Delightful tea room! The sisters that wait tables are precious and know their teas. The owner is gracious as well. The presentation was lovely and the food was yummy. Good tea, of course. Lots of offerings and seasonal teas. Well worth the two-hour drive to get there. Very special time celebrating the cancer-free status of my sister!

This was my first time going to a tea parlor and I really enjoyed it. I don't like tea very much, but now I'm excited about trying more! I loved the gift shop and the food was tasty!

Ladybedfords is the place to be! Not only will you receive great service (by the charming twins if you're lucky), but chef Joe Henderson is undoubtedly one of the best in the pines. What a breath of fresh air this place is.

I have enjoyed Lady Bedford's Tea Parlour several times. I can not possibly put into words how much I personally enjoy the full experience of this delightful Tea Parlour. The wonderful staff are always sure to make me smile the moment I arrive. They welcome my "pickiness" with a warm smile and always surpass my requests. The ambience makes your visit even more delightful. The food is, well all I can say is super yummy :) The variety of loose tea is great. I have my favorite (Chocolate Cherry Supreme) and am sure to always leave with a bag to enjoy at home. The presentation is beautiful and you have to take your time to enjoy it all. I absolutely love Lady Bedford's Afternoon Tea, which is in my opinion the ultimate Tea Experience. I am sure everything on the menu is just as delicious, I just can not vary from the full experience of their Afternoon Tea! I have taken several friends (some for their first Tea Room experience) and they all leave with huge smiles on their faces looking forward to their next visit! Try Lady Bedford's for yourself. You will love it!

Lovely victorian relaxing atmosphere. Great attention to detail. Menu includes breakfast and lunch items in addition to a variety of tea choices. Wide assortment of loose leaf teas including some seasonal selections. We were offered a smell of loose leaf teas we were interested in ordering. Our party of three each ordered the Lady Bedford's Afternoon Tea which includes scones, assorted tea sandwiches, and savories. We each had our own 3 tiered tray. Met all expectations as everything was deliciously exquisite.

Excellent tea menu. Properly steeped and served by knowledgeable servers Ann and Joan. Lovely atmosphere. Light lunch enjoyed by our party of three. Fresh garden salad, wonderful egg salad croissant, delicious potato bacon cheddar soup. Special mention Greek style quiche. Great balance of sweet and savory with the balsamic reduction drizzled on top. Delightful atmosphere and place settings. Great place for quiet, elegant tea and/or lunch. Will return.

As I entered Lady Bedford's with my Jack and Jill sisters Susan, Kelly, and Dominique, we instantly felt the warmth seeping from the tearoom as soon as we were seated. We were greeted by the loveliest ladies with smiles for miles! The cute cozies snuggled around each tiny teapot made the celebration and experience even more magical! We each received our own tea tiered tray-stand with scrumptious Christmas tree shaped sandwiches, ornament sized scones topped with fresh fruit. I will always remember the sweet scent of coconut tea as my first cup was poured... #Tea Terrific!!!

My daughters and I go to Lady Bedford's every Christmas for high tea. It is one of our favorite holiday traditions. The variety of teas is amazing and the food is excellent. Although we get the high tea with all its traditional parts, the menu seems to offer something for everyone. The atmosphere is cozy and cute, and the staff is extremely friendly. I always recommend Lady Bedford's to friends.

Our small tea group visited for the Afternoon Tea for the first time a few weeks ago. The tea house was so charming and relaxing. The list of teas gave all of us what we were looking for. We had a fund raiser for our local cancer care fund at Lady Bedford's today for 28 women. It was just wonderful. Marian Caso was so easy to work with and I let her choose the menu-food was over the top - everyone raved over it. The chef explained what was served and he was so knowledgeable. Our 3 servers did such a great job and were so very friendly - it is not easy serving 28 women all at once! Our teas were also delicious. If you have not been there please try Lady Bedford's and I assure you that you will love it too!

Afternoon tea is my favorite pastime therefore I find myself in tea establishments often. Lady Bedford’s is – by far - my FAVORITE tea room. I frequently visit this tea room and I am never disappointed. Please note that for me - visiting means a 90- minute commute (one-way). Without reservation, I declare, it is always worth the effort and the drive. The hospitality at this establishment is second to none! The servers are beyond accommodating. Simply stated, they are phenomenal. You feel as though you are having tea in your own great/living room. The food is FANTASTIC (compliments to Joe) and the tea varieties are extensive. I cannot say enough about how marvelous Lady Bedford’s is and only wish they had a location in Graham, NC. -:)

Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out, and breakfast at Lady Bedford's delights my heart consistently. It's not just a meal, it's an 'artist's date' because it's a chance to bask in a warm, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The owner's attention to detail is meticulous, which communicates the message that guests are valued and pampered. There's a huge selection of teas, and I love having my own cozy-covered pot, containing probably five cups of steaming tea. Although I've been tempted by many items on the breakfast menu, I invariably return to the 'Bedford Breakfast'--quiche, fruit and a scone with butter, jam and (if requested) Devonshire cream. The often-available Kentucky Bourbon Bacon quiche--indescribably delicious! I always leave feeling amply nourished in body and spirit, having received much more than the surprisingly affordable price of breakfast! Other reviews talk about lunch and afternoon tea, but for me, breakfast at Lady Bedford's is the ultimate treat!

I have visited over 30 tea rooms in the US and Lady Bedford's Tea Parlour is up there with the best of them. It's a beautifully decorated tea room, making me think I was back in the Victorian era. We spent an enjoyable afternoon there recently and the friendly staff (sisters that seem to complete each other), the food (I had the *Afternoon Tea* which was a delicious sampling of tea sandwiches, scones and wonderfully tasty desserts (my favorite was the chocolate mousse that was light as air), was wonderful. Be prepared to bring some home because the amounts are quite generous, but I loved that, it meant I could make the experience linger a while longer. There was a great many loose tea's to choose from (my favorite was the Nutcracker Sweet, a black tea blend with lovely Christmas spices). The gift shop is loaded with many different items to choose from, some which came home with me! I must also mention the owner is gracious, and eager to make sure your visit will be a pleasant one. Although we live over 3 hours away, we can't wait to go back. Thank You for a wonderful tea dining experience.

Having lived in England, I developed a necessary and abiding fondness for tea and tea houses. I had great expectations for today's first visit to Lady Bedford's. Alas, I am stretching to give it 3 stars. Let's start with the pluses - lovely Victorian tea room in the charming Village of Pinehurst, attentive and friendly waitress, nice tea selection. On the other side of the equation, the food was beyond bland. The limited menu was expected and therefore you would think Lady Bedford could mange something delicious or at least decent for each item especially at 'boutique', speciality level prices. I ordered egg salad on croissant and a salad = $20! Now I know egg salad is not the most inspirational thing but Lady Bedford, do try again or take off the menu. The salad followed suit -- unimaginative mixed greens with two slices of tomato to count as 'seasonal vegetables'. Lady Bedford, you disappointed and now I understand why the Pinehurst lunch crowd is always at the Villager Deli, which serves fresh food at a great value. For tea house lovers, please try Dobra's in Black Mountain and Asheville NC. They recently opened. A wonderful zen tea house with amazing tea AND yummy, imaginative food.

We happened upon this nice little tearoom while touring around Pinehurst Village. We decided to give it a go, since I absolutely love tea rooms! I had the soup, I think Bell pepper and gouda cheese! It was wonderful! My buddy had a salad, which was a good size and equally as yummy. We also had their 'cream tea' (2 scones, jam, lemon curd and Devonshire Cream), SO DELICIOUS! The staff were all fabulously nice, I will definitely go there again!

Lady Bedford's Tea Parlour has a wide variety of loose-leaf teas. I attended a tea and chocolate pairing and enjoyed the many different teas. It is hard to pick a favorite, I enjoyed the The Monk's Blend and Lady Bedfords Signature Blend. The food is delicious and the dining room is elegant. Attention to detail is all around the room and the service is wonderful. I have had lunch and breakfast at other times and am always impressed with the great service and delicious food. Large menu with great tea and food options. I am so lucky to live in Pinehurst and go to Lady Bedfords a few times each month. Gift shop is great !

My husband and I were coming off an extremely stressful time. We were headed to Charleston from southeast Virginia. We decided a nice stop along the way would be Pinehurst and had heard of a great little tearoom. It was a wonderful respite for us! Eventhough I have always lived in North Carolina, it has been a long time since I was in the Pinehurst area. On Caroline's recommendation, we visited Lady Bedford's Tea Parlor first. Lunch, tea and the ambience sold me quickly! I couldn't finished eating until I checked to see if there was an opening for the luncheon. The bridesmaid luncheon met ALL my expectations and the bride was very pleased! The owner, the chef, and our sweet tea ladies were all very gracious and the luncheon was wonderfu! My mom, aunt, and I took a day trip to The Village of Pinehurst today and made reservations at Lady Bedford's. We were seated in a small room off the main dining room because there was a large provate party in there. It was so lovely to be able to have tea in a secluded, quiet spot. It was like our own private tea room! The food was delectable. Very nice and unique variety of sandwiches (both hot and cold) and the desserts were finely crafted and very petite and tasty. Scones and toppings were perfect and the selection of tea was abundant. I recommend the Spiced Pear! The staff was so attentive and really took the time to make sure we were treated like royalty. The perfect place to pass the time and recover from the chill outside. The 'parlour' was aesthetically pleasing, taking you back to another time and place. The staff, twins Joan and Ann were most attentive...both on our first visit on a day when the place was mostly empty because of bad weather and on our return visit when it was packed because of a child's birthday tea party. My quiche and soup, specials of the day, were delightful. I wanted to eat very slowly to savor each bite. Kudos to Chef Joe! Afterward, we had dessert and tea, mainly to extend our stay and they were very good too. The next day, even though we had just had lunch, we returned for afternoon tea because it had been such a pleasant experience the day before. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, and the experience make me wish this place was closer to home.

Today I made my first visit to Lady Bedford's from Jamestown, NC. The tea takes center stage at this quaint tea parlor; freshly brewed from a vast assortment of quality loose teas, there is something for everyone. A special touch is the list of featured seasonal teas; I tried one with a heavenly maple aroma and flavor that was the perfect accompaniment for a fall day. I was equally pleased with the blueberry lemon bread pudding, warm and moist throughout, each flavor balanced to complement the other without being overpowering. This tea room is tastefully appointed while still being comfortable enough to relax in. Attention to customer service and carefully prepared food round out an ideal tea parlor experience at Lady Bedford's!

I recently visited Lady Bedford's for the second time. I will be going back on many more occasions! I love this little parlour. The Tea: I don't know anything about how to judge the quality of tea, being somewhat new to tea parlours myself, but to me the quality was excellent and there are certainly a wide variety to choose from. Earl Grey is one of my favorites and they serve it admirably here. They also have some green teas, of which I tried the Sencha. TIP (from my friend who studied in Japan): Drink green tea with dessert--the bitter green tea makes the dessert even sweeter! Atmosphere: It's small and cozy. It can be formal or informal, depending on the party's own wishes. The tables are covered in linen table cloths but people can take their tea wearing jeans. The decor is done in a very appealing Victorian style. Food: All the food I tried was outstanding, from the little pastries, sandwiches, scones, etc., to the full sized desserts. I recommend the truffle dessert. Lastly, the servers, owner, and chef were all very welcoming and provided excellent service.

I am the founder of Virginia Tea Society in Virginia Beach, VA and the original Teacher through the Adult Learning Center- VBCPS and moved to Oxford NC and Founded the Old North State Tea Society but began teaching 'Let's Have a Tea Party' classes through Vance Granville Comm. Col. and my former students have helped in teaching . With all of these students I have visited many tea rooms and seen some lovely ones but my experience with my students at Lady Bedfords was so delightful! Pinehurst was a beautiful setting for a grand afternoon of tea and tea foods. The chef has imagination and knows food. Everywhere you look there is something so interesting and lovely. The food, tea, chef, ladies were so glad to serve that I felt I had had a day of vacation in a little wonderland. There was only one that could compare to this but that one is no longer in business. I am so happy this one. Southern Tea Lady 5- 23-12

I enjoyed going to the Lady Bedford's on May 22nd with the Olde North State Tea Society. As a vegan, my lunch was prepared to perfection by the chef. It was the first real vegan experience I have had with any tea room. This has to be my favorite tea room and of course, I really like all the tea things that are for sale.

Dale, thank you for your lovely review. Just wanted to let you know that we do serve 'high tea'. It's, at the same time, cozy, elegant and fun - our server was a doll and made us feel right at home. I went once with my husband and once with my adult son - they were not too sure about having 'high tea' - but they were made to feel comfortable and important - they both loved it as did I. It was my five year old daughter's first tea and my mother and I were there to celebrate with her. Even though we showed up at the breakfast time, the staff and chef went above and beyond and created a customized tea from the complete menu. However, once I entered the front door, I knew I was in for a wonderful 'teatime experience' which I associate with great tea (of course), savory treats, warmth, coziness, nostalgia, friendship, civility, graciousness, ...all things good. I was right! I was in for a treat and so much more. Marian, the owner and creator of this wonderful tea parlour, hasn't overlooked any details. The ambience in the parlour transports one upon entering. Lovely furniture pieces, art on the walls featuring local artists, music, beautifully set tables all meld to enhance your teatime. The food is outstanding. (The quiche and scones are my favorite.) Since that first visit, I have been to Lady Bedford's several times. I go whenever I visit Pinehurst. Now, I go to Lady Bedford's not just for the taking of tea; I go for the tea, the food, and the company of friends.

Lady Bedford's is one of the areas newest treasures, adding to a Place historically steeped in culture. The Afternoon Tea, which was elegant, delicious, and graciously served, became even more entertaining with Helen Von Salzen's talk on Tea Traditions. Entertaining, relaxing, gracious, lovely, delicious, AND ...educational. What a fine way to continue worthy traditions for today's, and future, generation(s).

My husband and I visited Lady Bedford's on several occasions while visiting Pinehurst. While the setting was formal, the atmosphere was informal and extremely welcoming. The quiche was creamy and light and delicious. My husband and I loved the scones with the marvelous cream and preserves. The selection of loose teas was extensive and the ones we tasted were wonderful. We took home some of the Cream Earl Grey and the Mystique. Ann and Joan, as well as the other staff, made our visits a delightful experience. We look forward to making Lady Bedford's a regular stop when we visit Pinehurst.

If you haven't tried this tea room, you simply must! Every detail is exquisite. Beautiful decor, delicious sandwiches, salads, and soup, wonderful 3-tierd assortment for High Tea, an amazing assortment of teas, and such friendly staff. Even my husband loves to go there! I've taken my granddaughters, visiting friends, golf partners, etc. and the experience each time has been very, very nice. Hope you try it!

My husband and I have enjoyed afternoon tea all around the world including 5 star hotels and specialty tea rooms. This was easily one of our favorites! An absolute gem. We had the Lady Bedford's Afternoon Tea and there was far more food than we could eat in a sitting. The scones were perfect - crusty on the outside and warm and moist with exceptional flavor. No dry, tasteless scones here. The selection of tea sandwiches was wonderful and they easily accomodated my vegetarian needs. The addition of fresh fruit was a nice touch. Exceptional attention to detail for the table setting and the service was attentive but not intrusive. We loved it and can not wait to come back! Well worth the drive.

The food was delicious and the ladies who attended to us were lovely and gracious hostesses. The tearoom decor' was just perfect for celebrating any occasion. We expecially loved the teapots and the many choices of tea. I will definitely go back. Thank you for a lovely experience to remember. Janice Mann, Southern Pines

I had a delightful time at Lady Bedford's last Friday. Four of us were served lunch which included tea, soup, sandwiches and dessert. The lovely presentation of our food was served on beautiful china. We all agreed that everything was delicious. The atmosphere is everything you could want in a tea parlour. All of the staff is so pleasant and very accommodating. I highly recommend Lady Bedford’s and look forward to a return visit.

My first visit to Lady Bedford's was with my best friend for Friendship Day. How delightful to share high tea in a warm, cozy Victorian atmosphere, amid friendly, eager staff. We were provided with a three tier server of scones, fruits, petit fours, and scrumptious finger sandwiches that melted in our mouths. And the tea was smooth, fragrant and we chose from over 50 varieties. We could have stayed all day because it was a heavenly day. We truly loved it. A 'must do' experience, over and over again. The quaint house converted to a tea room serves a small clientle but the personalized service matches the delicious food. Award winning!

A special thanks to the owners and their identical twin helpers for a warm, intimate, charming, and friendly high tea to honor my godchild. The presentation was lovely with the fresh flowers and the seating arrangements with tables of 4 and 8 just perfect. The scones, fruit, sandwiches, etc were scrumptious and wonderfully fresh. Again the high tea was marvelous, and I appreciate all your efforts to make it special for the bride-to-be. I will definitely recommend your tea parlor at every opportunity.

I made a return visit to Lady Bedford's for lunch yesterday with friends. The ambiance is wonderful and just what one would expect from a Victorian tea parlor. The food was excellent, and the staff was very efficient and friendly. I'm not a tea drinker, but both times I got caught up in the atmosphere and ordered spiced teas. Both were very good.

I too travel and frequent many tea rooms through out the country and was very disappointed in this tea room. The atmosphere was very nice enough but the food selection on the afternoon tea tier was extremely poor. The scones were without taste and the dessert consisted of four petit fors that could have been purchased just about anywhere and a bowl of berries. Not very creative and not much variety for having a pastry chef on staff. We did not get a thanks or even asked by the hostess, who I assume was the owner, after we paid, if we enjoyed our lunch. It appeared that most of the people there were having the other menu options.

      Tearoom response:

Thank you for your comments on our dessert tray. Our pastry chef makes our dessert selections fresh daily and it is hard to anticipate how quickly they will disappear on any given day. We hope you will dine with us again, as our pastry chef prides himself on offering a delicious and tempting array of desserts. Marian Caso, Owner

My luncheon group had the pleasure of dining at Lady B's on opening day. I was prepared to be patient for frantic first day jitters. Au contraire! Every little attention to detail had been worked out & completed. Furnishings & accessories all in place. Service was friendly, yet meticulous. I enjoyed my grilled veggie wrap & friends raved on the chicken salad. Save room for the french silk chocolate cheesecake! What a great, soothing attraction in the Williamburg style village of Pinehurst for residents & tourists alike.
