family story was special and heart-warming. I loved the piano music, the smells, the friendliness of the wait staff, and the loving discussion with the owner. The food was some of the best food I've had at a tea parlor, and that includes the world-famous parlor in Victoria Canada. We borrowed clean and fancy items from the hat closet and a hostess took our photo at the table for us with my friend's camera. Overall, we loved it thoroughly.

      Tearoom response:

Thank you, Rio! Next time you visit, ask to borrow one of our magnifiers to read the small print in the tea menu. Karen and Scott (owners) had their first real tea experience in Victoria! It is such a beautiful city!

Mom and I came to this tea house for the first time, thanks to the Groopon coupon. I marked Excellent in all areas because it really was that good. The interior was so extremely unique in design. We both loved it! The dressup closet was laughter and lots of fun memories will be with us both for years to come. The team that took care of us that day were really down to earth and friendly. They explained each course of scrumptious food that was served to us and every single thing was put together in a tastebud thrilling way. Mom loved the piano music playing. We will be attending the christmas event in the winter! We are both new fans.

      Tearoom response:

Melissa, thank you for taking the time to write this! The Groupon was pretty overwhelming for our team (returning phone calls promptly was the hardest part). We are thrilled you enjoyed yourselves. We hope you and your mom enjoyed the Holiday High Tea event!

I attended on Sunday, August 21, 2011 for a luncheon tea sitting that I received via the groupon coupon I bought for $10 (a $20 value). Because I have been to this parlor several times before, I was half expecting to receive a less-than-normal tea sitting because of the extreme discount of the groupon. But I was in for a delightful surprise when the tea meal and service we received was completely up to par and I was treated like I always have been in the past, which was like a queen. I also must say that there was a couple sitting next to us that was rather grumpy from the moment they walked in until the moment they left. I was very impressed with the staff and the parlor manager/owner as they sensed their grumpiness and went above and beyond to give them every chance possible to cheer up. It didn't appear they turned around their attitudes but I can only imagine they had a horrible situation outside of the sitting today. Great job to Dash staff for staying so positive around grumpy people.

      Tearoom response:

Thanks for the great review, Jean! Yes, we occasionally get very grumpy guests who can't be pleased no matter what we do. Those are the times that serving people isn't a lot of fun but we figure that as long as we try our best to meet their needs, we're giving them the best opportunity to leave our facility with a smile on their face. However, it is rare to get grumpy guests. Most of our guests are wonderful.

My tea girlfriends travel about looking for fun and interesting tea parlors around the west coast. We have been to dozens and have probably seen it all when it comes to decor, recipes, and so on. All five of us had a superior time at your parlor in Roseville. I loved the French design of the room, black table coverings, crystal ware, chic art work and displays, music, dress up closet, clean powder room, gourmet recipes, and friendly staff. The price was reasonable too. One of my friends is vegetarian and she was very pleased with the avocado and tomato sandwich instead of our tasty chicken salad petites. I believe you deserve excellent in all areas.

      Tearoom response:

Betty, thank you so much for the very kind and descriptive review. We're looking forward to your next visit!

Thoroughly enjoyed Easter tea at this cute little French decor tea parlor in Roseville, CA. The waitresses were kind and the owner was friendly. Appreciated the spiritual touch (not too heavy but just right). The menu was over the top and easily earned an 'excellent' grade on this review form. I'll be back for certain.

      Tearoom response:

We believe we are the only tea parlor to host an Easter tea every year. Easter is such an important day for many families, especially Christians, and we are thrilled to be able to spend our Easter with our guests.

I am a tea nut from the Boston area transplanted into Northern California where they are not supposed to know anything about tea. After all, we threw the biggest tea party, the Boston Tea Party! This parlor did an excellent job of decorating the tables and serving supurb tea-related food courses. I was impressed with the fun of steeping my own tea in my own teapot right at our table. Enjoyed the music too since the pianist was from our eastern neck of the woods.

      Tearoom response:

Our family came to our annual tradition of Holiday High Tea here at A Dash of Panache. We just love this tea parlor and it is no wonder that they are still open when so many other parlors are dropping like flies in these extreme economic times. We always love the 'Christmassy' atmosphere that goes along with the best holiday meal I personally have ever had at a tea parlor. Big kuddos to the owner and team of friendly people. Thank you so much for the beautiful photo and that fabulous take home gift. Our family is already looking forward to getting together and including your parlor in next year's holiday plans. Have a great new year!

      Tearoom response:

Margaret, we believe there are two families who have attended ALL SIX annual Holiday High Tea events! That is awesome. We're glad that your family has come back again and thank you so much for the nice comments. Our owner was able to visit with every guest this season and we think he took all of the table photos this time as well. Our team has thoroughly enjoyed reading the Feedback Forms to hear all of the wonderful ways in which we impacted the experience of the families that trusted us to make their holiday a little more special.

Came for luncheon tea Sunday and loved it! It was very busy and the parlor was filled, so was the cafe and party room. But we received quality and friendly service and was pleased with the food and environment. We loved the holiday decorations and the big tree out in the cafe. We will certainly be back.

      Tearoom response:

That was the last Sunday before the start of our Holiday High Tea event (12/17-1/2). It was also the last weekend before many of our Gift Certificates expired. We turned away several guests because we were absolutely full from morning until early evening. It was a crazy day that included a couple of themed birthday parties in our party room and a bunch of walk-ins for our front cafe. Luckily we had plenty of staff on hand and we think we did a good job of providing quality service for everyone. Whew!

This is a pre-review of A Dash of Panache. We are planning to attend the Black Friday Harvest High Tea event next week and I came in today to check out the parlor. It is SO unique and SO SO cute! There was a family in there today consisting of two men, two women, and a little girl. The females were dressed up with items from the vanity closet and they were taking pictures. HOW CUTE! I asked how they liked the meal and they said it was really, really good and filling. Since there were two men there nodding along with that statement, I was quite impressed because tea houses are typically known for very small portions that don't satisfy hungry people. We are very excited to be coming next week. I'll try to remember to post my experience after the actual sitting too.

      Tearoom response:

Sunday was my first visit to this tea parlor after visiting about ten others around the Sacramento valley. Most have closed now. However, the tea sitting I had here was excellent and, honestly, exceeded the quality of food in any of the other parlors I've visited. Great experience and very friendly staff. I thoroughly enjoyed the high tea at this parlor. I was really good all the way around. I love the French decore! Most tea houses I go to have dusty Victorian items (with price tags) covering every inch of the walls and I just love the open, classy look and feel to this room shows. I recommend it.

      Tearoom response:

Our family is happy to hear your viewpoint. We recently had a guest tell us that there wasn't enough 'stuff' on the walls like at other parlors and that we need to add a lot more decorations that are for sale. It's a difficult balance between classy and overbearing.

I attended a high tea/birthday party for a dear friend yesterday at your tea parlor. There must have been at least 20 of us in your parlor (with room to spare). I'm a first timer at your place and I enjoyed it SO MUCH that I want to share my feedback with you. Your staff were so friendly, even with some of our pickier guests (sorry but we had a few picky friends with us and you handled them very kindly). The surprise party was such a success because of your business. I noticed that there was an award sitting on a table that said you were selected as the 'Best of the Best Event Facility' by some newspaper (sorry, I can't remember which one). I'd have to agree that your business is the best event-type place (and tea room) that I've ever been to. Very impressive meal too! Thank you!

      Tearoom response:

Sorry it has taken us so long to respond back to your review but thank you for taking time to do so! That was a fun party! We were excited the big guys in your group not only dressed up a little (great brownie points) but seemed very satisfied with the quantity of food. <BR> The award you mentioned was from the Roseville Press Tribune. They also awarded us the Best of the Best in Catering.<BR> By the way, we don't remember your 'picky friends' so they must not have been very picky. We're glad you felt we were friendly to them.

Really enjoyed touring your business tonight at Downtown Tuesday Nights! We didn't realize how big your building was until we got the tour. Everything is so beautiful. We made our reservations! See you again soon.

      Tearoom response:

We hope you enjoyed Downtown Tuesday Nights! It's a terrific event downtown. Thank you for the nice comments about our 1920's building! Most first-time guests are surprised about how big the building is once they get past the cafe. We recently changed the bullet points on our front window to help explain that the tea parlor and party room are in 'a separate room' because so many people look through the front window and see only the cafe and, unfortunately, think THAT is where we do the teas and parties. It's a pretty big building but you can only see 1/3 of it from the front cafe.

My daughter attended a princess party there last Sunday. She cannot stop talking about it. I had a latte and a great salad (forgot the name of it but it had wedged apples and chicken salad) in the cafe dining room while the party was underway. I was impressed with everything.

      Tearoom response:

Of the 600+ themed parties we've hosted, almost all of them were quite a hit! The salad you mentioned was our award-winning Stuffed Apple Chicken Salad!

We went for a birthday tea and were very pleased with the meal. We had high tea and felt you got much value for your money. We would highly recommend it. It was also fun to dress up- aneat touch!

      Tearoom response:

It's hard to compare value when so many of our sister tea parlors around the area have closed their doors but we can say that back when there were 11 or 12 parlors in the area, we certainly were not the most expensive. We hear that we have always provided the most food, especially for our High Tea sittings. We feel we do provide a lot of value for the dollar. Thank you!

Having just found TeaMap.com, I realized I found a good way to share about my experiences with A Dash of Panache even though they were a while back. My first visit there was at the Easter Sunday Tea event in early April 2010. It was such a great experience that I brought friends to the Vintage Tea even later in April. Both events were fantastic and I can't think of anything at all to complain about or suggest improvement. We were seated on time. The table was set lovely and professionally. The service staff was very friendly and caring and their continual courses of very good food kept coming and coming. The restroom was clean and nice looking with art on the wall. There was a cute gift shop. During the Vintage Tea event we got to watch a parade of little divas go back to their birthday party room after dressing up in the vanity closet (which we enjoyed ourselves). Both visits were such a delight and I've already made reservations for my next visit in June.

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for the nice words! We also appreciate the restroom compliment since most people don't mention it. They are decorated very nicely and try our best to keep them clean. We haven't been replying as often as we'd like so hopefully your June reservation went well too. Thank you for your repeated patronage!

Wonderful place! Thank you! It was a refreshing improvement over the dusty antique shops where many tea parlors are housed. Enjoyed your menu on the day we came and it was especially nice to have enough to take some home for my daughter to share! Again, thank you!

      Tearoom response:

We laughted at the 'dusty antique shops' comment because that's one of the few things we (Scott and Karen, owners) don't like about many tea parlors. We tried to design this one so it looks different inside (French-deco) and has more of a classy feel instead of an antique feel. However, it does throw a few people when they first enter the parlor because it's not always what they're expecting. Most of the time, however, they end up liking the difference. Thanks for mentioning it!

Last Sunday we attended your mothers day event. It was a very nice tea sitting and the price was perfect. Thank you for the great food and environment to top off our experience. The photo was awesome and we loved the nice touch of the tea favors too. Thank you. You have a new fan (me).

      Tearoom response:

We've heard that last year at least one of the neighboring tea parlors (now closed) was charging $40 per person for Mother's Day (and they were full). We believe we offer much more plus several extras for a LOT less money. Our son, Keither, was the photographer this year and he did a great job. Thank you for the nice review!

My old favorite parlor (An Afternoon to Remember) is closed so I had to find another place to go for a Mother's Day tea sitting. We found this parlor through TeaMap and thought we'd give it a try. I have a new favorite tea parlor. What a nice amount of very high quality food! Everything made our memory together special! I rate this parlor as EXCELLENT in all areas. The staff was friendly too. Nice photos too. I'm sure I'm missing lots of little extras but I promise that this is a place you should consider attending!

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for that nice review! I sure hope we treated you like a VIP because after that great review, you certainly are one! Came for tea this morning. I've been here three different times and plan to come back. Never wrote up a review so thought I will now. There are fewer and fewer tea houses to visit around here but this is always a favorite of mine. The food is the most tasty and filling and I just love the environment. They were fairly busy today and it was nice to be eating with beautiful music playing and busy-ness that was nice to be a part of but that didn't bother or interrupt us. They were starting a princess birthday in their party room as we left. I wish I were young again because this would be a dream party for me. If you haven't visited this place, you gotta try it. It is very nice all the way around. Spend some time talking to one of the owners while you're there, they have quite the interesting story to tell if you ask the right questions.

      Tearoom response:

My sister and I came here yesterday (Sunday 3/7). We had a difficult time finding many options in the Sacramento/Auburn/Folsom area but we are glad we found this parlor. We arrived early and waited in the front cafe until they seated us. The cafe was 'hopping' with people eating sandwiches and large salads, getting ready for a princess party, ordering lattes at the counter, and browsing thorugh the gift shop along the side wall. As we walked down the hall into the tea parlor, the atmosphere was transformed from busy cafe into tranquil tea parlor with beautiful music, fancy lighting, sheik paint colors, etc. It was wonderful. We ordered our tea and visited the vanity just to look at first. But as soon as we tried on something we just couldn't seem to stop playing (and laughing) until they brought our tea out to the table! Our hostess, Korin, taught us how to steep the tea (fun) and soon brought out fresh scones and cinnamon rolls. Then the courses of food just kept coming. Everytime we thought we were done, another course would arrive. It was a fantastic experience. Our friendship is stronger because of the environment we enjoyed yesterday. During our visit, we got to see a parade of birthday party attendees parade to the back room where they hold birthday parties. We could hear the girls cheering and having fun back there but it was not loud enough to be bothersome or distracting in our plush little tea parlor corner of the world. This was fun. The place was extremely busy, which made it even funner (yes, I know that is not a word). Definitely planning to come back again.

      Tearoom response:

We're so glad you had such a wonderful time! That Sunday was one of the busiest we've had in a long time and our associates were working so hard to keep the Cafe, the Tea Parlor, and the Party Room well serviced.

My first visit was excellent in all rating categories! Selection of loose leaf teas was huge. The quality of the food served to us was 'gourmet' and the quantity was great too. The artistry of tea preparation was as good as it can be because we were taught to steep our own tea right there at the table. Fun. The service quality and cheer was excellent all the way around. Great experience. I'll be back!

      Tearoom response:

It's funny but when we first opened, we did the steeping for our guests. We soon discovered that when we allow them to steep their own tea, it's not only more fun for them but the tea is always 'perfect.'

My daughter attended what she called 'the bestest birthday party ever' last weekend. I hung out in the cafe with the other moms and a few dads. What a brilliant concept for a business. We had such a nice time enjoying lattes and great sandwiches while our daughters were being pampered and entertained in the back party area. Very fun. My daughter's reaction was priceless. I'd highly recommend!

      Tearoom response:

We (the owners) have a lot of children ourselves and we've held dozens and dozens of birthday parties in our home and took our children to over a hundred parties elsewhere over the many years of being parents. When we designed the business, we wanted to make sure the parents (who brought their children to a birthday party here) had something to do during the party. It is so rewarding to read about the success of that idea. We are so glad you got to relax in our Cafe while our staff took care of your children back in the Party Room.

Valentine's Day High Tea with my husband was SO ROMANTIC! We both enjoyed the special menu of delicious food that kept coming and coming. My husband loved being full and I got to take some home to enjoy later. The music and decor (and candles) wer special. The service was prompt and my water glass (and tea pot) were kept replenished. There was a time when we were allowed, if we wanted, to share something about our date. That was special to me. I know my hubby loves me but to hear him publically tell why I'm special was breathtaking and I wasn't the only person in the room with moist eyes after hearing their mate talk. We received a beautiful photograph of the two of us as well as a nice favor before we left. Thank you for making this time so special for us. Every marriage needs fun things to do together. Up until they closed, I used to only go to An Afternoon to Remember up in the Auburn area (Newcastle). I never though I'd find another parlor to replace my first love. I came to your A Dash of Panache for the very first time when I came for lunch in your cafe with a friend. I didn't realize you also were a tea parlor! Nor did I realize you were also a birthday party place and baby and bridal shower place (as your website says). I got excited but was reserved when I came as a guest to your tea parlor last week for the Holiday High Tea event. All I can say now is, 'Oh my!' It was fun, fun, fun and delish, delish, delish! You have calmed my spirit because now I have a new home for tea. Thank you for staying open when everyeone else seems to be closing. I am looking forward to taking my hubby there for the Valentine's Day tea event! I'm looking forward to getting your next newsletter, my first. I plan to tell my friends, I already have been doing so.

      Tearoom response:

We were all sad to hear the news that our sister parlor in Newcastle was closing. Fortunately for us, we have heard your story several times now. We have dozens of new 'converts' who have never been here before (many have never heard of us before). We're trying hard to remain open in this extremely challenging economy. We've shortened our Cafe hours to help eliminate being open later in the afternoon when Cafe traffic is low, especially during times when the Parlor is empty.

This was the most memorable Christmas Tea I have ever attended. Not only was the food excellent, but the owner himself made us feel right at home. He shared a touching story of a childhood memory that started a very nice round of stories and fond memories. I was touched. The parlor itself is beautiful and the rest of the staff seem very nice as well. There is a cafe up front and they seemed fairly busy up there without affecting the quality of our service back in the parlor. My Christmas was very merry because of this sitting. Happy New Year!!!!

I attended my first Christmas Tea this year. I am so thankful it was a A Dash of Panache. I enjoyed a very high quality meal that was flawless. One of the owners helped us all through a very memorable sharing time of fond holiday memories or traditions. I was uncomfortable at first but as I listened to the stories start flowing from the other guests, my heart melted. It was very wonderful and deeply meaningful to listen to everyone share. A few shed some tears for past memories with those no longer with them and some shared hilarious stories. My story was bland but meaningful. We all got a very nice blessing from the group activity. Yes, it was optional and a few chose not to say anything but they certainly enjoyed listening to the other stories. The owner's story was touching too. I got a photo of our group and each of us received a nice Tub Tea gift. The price was 29.95 each which is lower than the 40 my sister paid at a similar event last year, at a different tea house. The dessert contained an 'eggnog with pink peppermint ice cream' dessert that sounded...well...yucky. BUT IT WAS GREAT! My new favorite holiday dessert!

      Tearoom response:

Georgia, we're so thrilled that you had such a nice time! Thank you for the nice review! We had such a fun time listening to everyone's fond memories or traditions. Because of all the sittings this season, we got to hear many! The price was $27.95, not $29.95. It's pricey but several guests mentioned that last year they paid $40/ea at a different regional parlor (no longer open unfortunately).

Everytime that I've come here, whether for a bridal shower, holiday tea, or just to enjoy time with friends, I've found the service, food, and tea delectable ! The scones, which are homemade, and the chicken salad sandwiches are scrumptious every time. I haven't branched out of my favourites regarding teas, but between my friends and myself, we've probably tried a good sampling and all have been above par. The atmosphere differs from the usual, but the French deco ambience is very whimsical and original ! All in all, this is definitely the teahouse to frequent !

I came to A Dash of Panache tea house today with a group of friends for a high tea. This was the first time for all of us at this particular parlor. I enjoyed myself so much that I decided to give them a little credit for their great service. The owner himself sat us and we got to talk his wife too (the other owner). After selecting our tea for our individual tea pots, we visited their vanity closet room. Oh my was that more fun than I expected! The meal was served in course after course and everytime we thought we were finished, another course would be served. The quality of the food was supurb. The tea room was full and I saw several couples (gentlemen with their wives) and a few children. It was a very nice atmosphere and the serving staff were friendly and the food was excellent! I definitely recommend this tea house!

My girlfriends and a few others thoroughly enjoyed visiting this tea parlor last Sunday. The business concept is very unique and creative. They have a cafe up in the front section and it has a very cute gift shop that I had to drag a few of my girlfriends away from so we could be seated. The tea parlor is in the middle section of the building. We were seated by a very nice hostess (I am sorry but I forgot her name). After reviewing their huge tea menu, we each selected our own pot of tea. Well, one of my friends didn't want hot tea but instead wanted their special iced tea that day (I forgot the name of it but it had pomegranite and vanilla in it I think). She gave me a taste and it was very yummy. While they were getting our tea pots prepared, we were told we could visit the vanity closet and that we could borrow whatever we wanted from it. It's a long story but when we were done, we were laughing and decked out in some pretty fun feathers, hats, bling, and more. They taughted us out how steep our own tea in the cute tea pots. They served us pumpkin scones with heavy whipped cream which was probably the tastiest whipped cream I've ever had. They also served it with a cream cheese-based frosting/icing on the side. We also each got a yummy and warm cinnimon roll. The next course consisted of a very nice selection of small sandwiches; all of which were very tasty. We also were served a wonderful soup and a mixed salad that was really good. There was also quiche (vegetable) and it was very well made. They finished us off with a plate of assorted goodies (a triple chocolate brownie, fruit, a cream puff with a nice chocolate sauce, and ice cream that hit the spot). The hostess even gave us tea samples as we left. It was very impressive, very tasty, and we had so much fun that we will be very dedicated return visitors too! I would highly recommend this tea parlor although there really isn't any left in the area to choose from. But even if there were many, I'd still recommend this one.

A Dash of Panash is the only tea house i have been to. The experience and food was great. I had the Tuscan Chicken sandwich. WOW!!! amazing. The great thing is how you are able to get vegetarian items also. The different types of tea you can choose from is cool to. All together a great fun day. Thank You.

      Tearoom response:

From your description, it sounds like you visited our <a href='http://www.adashofpanache.com/Lunch%20Cafe.htm' target='_blank'>Cafe</a> up in the front of our building (that's the only place we serve our famous Tuscan Grilled Chicken Sandwich), unless you had it as part of a business meeting or networking group that uses our Tea Parlor on occasion. Glad you enjoyed the tea selection!

Today I came for the very first time to a dash of panash. I am not someone who typically takes time to post reviews about places I go no matter how good or poor they are. All evening I was remembering the experience and telling some friends and smiling to myself and feeling warm fuzzies because of the fun memories I experienced. Therefore I sat down on our family computer and searched for someplace to tell the world about my personal experience. So here goes: I came with a friend to eat at what she described as a 'cute cafe in downtown roseville.' As we walked in the front door we realized that there was something special going on. Little did we know at the time that there was a bunch of 'somethings' going on. In the front cafe area there was a bunch of princesses having ice cream sundaes and brownies and pink lemonade over at a decorated table. They were darling and they were having a wonderfully fun time. The rest of the cafe was full of their parents and we appreciated them moving over a bit to allow us to have a small table to ourselves. We ordered from a cafe menu that made our mouths water. When the food arrived, it was truly wonderful and very satisfying. The staff said that the cafe is usually not this busy and that the ice cream princess party is not a typical event up here. We didn't mind because the young royalty were having so much fun that we giggled as we watched them. One of the staff was doing face painting with them. The mother of the birthday girls kept telling everyone how thrilled she was with the party and the girls that were helping out. Sometime during our lunch we heard some laughter down the hall and we noticed for the first time that there was another room further back in the building. We both walked over and saw a beautifully decorated room full of dressed up women. They were having a baby shower! There must have been 30 or more ladies back there and we found out that it was a french-deco tea parlor and they were having a high tea with their shower! What a thrill! We didn't realize that Roseville had its very own parlor! The room looked beautiful and my friend kept commenting on the artwork and the paint colors. After we walked back to our seat to finish eating, my friend decided she had to go to the powder room to 'freshen up.' A few minutes later I noticed her down the hall frantically motioning me to come down there. I walked through the tea parlor where the owner of the establishment was leading out in what looked like a very fun game and I met my friend just beyone the parlor next to a fancy closet. As I approached her I realized that the closet was a dress up closet! It had boas and hats and jewelry and I can't remember what else but there was more. I then realized that the baby shower guests were all dressed up in the accessories and I realized how fun it all looked. But that isn't what she wanted to show me. There was more! She took me down the back hall where there were pink beads in front of a slightly opened door and she reached through and pushed it open so I could see. What fun! It was another princess party! This one was much different than the ice cream one up front. This one was at a formally-set table and there was a beautiful cake and fruit plate and a few kinds of little triangle sandwiches and crystal cups and cute decorations. All of the princesses had tiaras and royal sceptors. There were fancy little favor bags in a basket next to the door and we saw a photo that looked like it was just taken of the group. Very cute! All of the children were wide-eyed as they watched a guy finish some funny juggling and then do a rope trick that was quite entertaining. They all cheered for him as he came our way and we decided it was time to leave and go back up front and finish our wonderful lunch that we had forgotten about. This place is magical. I saw so much laughter and smiling. It was quite obvious that the business was a memory maker. What a blessing the two of us had and we were only there for lunch! I can't wait until we come back for their christmas tea event in December. Hidden treasure was found today. Roseville has a major attraction right in the middle of its old downtown area. I'm still smiling to myself. Thank you for letting me share some of the joy I received today.

      Tearoom response:

You hold the record for the longest review ever written about us on TeaMap! Wow. That was a significant amount of time you spent taking readers on a walking tour through our establishment and the result was a very nice 'visual' of almost every aspect of our business. Now we need to get you to come for a Ladies Night Out or a Holiday High Tea, etc.! Thank you!!!

My old favorite tea parlor, An Afternoon to Remember, closed and a friend recommended that we try A Dash of Panache. We did but I was not expecting much since I had never heard of this place. BOY WAS I SURPRISED! I loved the interior of the parlor, the music, the food (oh my, THE FOOD!) I was in 'ahhh' and I fell in love. I have to admit that I now have a NEW FAVORITE.

      Tearoom response:

Yes, we all miss Amy's parlor in Newcastle. We're very happy that you found a new favorite here in Roseville. Thank you for posting your wonderful comments here for all to read. We really appreciate you taking time to do so!

My first time to a tea parlor outside of the San Franciso area. What a nice facility and what a creative concept this business has! Excellent in all areas and I enjoyed being able to brew my own tea under the expert guidance of the hostess serving me. I couldn't get my friend to dress up in the vanity closet but it sure looked like fun as I watched the other guests giggle and take pictures. The food was better than what I was used to being served in SF and there was a lot more of it too. I recommend panache without reservation.

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for the review! Our team was excited to read it! You comments are interesting about the Vanity Closet. Every now and then we get a group that doesn't want to touch the closet. They seem too 'proper' to let loose and have fun. But as soon as one of them returns from the restroom and pauses by the closet and then returns to the table with a boa or a cute hat, the whole group ends up at the closet giggling. It's a ton of fun to watch the process repeat itself over and over.

My out-of-state cousin and I picked this tearoom because of the reviews. We had previously gone to 'A Time to Remember' in Newcastle, but they have closed their doors. Our loss as this place was a poor second. They were out of a number of teas, the food was mediocre and the service was lacking. I took leftovers home and my husband ate the sandwich we had taken. His comment? The sandwich ingredients didn't go together and the meat and cheese were cheap. We won't be back.

      Tearoom response:

We had a full parlor and we received so many positive comments that day that your review was very surprising and, honestly, a bit harsh...ouch. We did not have your name down on any recent reservations so we assume you were a guest of someone else. You are officially the first guest to ever refer to our food as mediocre and we're so sorry you felt that way. We don't like to disagree with reviews because feedback is helpful and we know people's viewpoints can vary as well as their likes and dislikes. However, because this is a public review for all to read, we feel we should at least respond to a few of the comments that are not so subjective. We offer one of the largest selections of loose leaf teas around (nearly 50) and being out of a few flavors between shipments is common because we try not to overstock (we are currently out of 6 with a shipment arriving any moment). Our meats and cheeses are all premium quality and fresh. On 10/4 we served an assortment of highly praised sandwiches (our famous grilled chicken salad with slivered almonds and sliced grapes, our creamy egg salad with dill, and our cucumber cream cheese with lemon pepper). We have never been told the ingredients didn't go together but, again, we understand tastes vary...but it's really not fair to say the 'meat and cheese were cheap.' We're so sorry you had a negative experience.

06/02/09 – My best friend and I drove from the Bay Area to check out a wedding site and decided to make a fun day of it and stop in for lunch and tea. We usually visit Victorian tea houses and wasn’t sure what to expect from a French-Deco tea room. We loved it! Fun setting, delicious food and a large assortment of loose teas to choose from. Our server Kim was excellent. We will definitely add this to our list of our favorite tearooms. We are already planning our next visit.

      Tearoom response:

We attended the Mother's Day High Tea yesterday. Thankful I got the reservations when I did because they were full. I brought my husband and family along and we were not only stuffed with the excellent courses of food, but we had a lot of fun interacting with the host. The special memory for me will be hearing the wonderful comments by my family about me as a mother when the host prompted the comments. I hope this will be our new family tradition.

      Tearoom response:

We opened on Mother's Day 4 years ago so this was our 5th Mother's Day event. This year was expecially fun for the staff too. Recently moved to the Sacramento area and just had to start checking out the new tea parlors in the area. Dash was our 3rd parlor in the area. I was 'wow'ed' with the unique room design and just about everything I can think of in relation to the actual tea experience itself. This beats anything in Southern California (where we moved from). Thank you for a wonderful experience. I'll be back! I enjoyed the staff!

      Tearoom response:

Welcome to the Sacramento area! While there are fewer and fewer tea parlors in the area, there are still a few of us left (and we're all good in various ways). And we ALL appreciate you visiting us. We're looking forward to seeing you back in the future.

I took my daughter to Dash of Panache today. We were really looking forward to it - we love tea rooms...had yet to try this one. We drove a half hour to get there. We arrived at 3:50 and we were told we couldn't be served because we didn't have reservations. The place was almost empty - only two small tables had patrons. I explained we just wanted tea and scones, but the gal said it wasn't a good time because some people with reservations were coming in soon, and they only had 3 people on staff. I have never been turned away from an empty restaurant with the excuse that it's just too busy. My daughter and I were so disappointed. So all I can say for this review is I will never go back there. Tea is meant to be a lovely experience, and the wait staff were just standing there, looking dismal, doing nothing, and they just had no intention of trying to accomodate us in any way.

      Tearoom response:

I am confused by this entry. On 5/5 (Monday), our Cafe hours were 10a-2p (we shorten our hours on Mondays because Monday traffic is very light). Our team was scheduled to leave by 2:30p because we had no Tea Parlor reservations that day. Is it possible you got your date mixed up?<BR> Almost all tea parlors require advanced reservations. Our parlor requires reservations because we serve fresh-baked food. Often times we can accommodate walk-in traffic in our Tea Parlor if we have enough extra food/staff to handle it. <BR> So, let's assume you came in on a different date without calling ahead before driving 30 minutes... Because our team's mission is to serve people and to foster friendships, it's a big deal when we can't accommodate a walk-in. If our team was not extremely kind and empathetic in having to turn you away, I am very interested in getting a more accurate date/time from you so I can do some serious educating. In my experience with our associates, if they stated that they were unable to accommodate you because of a large group coming in later, I would believe that they truly were unable to serve you even if it looked like they were not very busy (large groups require a lot of advanced preparation). I am so sorry it frustrated you. I hope you will give us another chance to make a special day for you and your daughter (please make a reservation).

Three couples visited in early March (3 guys, 3 girls). The food was wonderful--best cucumber sandwiches ever and everything else just as good. The service was very comfortable; very friendly and allowed us to have a very leisurely Sunday brunch. We especially appreciated the decor--it was elegant, and the men in our party felt more at home there than at some of the frillier places we've tried. And with the coupon, it was a real bargain, too. We'll be back!

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for taking time to give us a review! We know it's sometimes tough to drag out the guys to a tea parlor and it's always fun to watch them realize that the food is plentiful and the relaxed conversation with their ladies is a major way to earn points!

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for the feedback, Jennifer! Our Holiday High Tea (Christmas Tea) was very successful. We served more than twice the guests that we did last year and 98% of the feedback forms were 'exceeds expectations' with only 2% 'meets expectations.' The Hibbiscus Cranberry Black Tea is Karen's own recipe and we got rave reviews from everyone who tried it. The only frustration we had was when our nice surround sound system stopped working part way through the 2nd week and we had to use the Party Room's speakers to entertain the guests in the tea parlor. Everyone was very understanding though and the sound was acceptable.

I made reservations two weeks prior to our visit. I specifically told the young woman that I was a vegetarian. On the day, the young man preparing the food said no one had told him about the vegetarian meal and would have to re-make the sandwiches. Then came out and asked if I could just eat cucumber sandwiches. Also the cinnamon rolls were hard. There were only two tables dressed, the other three were bare and 8 chairs were crammed on the wall next to a table. I was just disappointed. Tea selection was nice.

      Tearoom response:

Dear Nora, we recently found out that someone added us to this website and we discovered your review. We (owners) were not here that day but we were aware of the situation after interviewing with our associates who were. I have spoken with you on the phone in order to attempt to rectify the situation and I'm adding a response here so other readers are aware of our conversation.<BR> Our computerized reservation did have you listed as vegetarian but the associate who waited on you was not able to access that information when you arrived. Since we (owners) and the supervisor are all vegetarians ourselves, we completely understand your frustration. Because of your comments, we have had meetings with our associates and implemented a few policies like double-checking table dressings and room arrangement. <BR> The cinnamon rolls are usually very fresh and warm right out of the oven. The associate could not recall whether the rolls were baked too early or too long but our team will be much more aware of this possibility in the future. We thank you for your honest review and we hope to exceed your expectations on your next visit.

Although I liked the tea I chose, and the food was tasty. Delicious scones. The decor dark, and very slow service will prevent me and others from our group revisiting the Dash.

      Tearoom response:

Thanks for the feedback Debbie. We're glad you enjoyed the food. We couldn't find your name in any of the reservations for the month before the review date so we are unable to contact you directly. The slow service is my main concern and because I don't know any other details, I'm not sure who was working or how many tables we were serving. We try not to rush guests because many like to take their time visiting over tea but if we seemed inattentive, I am very sorry for that and would like another chance to show you what we're really like. <BR> The dark decor is a difficult comment to fix. Our decor is uniquely french-deco so our table cloths are black linen with white doilies and clear crystal plates/cups. Some walls are tan and some are burgundy but the chandeliers and sconces are bright. We often get compliments on our french-deco decor which is purposefully different than the typical victorian look.

I saw one somewhat negative review (amongs the many glowing ones) below and decided to go anyway. That negative person was so far from the truth. This tea parlor is excellent! Michelle, this review was quite old before we even knew we were on this website so we're not sure if we can rectify things now...but we certainly don't seem to fit your description at this point. Our food is very typical of parlors serving high tea (scones, rolls, petite sandwiches, quiche, petit fours, etc.) and guests are frequently raving over the food and the quantity of it...we serve a lot of food for the price. We are so sorry your experience was not typical of most guests and we're saddened to hear that out of the many you've been to, this is the 'only one' you would not return to.
