We had a late Mother's Day celebration with Grandma, Aunts and 5 childrent ranging in ages 13, 11, 9, 8, 4, and 14 weeks. We all loved dressing up in hats and boas. Loved that the kids could do a craft too. Everyone loved it. Would definitely go back. Thank you especially to our server (I never got her name), she was great with the kids and very attentive!

Well worth the $$$ This was the most amazing experience! My daughter and three friends had a most wonderful time and enjoyed the atmospher, food and music. Their mom as well as my self had just as much fun as the girls and want to have our own birthday party there! It was like being a kid again and who doesn't want that!!!!!

way to expensive for the service and food. I do not recommend!

      Tearoom response:

Cheryl, I am so sorry you had a less than fabulous experience- I wish you had said something to us as we certainly would have made it up to you. Please contact me so I can offer you a complimentary tea to make up for it.

We were served moldy berries. It was so gross. Way too expensive for what it is worth.

      Tearoom response:

Debra, I am sorry you and Cheryl were not absolutely delighted with your tea here. I would never knowingly serve anything but the freshest & best! You should have let us know that day that you were not happy- call me & I will make it up to you!

Recently I was honored at a tea celebrating my 90th birthday and it was truly a beautiful affair. The table was gorgeously set with china, silver, and fresh floral arrangements. The four course tea was freshly prepared and delicious, beginning with heart shaped scones with raspberry jam and devonshire cream, chocolate dipped strawberries, an assortment of tea sandwiches, ending with a four tier lemon cake. Throughout the meal exotic teas were served by attentive young ladies.I have attended teas on numerous occasions but none could compare with this. This tea shop went out of their way to make my birthday celebration a memorable one.

Well this was our, Gabby (6 yr.) and I (28 yr.), second experience going to a tea room. We decided to go to a more child friendly atmosphere, oh and we also invited a friend (4 yr.). The girls and I were so excited to go to Teddy Bears and Teacups, I love saying that:) So does Gabby....anyways the had dress-up, arts and crafts, and a toy store to explore before being seated. It surprised me that there was a toy store in front of business and then tea room in back. But they did sell tea stuff, as well in tea room. Food was good, not really a strong presentation of the food, i.e.no 3 tier. They had only a lemonade punch drink for the girls, other then tea. They wanted hot chocolate. The girls fell in love with the homemade cookies and the atmosphere. The service was good, and made it very easy to change some things on the menu that Gabby after getting didnt like:) Which is a plus when your with kids. The only thing, is the store customers tend to stare at you, as your eating...thats it. Oh and parking sucks....went on a weekday for lunch, couldnt imagine going on a weekend....other then that we liked it and would return in the future. Gabby still talks about that place with excitement:)

I was most impressed with the service and friendly smiling faces of the proprietor and her servers. They were outstanding. My experience was due to a 90th birthday party and couldn't have ask for more of anything. The cake was an outstanding 4 layer lemon cake to top off the afternoon. All of the food was baked and prepared the day of our visit even the scones.

I have been going to Teddy Bears and Tea Cups for about 5 years now. My daughters just adore the girls that work there. They are always so pleasant and really connect with kids. The gingerbread house decorating that they offer is a must do. They have an event for every holiday and season. My children get so excited everytime we go visit and make a bracelet. It even brings back the little princess in myself. They have a very wide variety of everything princess, for evey age.

I have been to so many tea rooms from the east coast to canada and all thru out Calif and was very disapointed in the lack service, food and quality. The scone was dry and plopped on our plate, then we were served a small portion of sandwiches with fruit, the bread was very dry, and never once did the young server girl give any desciption of what we were being served. Then a piece of what appeared to be store bought cake was the rest if tea, and the kicker of it all was when we recd our bill, they had added the 8.00 gratuity with out permission, and it was not warrented. I thought tips were not assumed but earned. I will never go back and have tea for the cost for 2 was 55.00(with automatic tip)and no comparison to other tea rooms that are better in presentation and service-like Truffles in Lace, and Aubrey Rose!!!in the So Cal area. The nicest thing about tea room was the actual store and it was very cute!!

My daughters and I spent an afternoon at Teddy Bears and Tea Cups recently and had a wonderful time! The food and tea were absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and friendly. After we had finished in the tea room, we really enjoyed exploring the gift shop area. It's really the perfect place to pick up a special gift, and we came away with a couple of really cute accessories for my daughters' bedroom. While taking in all that Balboa Island has to offer, I think visiting Teddy Bears and Tea Cups is a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

I often find myself visiting tea rooms around the country as my wife is an afficionado of tea. This quaint shop on Balboa Island, with it's tearoom in hidden in the back of the store, rivals the larger tearooms we have visited in our travels. The food is plentiful, the tea choices many, and the service is excellent (not to mention its beautiful location in Newport Harbor). I found the scones to be especially delicious, which did not surprise me when I heard the teashop owner has a degree in home economics. We will definitely revisit this 5 star tea & gift shop in it's lovely location upon our return to southern California.

Teddy Bears and Tea Cups is a wonderful place to enjoy tea with friends and family. I recently attended an afternoon tea with my grandmother and cousins, and it was a very memorable experience. The quality of food offered has great variety, with many tasty options for both food and fine teas. In particular, the homemade scones were certainly a highlight! Additionally, the location of this quiant tea room and shop on Balboa Island's Marine St. makes it a perfect afternoon or weekend get away destination. Highly recommended!

This charming children's boutique on Balboa Island houses one of Orange County's best kept secrets ... a beautifully appointed tea room in the back of the shop! We had a wonderful afternoon tea complete with delicious sandwiches, fresh fruit, and delectable scones warm from the oven, topped with homemade devonshire cream and jam. The desserts were quite generous as were the children's portions (too much for my girls to finish). The selection of teas was also quite remarkable. I felt the shop owner and servers were well versed in the 'art of tea'. They were attentive, pleasant, and even provided live entertainment. As many of the tea rooms in OC have closed in recent years, this delightful tea room definitely fills the void. Having taken tea throughout the United States, I felt this was one of the best ever and will plan a return visit soon.
