Cheryl Turner and her staff are accommodating and friendly. Killer scones served warm, 50+ teas to choose from. If you’re not sure what you want, the staff will ask you a few questions and come up with something you love. This is my favorite tea house.

Have been going to this darling place for a long time. I took my daughter there for her Birthday. I always order Salad Nicoise. They are charging same price but they used canned green beans, Hardly any potatoes, egg almost could not find them and beets were almos non existant. You should take this item off of your menu or go back and fix it like you used to. Canned beans what a sin!!!!!!!

I love Paris in a Cup. My mother and I consider ourselves tea snobs so we take this very seriously. Every time we go the food is wonderful and the tea is always piping hot. The service is always good but when it is packed it can be a little hard to hear your own conversation. Went hear for the Joyuex Noel tea and it was an Amazing Christmas tea. We try to go every couple of months.

The proper way to prepare tea is to boil the water before serving. Their water is lukewarm and not brought up to the proper temperature. The tea is lukewarm and quickly goes cold.

The chicken in the salad is processed and VERY salty. I couldn't eat it.

Twelve of our Vintage Babes had a wonderful experience at this tea house. The tea was top notch, food excellent, and the service super. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accomodating. In fact we're planning a return trip. Recommend this this fine establishment for a delightful afternoon of tea.

I have to agree with Renee 'pretty little place was spoiled by the cold reception we received.' I was out with my sister and mom and thought I would stop in and see if there was anything open... You would have thought I asked for a million dollars! This is not the first visit that I was not treated very well at. I guess I don't fit the profile they want in their Tea Room. Let's just say they sure don't try to hide it when they don't want your business! Really to bad when it's so cute too. But I will not compromise my dignity for a cup of tea no matter how cute the place is!

What a delightful experience we had at this tea room! The atmosphere was lovely in a class and elegant kind of way. I particularly liked the fact that the shop is separate from the tea room as I've been in many tea rooms where everything around you is for sale. it takes something away from the experience to see price tags hanging off every piece of decor. The food was excellent and artistically presented. The thing that most impressed me about this tea room was careful attention to beauty in every detail. We found the staff helpful and gracious. Even with the drive from my home in San Diego, I will definitely return to this lovely tea room.

It's too bad this pretty little place was spoiled by the cold reception we received. Had reservations made well in advance for a special event. We were almost seated in a major traffic path and when we asked for another table, the owner was visible unhappy...I would have walked out, but was with a group. Food was OK, but my $20 salad was so unimaginative. Scones were delicious and the best part of the meal. Tea was fine. Owner was hovering to hint that we leave when we finished. Someone actually came and knocked on the bathroom door to hurry me along!!! After spending $150 on lunch and a bundle in the gift shop, I would have liked a more gracious welcome & good-by. We neglected to read the fine print and it was quite a shock to see the 18% gratuity added for only 4 people. There are lots of shops who would welcome business in this economy. Apparently the owner of this establishment does not care.

We visited Paris in a Cup for my daughter's birthday on a Sunday in Feb. A group of 9 of us had a wonderful time at this simply adorable tea room. It sparkles, and I could have curled up in a corner and stayed about a week! Delicious food and wonderful cervice. I have been recommending it to all my friends. Also, love the little shop out in front!

I am very suprised at the review below. I am a frequent customer to Paris, at least once a month (sometimes twice) I am always greeted very warmly when I come, and when I leave they always wish me a good day. I was there today and was pleased as always with my visit. The food is to die for!!!

I absolutely cannot believe someone didn't enjoy the Joyeaux Noel Tea. I mean, did we even go to the same event? Me and my sisters took our mom last weekend; and we were blown away! While it did get kind of loud in the tea room (what do you expect a roomful of women to sound like?), we had a nice cozy corner to ourselves and had a wonderful time. The food was EXCELLENT! I still wish I can steal their scone recipe! The rest of the courses were equally tasty- which included salad and a yummy soup that I can't pronounce, let alone spell. Haha. Anyways, towards the end of the meal a trio of elaborately costumed Victorian carolers came in and performed some holiday songs for us. Their voices were BEAUTIFUL and completely topped off the event. The tea lasted almost 3 hours, and although my stomach wanted to burst- we happily enjoyed all that time together. My mom loved her gift and was happy it was a souvenir that she could enjoy for a long time, and that she'd have it always to remember that day. We will most definitely be back next year, and we can't wait to see how they will top this year's!

Last weekend we came to the special Joyeux Noel Tea, a Royal Tea fit for a Queen, if you like being packed in like sardines, paying $50 for sub standard fare and pushed in and out without time to enjoy, then this is the tea for you, my friends and I were sadly very disappointed, we expected something far more grand as advertised on the website, not worth the long drive. For the extremely high price we were expecting a true Royal Tea fit for a Queen, not what was served. We love Teamap though!!!

It's a nice shop, very beautifully decorated but the food and service was average. For the price you pay (very expensive-- I ordered the full tea which was $45 with tax & gratuity) per person we should have been allowed more tea choices and pots.

We were a party of eight and even though we paid for a full tea each, we were only allowed two tea selections for the entire duration of the visit. They wouldn't even allow us to change one flavor (so pick wisely!) after the pot was empty. We paid well over $300 for the final bill, you would think they'd loosen the 'tea bag strings' and give us a different pot of tea, if we had all gone in individually we would have each had our own tea pot for what we paid!

The soup (potato) was delicious but the sandwiches were pretty bland. The scones were good and warm but the cream served with them was just a spot of whipped cream, not clotted or Devonshire cream as we're used to in such places and they did not serve any lemon curd even though they sold a 'French' lemon curd in their gift shop (I may have bought it if they would have let us try it, again a little on the skimpy side for the price!). The 'petit fours' were actually 3 tiny desserts that were nothing special, not bad but not 'to die for' as some reviewers have stated. The service was so-so, I suppose she didn't feel the need to try too hard since the 18% gratuity was automatically attached to the bill.

The gift shop was very nice and worth a repeat visit for unique jewelry, tea and other quaint items, especially if you are into gifts and things with a Parisian flair.

I was here with a large party and all went smoothly and the service was great and friendly. It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and nicely presented. The decor is lovely and there is a great gift shop with lots of Paris and tea items.

The tea menu was large and we got to choose 2 types for our group. I would like to go again on a smaller scale to get a better feel for it. The teas are typically English and from what I could tell all brewed English style. It was over all very charming and a lovely experience. I hope to go there again soon.

My sister in law was visiting from South Carolina and had never been to a tea room before. On a whim, we made our reservations and what a wonderful time we had. This was my 4th time there and nothing was a dissapointment. My sister in law spent 2 years living in France and was pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of the music, and decor....all the way down to the decorations in the restrooms. We had a similar experience as another person on this site.

I didnt feel any warm hospitality at Paris in a Cup.

To start: there was a discrepancy on the number of people in our party. We thought we told them 15. They thought we told them 12. In the end, 13 people showed up.

The manager literally refused to add an extra placesetting at the end of a table for our 13th guest. The manager said she was sorry, that there was no room. She wasnt particularly nice about it. She seemed annoyed, as if this happens all the time, and she is tired of making exceptions.

When we struggled to find a solution, we asked if we could seat our 13th guest at the end of the table. The manager claimed they didnt have an extra chair. Then, when 3 petite people in our party offered to share one of the 2-person booths, the manager said this 'wasnt allowed.'

Our guest of honor was a wreck. This was supposed to be a day of calm for her. She had to plead with the manager, so that someone didnt have to go home (They finally allowed it. And somehow, a chair magically appeared).

In addition, we were NOT told in advance of their strict NO BABIES OR TODDLERS policy. Luckily, one of us checked the website the day before, so we got babysitters last-minute. Had any of us brought a baby, we would have surely been turned away. They ask that ONLY children who can sit UNASSISTED in a chair come to the event. And children must STAY SEATED THE ENTIRE TIME.

There are also issues of time. They determine your maximum # of hours according to the number of people in your party. Our group had a 2-hour maximum. Two hours is quite short for a special event (of any size). We felt rushed. The courses came quickly. The servers were going-through the motions. And we got different servers throughout the tea service.

At other tea houses Ive been to, the hostess for your table (or group) warmly comes around several times throughout the service, and explains every course, checks your hot water, etc. Not here. I assumed it was because they were rushing to get through 3 courses in 2 hours.

But I also wondered if they were just annoyed with our group because they thought we were high maintenance (ie: the extra placesetting)

I understand the need for rules when it comes to group events, but at Paris in a Cup, the rules are so strictly enforced that it seriously diminishes the level hospitality. The rules make you nervous - like they are mad at you if anything doesnt go according to plan.

Other tea houses have figured out how to set boundaries without making their customers feel unwelcome. Ive been to many of these types of girl's-day-out events at various tea houses in Southern California, and never before been so shocked at the refusal to be flexible.

My advice to customers is to read ALL the fine print on the website BEFORE you plan an event there. Be very specific on your RSVP count, and get it in writing. Tell your guests ALL of the rules (write it out on the invitation) so that they dont bring an extra person with them, or worse: a baby or a skirmy child. Keep your eye on the clock during your event so that you dont run out of time (especially important if there are gifts to open).

And if anything doesnt go according to plan (as we all know can happen when you've invited a large group) be ready for a bit of attitude from the staff and manager. Try not to let it damper the excitement of your big day.

Our tea experience at Paris In A Cup was delightful. Our server, Shanda, was enchanting and most attentive. We felt very pampered. The food was wonderful and my favorite was the roasted red pepper soup. We had a great time shopping in the boutique and it reminded me of some of the little shops in the real Paris on my last visit.

My friends and I enjoyed a marvelous cup of tea at Paris in a Cup. I was disappointed that the portions were not served so that we could share amongst our entire party. We all felt we ordered way too much food in order to get the complete 'tea experience'. The prices were a bit high and in this down ecomony it will be awhile before I can afford to splurge like that again. The tea selection was phenominal. I absolutely loved the Sable tea. The decor while cute and very different from the usual English faire, had a noisy and less than relaxing sense about it. I'm sure it has to do with trying to accomodate as many as possible but there were so many ladies in the tea room and the noise level so high that we were not really able to enjoy our visit.

This place is WONDERFUL! The food was very good my group had the Madame du Barry, we started with the Paris & Peach tea (both excellent) 2 scones one was chocolate chip and the other was sugar with all the fixings, we had a chicken salad dijon sandwich, apple & cheddar sandwich cut into the shape of an apple and a ham sandwich with red roasted pepper pineapple cream cheese spread. We received 3 little desserts one was a chocolate encased cake, a chocolate coffee cake and a cheesecake square. Our server Katie was a doll and the owner Cheryl was very gracious as well. Cheryl,

So, weird that my computer is blocked from this review sight now. I guess that is one way to keep customers from responding. I imagine this email will be blocked next.

Wow, anyway this is in response to your email. It was clear that I was not “fine” with our earlier discussion. During that discussion I clearly told you that I felt you made the problem ours when one of your only solutions was that maybe someone will cancel and there will be more room and because you were the one who told my husband and friend it was ok to give the final count a couple days before. When the call was made (2 DAYS before as you requested, remember we cancelled the day before) that is when you told them that we couldn’t add a person. I have never personally heard this rule from other restaurants perhaps you should add that to your website. So it is clear. They did tell you during that conversation that we would be coming with 9. They were as surprised as I was to your response and concerned about what was going to happen regarding the party and they needed time to think about it.

If you actually told my friend that the space she liked only held 8 people, then when you talked to my husband 4 weeks out and he told you there would be about 7 - 10 people you should have made the adjustment and made it clear to him. But you didn’t express concern you told him your restaurant holds about 48 people. Again who knows 4 - 5 weeks out who is going to make it to a party?

I love that you are trying to pass blame to the other two people who were involved. My husband is big on details for things like this, and my friend has planned many parties herself. If you would like them to share their comments separately, just let me know. Cheryl you are the professional you should make sure that your restaurant details our clear to people. If you were getting sooo busy on that day YOU should have called us earlier to get that final count. That would have been the professional thing to do. When this reservation was made there were no other reservations on your books for that day.

Now, you also say in this email that adding the extra chair was not going to be a big problem. When you and I talked you said it would be VERY tight. You said we would have to pass food down ourselves because there wouldn’t be room. I asked you what kind of tables you planned to use for this party. You said 4 two tops. Which means you can’t slide chairs down to give the people on the end more room. Between every chair are table legs. I asked you the table size. You said the length was about 24 inches. You wanted to put 3 adults and 3 plates with teacups at a table this size. You were not kidding when you said it would be tight. Simply, I wouldn’t do this to my friends or family. Should I have told one of my guests that they were uninvited to make it more convenient for you? Seriously?

You are right about one thing I was disappointed. I was disappointed we had to reschedule everything so last minute. Now you did confess to my friend that you OVERBOOKED the room that day. And during our conversation your all over lack of concern made it clear to us all that we would be doing you a big favor by canceling our reservation, we did your other customers a favor that day too. You are welcome. Also, during our conversation I thanked you specifically for your time, not for your help, there was none.

Cheryl, you know what happened. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for you. It seems as though you are not treating all of your customers this way. But all of your customers should count, even if you do overbook and find yourself in a predicament. No worries, I had a wonderful time at my shower at the St. Regis. In fact, I enjoyed being able to sit at my table for much more than one and a half hours. Isn’t that your seating time limit? Don’t worry about me responding again, I am sure this email will be blocked as well. Obviously, you really don’t want to know how your customers feel unless it is “pretty”.

C.M - I am sure the food is great and so is the atmosphere and the choice of tea is wonderful. That is why we wanted to go there, that is why we were disappointed. You don’t mention what part of the party you actually planned. It seem as though you are trying to compare apples to something not even fruit. I am also sure that if Cheryl puts her mind to it she can schedule reservations for a party. For us though, she failed.

I honestly cannot believe the review beneath mine talking about large party booking. I attended a baby shower there about 2 months ago (that I partially planned) and it went perfectly! The entire staff at Paris in a Cup was extremely warm and friendly and we had an amazing time. We booked about a month in advance (obviously you must do that for a place as lovely as this one...it fills up fast!)

The food and atmosphere were amazing, and we had SO many delicious choices of tea that we could hardly make up our minds!

Paris in a Cup is by far the loveliest place I've ever been to tea, and I will tell everyone about it.

TIPS- Try to book a week or two in advance if you'd like to enjoy on a Saturday or a Sunday to ensure yourself a space! Paris in a Cup is quickly becoming the 'it' tea room in Southern California!...it is well worth the wait!

Thank you Paris in a Cup!

Absolutely one of the most gorgeous tea rooms I've visited. Owners have just done an a remarkable job re-vamping the traditional boring English tea room, into something so sophisticating and bold. It is such a breath of fresh air in the Old Towne Orange District. This place is a definitely noteworthy for ladies looking for a chic and elegant venue for their next shower or mom's day; trust me, it will take a lot for your friends to top this place. :) i know mine can't, and i'd like to see them try. until then, we'll surely be going to tea in 'Paris'

      TIPS:

      -Definitely order the iced tea--yum!

-Splurge for one day on their desserts! double yum!

-If you get cold easily in restaurants, be sure to bring a sweater...(when i went, it was quite chilly inside!)

What a fabulous place to have afternoon tea at! Everything is so nice and pretty. The food was good too. At first my husband thought the portions were small, but later he was actually full. (We now know why French women stay so slim because they don't overeat.) I had rose petal tea and it was the best I have had. The shop was also adorable. Paris In A Cup is like the french version of the Scarlet Tea Room in OC. Will definitely go back again.

My first visit to the Tearoom during the Holidays was wonderfully supberb, as expected-great tasting tea, quaint relaxing atmosphere and the tea sandwiches appropriate.

I enjoyed my visit so much I returned again with friends. The second visit was pleasant, but the food portion size appeared to be smaller. It is my understanding that the selections vary, but this is a tea room, not a 5 star French restaurant, where one would expect to pay for Excellent French Cuisine and Artistry and not for teeny, tiny less than bite size portions. Thought I would re visit at a later time in the day..

I have to comment on how disappointed I was the third visit, there was a very large, obnoxious Red Had Group overwhelming and filling the entire room!Perhaps this Tea Room should make accomodations for very large parties after the lunch/early afternoon hours. The sandwiches were less than bite size, and the service wasn't as friendly. (Perhaps the server was too tired from the Red Hats). Although this tea room is still lovely, may I suggest they re-evaluate their menu size portions and selections and provide those of us a nice, calm and relaxing experience-

Beautiful interior and fantastic service. If you want choices (sandwich type, different salad or soups, desserts) this place probably isn't for you. The fresh scones were delicious (a little small). Everything beautifully presented. The teas were prepared in the kitchen and brought to you in a pot. Nice variety of teas. I am a vegetarian and the server substituted the chicken sandwich for a veggie one. Asparagus soups was made with chicken stock (so I couldn't have it), but my mom did and said it was great. As an admirer of the Art of The French Tea, the opening of this establishment in December was long awaited. My second visit to Paris In A Cup Tea Salon was last Saturday. I was just as wonderfully overwhelmed as the first time! The Tea Salon is floor-to-ceiling stunning. All created from the inspiration of its owner, Cheryl Turner. (Unfortunately, there is not yet a picture on TeaMap.com.) The tables are dressed beautifully. The delicious menu items, which are prepared in their chic, 'neat as a pin' service area, are creative and very well presented. The tea selection offers a wide variety, including must try tea blends imported from France. The professionally attired wait staff provided exceptional service.

The delightful boutique that greets you and bids you adieu as you leave the Tea Salon further enhanced the overall tea experience. The boutique is a feast for the eyes as well. Many of the teas served are available for purchase in the boutique market. Do try their imported chocolates for a bite of pure luxury.

I, for one, am glad that Cheryl's dream came true, and I will return again with friends to celebrate and enjoy her labor of love that is Paris In A Cup.

(Attire tip: Please leave your shorts and blue jeans at home for this special tea experience.)

Don't know how it's possible that there are no other reviews yet of this picture perfect tea spot. Maybe Paris in a Cup's are too awestruck to comment. This tea salon is gorgeous and tea guests are treated with the utmost care and reverence from the beautiful gift-wrapped chocolate awaiting at each place setting to the attentive and courteous service. Well worth the price of the holiday tea. People may love Paris in the spring, but this place is a place to love year-round
