I heard about this tea room through some customers walking through my store singing it's praises, so I decided to try it out for lunch. For $20 you get a plate with a main course, a side, and the most delicious currant scone I have ever had the pleasure of eating, along with a pot of a tea of your choice. On one side of the menu are the food options, and on the entire other side of the menu are the tea options. Every one I tried was a hit - they even have an adorable sugar cube collection. (On the table are regular sugar cubes with tiny tongs, but in the gift shop are designer sugar cubes!) The tea room is in a house as shown above, very adorable decorations and peaceful instrumental music playing throughout each room. The service is very classical and elegant, and the servers are also very polite and sweet. I came back with my boyfriend and even HE loved the whole experience! Ladies, take your friends, take your boyfriends, and if you bring someone who is visiting from out of town, I assure you they will leave with a pleasant and new experience. I apologize that I cannot remember the names of the teas, but there were a variety of fruit teas, black teas, green teas, herbal teas, and even a special Potted Geranium mix itself.

We traveled from Stone Mountain to The Potted Geranium for my mom's 95th birthday. It was quite chilly, and raining! And I would do it all over again. A beautiful setting, impeccable service, and delicious food. My mother said her tea choice, English Breakfast, was the best tea she has ever had. And my Jasmine was the most fragrant and flavorful Jasmine I have ever experienced. Then there's the food. From the soup, to quiche, to sandwiches, to scone, to the sweets, everything was perfect. I am looking forward to a warmer day, sitting on the huge back porch area.

Best Christmas present ever! My cousin and I have wanted to visit The Potted Geranium for a long time since it is ranked #1 in our state. We finally made it and were in no way disappointed. The house and grounds are beautiful....hope to visit again in the spring when everything is in bloom and we can take tea on the verandah. The food was outstanding as was the service. They were short staffed the day we were there but you would never have known based on the exceptional, friendly service. Had a fantastic time and will definitely visit again. I would recommend this tea house to anyone wanting to have a relaxing, graceful, old fashioned experience.

I have made finding tea rooms in the south a hobby, and by far Greensboro's Potted Geranium is the BEST. Every single detail is perfection, I left feeling exhilarated and grateful to my soul for finding it. Counting the days until I am experiencing all the treasures in tea at Potted Geranium. Simply divine....

This is a very special place. The warm atmosphere, hospitality, and decor are everything one would hope for when visiting for High Tea. The Victorian Tea, presented in the traditional three-tiered setting includes an extraordinary selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and small pastries. Nothing about the Potted Geranium is ordinary. A to-go box is likely to be asked for. Laura and her staff are happy to invite you to visit the rooms upstairs as well as the small gift shop. Each room is more lovely than the next. Obviously a labor of love on all levels.

We enjoyed the gracious hospitality, tasteful decor, and lovely table-settings. Many interesting tea choices were offered, and the tea was prepared well. Every finger sandwich and lovely pastry on the three-tiered tray was delectable. The scones were exceptionally fine. We went a little out of our way to get there, and it was well worth it!

It is definitely a special experience to go. While we had lunch today, on our first visit, we had the full tea experience which was very special.

I drove two hours to the Potted Geranium in Greensboro, GA. to meet my sister and her daughter for tea service. We've been to a few tea rooms, but our experience at Potted Geranium felt like our first true Tea Service experience! Everything was perfect. The tea room was like walking back in time. Everything was beautiful. The owner who greeted us and the person who served us tea were inviting, informative and incredibly friendly. The food was beyond! The asparagus quiche was the lightest and fluffiest I'd ever had. I experienced heavenly 'chilled strawberry soup' for the first time. And the assortment of scones, petit fours, and little sandwiches were the best I'd ever had. Finally, the tea was excellently brewed and presented to us in a beautiful tea service. I highly recommended The Potted Geranium. It is worth the drive!

I visited my friend in Evans and we drove the hour to get to the Potted Geranium. It was worth every minute and mile! The food was beautifully presented and was as delicious as it looked. The hostess gave us attention without interrupting our time together. As a tea lover, one who has visited many tearooms in several states, and author of a devotional on the subject of tea, this experience was tea-lightful and ranks among the best tea experiences I have had.

My daughters and I have been blessed to have 'tea time' all over the world. In May 2014, we reached tea utopia. The Potted Geranium offered the best presentation, quality, and artistry than most of the other 'best' tea houses we've visited. You will die for the chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches, and leap for joy after the freshly made scones with clotted cream and preserves. We left so full and deeply satisfied, and plan to bring our friends in for birthday tea, etc. The grounds offer an exquisite cottage garden with fresh herbs and beautiful peonys, that you aren't supposed to be able to grow in garden zone 8, even! Surely God has a Hand in this place.

Three teacher friends and I had tea at the Potted Geranium. It was just the kind of lovely, fun, relaxing, but not stuffy atmosphere we needed to end the school year. The tea and food were excellent. The surroundings inside and out also fed the senses. I highly recommend either lunch or the Duchess of Bedford Tea Service. This starts off with a wonderful salad or soup and quiche then followed with a multi tier service of finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts. All very fresh and flavorful.

All I can say is 'Perfection! Perfection! Perfection!' From the moment we pulled up to the property we were charmed by every aspect! I have been to quite a few tearooms in Georgia and this by far surpasses every one. The decor and table settings were absolutely beautiful. The tea was wonderful and refreshing. The food was delicious and perfectly presented. The ambience was calming and created a lovely relaxing environment - even with 11 'chattering' friends. Service was impeccable! Laura and Rebecca have created a little bit of heaven in this charming southern town! Plan to spend the day and enjoy the shops downtown afterwards. We all can't wait to go back.

My only regret is that I didn't go here as soon as it opened! I waited until friends made plans for us to go. Since my first trip I have taken every visitor who comes to town & have gone back with friends. My visitors say it is a favorite memory. They have a wonderful choice of teas, beautifully presented. As part of our trip to The Carolina's and Georgia, my husband and I traveled from Washington State to experience the joys of taking tea at The Potted Geramium. I had read about the tea house in Teatime Magazine shortly before leaving on vacation to the area. We adjusted previous plans to include The Potted Geranium. The miles traveled were well worth it because it was one of the most delightful experiences of our trip. The atmosphere was both inviting and calming with peaceful music playing softly in the background. We enjoyed The Dutchess of Bedford tea which was absolutely amazing from first bite to last. The Quiche melted in our mouths with our taste buds bursting with delicious flavors. The salad with fresh field greens, cranberries, pecans and goat cheese was refreshing and unbelievably wonderful! The selection of teas was very extensive and delightful. There were so many selections that it took time to narrow down our choices. Then to our utter delight, the three tiered server was brought to our table filled with an array of delicious finger sandwiches, the best currant scones, and utterly delightful desserts! This was a feast for our eyes as well as our taste buds. It is overwhelmingly obvious that the emphasis is on excellence at The Potted Geranium. It is a 'must see' if you are anywhere within driving (or flying) distance. This was a highlight of our trip and our heartfelt thanks to owner Laura Kanitra and executive chef Rebecca Wells! Your superb attention to each and every detail is greatly appreciated! Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Food preparation and presentation was impeccable and taste was scrumptious; quiche, salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and creme puff were among my favs. Beautifully decorated with an extremely calm, peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The owner is very cordial and treated us like royalty! Well worth the +90 minute trip. My cousins and I will definitely return! If you enjoy tea rooms, you must experience The Potted Geranium. You will not be disappointed.

On December 3rd I chose to celebrate my special occasion at the Potted Geranium with the ladies I hold near and dear to my heart, my mother, sister and best friend. The staff at the Potted Geranium made this a memorable celebration. My hosts and I had the Duchess of Bedford full afternoon tea service. We enjoyed the Georgia Peaches and Cream tea, Cochin Masala Chai, Hazelnut Vanilla tea, and the Strawberry Kiwi tea. Each teapot had an adorable cozy complimenting the eclectic mix of Victorian china surrounding the tiered server centerpiece. Our table was set with the proper accoutrements for this elegant tea. The quality of the food was matched by the quality of the service. The food was fresh, tasty and a feast for our eyes as well as our appetites. The staff was friendly and very hospitable. Each guest served themselves the dainty tea foods from the tiered tray, starting at the bottom eating the savories first, then the scones, and finally the desserts. We had a wonderful time eating the tea foods and sipping the hot teas. I purchased the house blend and Georgia Peaches & Cream loose teas from their gift shop so that we may enjoy the experience again at home. Although we couldn't duplicate the ambiance of the lovely Victorian tearoom we could enjoy the tea and memories.

The Potted Geranium was featured in Georgia's Lake Country flyer. A friend decided that we should treat another friend to a birthday lunch there. The best choice we could have ever made. The tea selection was beyond believe and served in beautiful pots. The décor was magnificent. It was a very calm setting that allowed you to relax and enjoy the food, friends, and atmosphere. We chose the tea, Peaches and Cream - Wonderful some of the best that I have ever had. The special of the day was salmon patties and spinach salad. The food and presentation was outstanding. And the dessert - melt in your mouth peach cobbler. The staff was kind enough to present our friend with a candle in her dessert as well as a Happy Birthday song. Even the chef came out to join - what a wonderful experience. Would recommend to everyone and we will certainly return again.

We were greeted with the smell of sweet mini Gardenias growing near the entry way. As always, the attention to detail (outdoors & in) made for another memorable experience. We adore the fine English china, linen napkins with detailed cutwork, delicious food, delicate treats, with incredible presentation surrounded by decor that never fails to entice and delight us, while making us feel just a tad bit British! My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at The Ritz Carlton to see family up at the lake. The Potted Geranium was highly recommended to her, so we decided to go for lunch on Saturday. I have to echo the comments of Michael below. I too am a single, unmarried guy and I am almost shocked about how much I enjoyed the whole experience. Obviously, as all the reviews on here clearly state, the house is amazing. No attention to detail has been spared and for a place with such historic value, it couldn't seem more fresh and clean. That all said, I really want to focus on the food. I'd always thought a scone was a dry, awful pastry that one feeds to their enemies when no gruel is available. The Potted Geranium changed all of that. They have these amazing, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, scones that completely floored me. The rest of the tea tray was equally tasty, but the scones are what I'll never forget. People should make the trip for these alone!

Full disclosure (for you guys who might be scoffing at a place like this or for you ladies who think you'll never be able to go unless you can get one of your girlfriends to go with you because you think your husband will NEVER go): I am a straight, married man in my 30s and I can honestly say that I LOVE this place. I do not feel out of place one bit here. Not only that, but I feel very welcomed and always want to come back as soon as I've left. This place is simply gorgeous! I've always loved the idea of a Victorian tearoom, and The Potted Geranium pulls it off flawlessly. There is none of that cheesiness you often find in other tearooms and restaurants that are trying to be something they're not. This place owns what they do. This place makes you feel like you're stepping back in time and I LOVE that. The service at the tearoom is your quintessential Southern hospitality. Very accommodating. We usually bring my mom's birthday presents out there with us and the ladies always welcome us to open them there. Their food is top, top notch from flavor to textures to presentation. I like to eat at a lot of nice restaurants (The Ritz-Carlton Lodge off the same exit is one of my frequent stops) and find that the more nice restaurants I eat at, the higher my standards get. That being said, The Potted Geranium is up there with the best. As a matter of fact, the chef/pastry chef (she does it all!) is a former chef from The Ritz-Carlton Lodge - not a surprise once you experience their food. Oh, and by the way, no matter what you have, make darn sure you have some of their Devonshire cream. It is simply ethereal. The decor is spot on. Nothing is cheesy. It is a classy, southern home that is authentic down to the smallest detail. Make sure to get up and walk around to see all of the rooms, both upstairs and downstairs, in this beautiful house. The Potted Geranium is one of the highest rated tea rooms in the entire country. If you're ever in the area (or even in Atlanta), do yourself a BIG favor and go! It is more than worth the drive.

A few days ago, Friday, I went with 8 of my girlfriends to enjoy this tearoom. It was fabulous and we were treated like royalty. 6 of us had The Duchess of Bedford and the other 3 showed restraint and ordered a light lunch and dessert. We spent 2 hours eating, drinking and socializing. It was such a special time for us all and our server was top notch. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a long leisurely lunch at this gorgeous home, the finest tearoom I've ever visited. You will leave so much happier and feeling completely revitalized.

Last week my husband and I had the loveliest dining experience since coming to the Reynolds Plantation area six years ago. From the moment you walk into the beautifully renovated mansion and are greeted by the gracious owner you know you are in for special experience. It is truly a step back in time to the Victorian age. We see why this is considered one of the top tea rooms in the country. The ambiance is one of quiet elegance - no cell phones please. We ordered the Duchess high tea which consisted of Quiche and Soup or Salad; a full compliment of tea sandwiches (all made fresh on the premises) delicious scones which were some of the best we ever had: and delightful mini deserts. Our apricot tea was presented piping hot in a delightful tea pot and cozy. Everything was served on exquisite china. Our server was a delightful young woman with a lovely Russian accent that only added to the atmosphere. Other light fare is available if you so desire. It was so nice to have beautiful soft music in the background. Be sure to visit the lovely gift shop before leaving where you can purchase teas that they serve in the tearoom as well as many other delightful items. We certainly give it five stars and more if they were available. We can't wait to return and we encourage anyone who is looking for a unique and delightful dining experience to try it.

I first heard about The Potted Geranium when a cousin returned to Washington State singing the praises of your tea room after visiting relatives in the Athens area. When we decided to travel to Georgia to visit the same relatives I knew that our trip would not be complete without a stop at The Potted Geranium. I was certainly not disappointed when I was able to experience for myself your gracious hospitality, your abundant selection of teas, your delicious high tea offerings and your artistry in presentation. Your staff was excellent in assuring that our time in The Potted Geranium was comfortable, elegant, and memorable. One does not often have the opportunity to dine on Prince Albert china or tea tables as elegantly dressed as you will find at the lovely tea house. After tea we enjoyed walking through the rest of the house, admiring the beauty of each room. What a treat!

The first time I visited this tea room I knew it would not be the last. I spoke with Laura, the owner, and made reservations for my Red Hat Chapter to celebrate our 8th anniversary here. Fifteen of us did so, this past Saturday. This tea room is the epitome of southern grace and elegance. I have traveled all over the south visiting tea rooms since my mother, grandmother and aunts started teaching me all about 'tea parties', as a very young child. Now, many years later I must say this is the absolute BEST tea room I've ever been to. The tea selection, the food, the presentation, the decor, the gardens, the gift shop, the STAFF, the ambiance, etc., etc. is nothing more than perfection. It is definitely worth the drive to Greensboro, from wherever you are. Laura, THANK YOU & your staff for a remarkable experience!!!

I have visit this tea room three times. Each time I have been more than satisfied with the wonderful presentation of glorious teas. We have tried nearly all the tea flavors, and love the potted geranium blend, apricot, peaches and cream, earl gray, and more. I can't name them all. The luncheon menu is varied and everyone enjoyed their selections. This tea room does not present the traditional high tea. If you want the traditional tea service, you must order it 24 hours in advance, and that is a bit pricey. Dessert is not included with the meal, so you will need to order it separately. We will be back, but I do wish we could have the traditional tea for a more reasonable price

My wife and I have had tea in many places and all too often the experience is disappointing because of the many shortcuts taken. Not so at the Potted Geranium. The teapots are cozied thus keeping the tea hot. The delicious food is prepared by their in-house chef. Bravo! You will almost certainly be sent home with leftovers as eating all that they serve is a real challenge. Loved the ambiance of the lovingly restored old home. I recently visited the Potted Geranium again. I have lost track of how many times I have been to this tea room. The service, food and ambiance have been excellent every time. I have never been disappointed. This tea room truly deserves its TeaMap ranking as the number 1 tea room in Georgia. The owner has gone to great lengths to make sure that her customers have a true tea room experience and it shows. For me the Potted Geranium is the gold standard by which I judge all other tea rooms and venues that provide a tea service. I have not found another tea room that is as good as the Potted Geranium. I visited this tea room over the weekend with family and friends, and we had a wonderful experience here. I was thrilled to find a tea room that actually offers a traditional tea experience. The setting (an 1840's home) was beautiful. They had a nice selection of teas (blacks, greens, white, and herbals). The food was absolutely delicious; there wasn't a single thing on the three-tiered tray of goodies that was anything less than outstanding, and the portion sizes were very generous. The bottom tier had a variety of finger sandwiches--five per person, the middle tier had currant scones that were so light and flakey (2 per person), and the top tier had a variety of pastries and goodies that were delectable. They were served with devonshire cream and jam. Each person got a full pot of the tea of their choice, which made it easy to share teas with everyone at the table and try different varieties. I also liked that they offer cocktails like wine, mimosas, and bellinis, for those of us who wanted a little something-something with our tea. The china cups and saucers were beautiful. It was a fantastic tea experience and we are looking forward to returning.

A surprise lunch for my wife on our anniversary during our stay nearby at the Ritz Carlton, Reynolds Plantation. The experience was so enjoyable and the food and service was very excellent. The interior of the home was complete in every detail. My first visit to a tea room however my wife has visited many in the Franklin/Nashville, Tennessee area and she said she had never had this kind of experience nor seen such attention to detial both in the food and tea presentation and the interior of the home. I am a real nut about detail when it comes to construction and caring for a home and I have to say I was more than impressed. Pride of ownerhsip was evident everywhere. The food is all prepared inhouse and only high end teas are served. I am not a hot tea drinker however I ordered the Apricot Tea (a tea selection is included with the meal) and I almost drank the whole pot. My wife and I ordered the Chicken Salad on Mini Crosiant's. I had a Garden Salad with mine, she had a cup of Cream of Mushroom soup. We enjoyed every bite. I would highly recommend 'The Potted Geranium' and I highly recommend taking a tour of the home before you leave. It is just beautiful. Definately a work of love and pride of ownership. Oh, and my wife is telling all her friends about how happy she was and surprised I reserved lunch for us at this tea room and she plans to go back (about 3.5 hrs from our home in Alabama) with her two sisters on a little get away trip together. Just don't tell my hunting buddies I was there and really enjoyed a tea room! lol

I along with five others celebrated a birthday at The Potted Geranium on January 4. We enjoyed The Duchess of Bedford (full afternoon tea service). What we were served is exactly what I visualize an afternoon tea should be and more. I picture a tiered tray with scones, small 'tea' sandwiches and a sampling of small sweets. We were served that plus quiche and a choice of salad or soup of the day. Often times a business does not come through with what is displayed on their website, but The Potted Geranium delivers what it advertises on theirs. It was by far the best 'tea' experience I have ever had.

My sister and I celebrated our January birthdays with a delightful lunch at The Potted Geranium, in Greensboro, Ga. From an offering of 13 black teas, two green, one white, four herbal and one organic, she selected Orange Spice, and I had The Potted Geranium Blend, featuring a combination of vanilla and grenadine—with each of us served our own pot in its own cozy. Enjoying plenty of time for conversation, we eventually ordered unhurriedly: she had the 'Charleston,' quiche with a delicious, thick mushroom soup and a currant scone with jam and clotted cream; I had the 'Queen Mary,' breast-of-turkey salad with a Tuscan green salad (pine nuts, prosciutto, artichoke hearts, etc.) and currant scone. Her desert was a cream tart; mine was a cherry shortcake with a dollop of ice cream. Everything was made from scratch and so delicious that we ate as slowly as possible to make it last. All of this was enjoyed in elegant surroundings in a beautifully restored old home. For what we got and how much we enjoyed it, the price was quite reasonable. The Potted Geranium is a special place well worth a day trip, situated in beautiful old Greensboro, Georgia just on the edge of downtown.

There were 3 in our party; each having a different pot of tea. Each pot came in a tea cozy, all ready brewed, so cannot say if tea was whole leave or bags. Beautiful restored Victorian home from the 1840s. Each room a different color with appropriate tea service. Service was excellent; warm, calm, friendly. Two of us had the Duchess of Bedford (full tea) and the other in our party had the Victorian Lady. The Duchess came with quiche of the day (which was Swiss and mushroom; served piping hot; crust was divine; lots of mushrooms imparted a very pleasant earthy flavor). A variety of lovely finger sandwiches. And the scones...a bit different than an English scone...a tad sweeter with a wonderful crunchy bottom. We were told the chef was looking for a cross between a traditional scone and a Southern biscuit; she succeeded! I'd love to go back.

My family and I felt right at home because of the wonderful staff and the lovely atmosphere. I am so thankful that I decided to have our wedding there. I could not have asked for anything more. I can't wait to go back for a date with my husband.

Just had lunch at the Potted Geranium with my Mom. She loved it. Great variety of teas served in lovely pots. All of the lunch choices are wonderful. The deserts are home made and delicious. Their scones are to die for! Presentation and service are great. Love the old china and tea cups. Piano music in the background adds a nice touch too. The decor and gardens of this lovely restored home bring you back in time. If you are in the area, don't miss a stop here for lunch or tea.

I first discovered this place in February and I've been 3 times so far. It has wonderful teas and the food is exceptional. My personal favorite is the chicken salad. The ambiance and the service are both top notch. This is worth a trip out of the way to reach this jewel.

I recently had tea at The Potted Geranium with my mom and sister for my mom's birthday. It was an amazing experience! The house is beautiful and the service was excellent! It is by far the best tea I have had and the food was super super delicious. If you enjoy tea, put this on your list of places to visit. You will NOT be disappointed!

My two daughters 'surprised' me with a trip for my 62nd birthday. Our first stop was The Potted Geranium. WOW, it was wonderful. We each had our own pot of the most wonderful, top quality loose leaf tea. It warmed our heart as well as our body and prepared us for all the food that was prepared with expertise and skill. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and a perfect place to spend time with my daughters.

The Potted Geranium is truly a delightful place. It certainly deserves the title of Georgia's number one tearoom. The decor is charming. It is like stepping into a lovely English cottage for tea. As for the food--the word is PERFECT. From the artistry shown in the sandwiches to the final touch of cookies in the shape of a teapot, everything was delicious. The tea was right on. The service and warmth my daughter and I experienced from the staff made the whole experience even better. They strive to make everything just right and they succeed. Bette 12/11/2010

My boyfriend drove me from Atlanta to The Potted Geranium in Greensboro today for my birthday. I have visited many tea parlors in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas...any time I travel I scout out local tea service. The Potted Geranium is the absolute best I've had anywhere. I even spent a semester abroad in London, and The Potted Geranium outshines both the tea service in the city and that in the English countryside. Their attention to detail is unmatched--everything from perfectly flaky quiche crust to immaculately decorated tables. It's also in a great location for perusing local antique shops by foot and enjoying the beautiful landscaping surrounding the tea parlor. This is my new favorite tea parlor and I can't wait to go back!

Recently, I was treated to an afternoon of pure delight at The Potted Geranium. This historic house is beautifully refurbished and the appointments are out of this world. The warm reception I received from everyone there made me feel like family. I had a hard time selecting a tea from the large assortment; however, I was delighted as the Cochin Masala Chai I selected was brewed perfectly. My food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented on exquisite china; the three-tier tray of luscious treats finished my experience off brilliantly. I have had the pleasure of having tea all over the world; however, this experience will stay in my mind forever. Jane V. Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Every room was beautifully decorated (including the powder room), the food was delicious, and every one was so friendly -- even the chef came out to sing 'Happy Birthday'! Two friends and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Potted Geranium on Wednesday. It was a perfect lunch, what more could anyone want. Tasty food, tastfully served, I might add. And in an atmosphere of genteel graciousness. Every detail was perfect. Then we were escorted throughout the beautiful house, which was a bonus we didn't expect. It was evident that every detail had been carefully planned. The gardens were given as much attention as the house. It was an afternoon to remember.

My review is solely based on the Duchess of Bedford afternoon tea. My mother had the chicken salad (The Magnolia) and liked her meal, but I felt the afternoon tea was overpriced for what you are served and the tea sandwiches were not good. I have a tea business near Athens and have been to several tea parlors and had tea in England, so I know what afternoon tea is and what it costs. The good: the scones were excellent, moist enough without being crumbly and just the right sweetness. The salad was good. The building is beautiful, but I thought it lacked atmosphere. The china is nice, as is the table setting. I didn't feel warm and welcomed, maybe because we had a child with us and I got the idea they don't like kids, even though afternoon tea is old hat for my daughter. Our server was very pleasant and personable. The bad: The quiche was loaded with onions, as was the ham and swiss sandwich, the chicken salad sandwich (that had a bizarre flavor that I couldn't identify and also gave the chicken salad a yellowish tint. The finger sandwich chicken salad was not the same as the menu chicken salad). Everything had such a strong onion flavor that I couldn't eat it. If you love onions, you might like it, but I have never had so many onions in tea foods at any other place before. The chilled mango soup was okay, but after a few bites it tasted like a slightly bitter Orange Julius. The tea selection is average. I had the rose tea and felt the rose flavoring was a little too strong, but that is a matter of preference. You are given a pot of tea with a cozy. There is no presentation of the tea or the tea foods. Usually, you get a brief description of what you are being served. The tea foods look appealing, the open face sandwiches are pretty and the sweets look cute, especially the tea pot cookie with a heart cut out, but I felt the flavors on the quiche and sandwiches left something to be desired. The owner is not as pleasant as her staff and a little authoritarian with her phone rules. I don't have a problem with no phones allowed, but I thought it could be broached a little more politely (I wasn't on my phone when I came in). It felt like you were being greeted by Marian the Librarian. I think the Duchess of Bedford should be priced at $25 and the The Victorian Lady at $20. I also though $16 was a bit pricey for the light lunches. I think $13 to $14 is a fairer price. I had really looked forward to having tea there and we drove 50 miles just to eat there, but the unwelcoming atmosphere and not enjoying my food made me regret going there instead of another tea house. I won't be returning.

The Potted Geranium is a rare find in today's world. To start with, the staff is welcoming, courteous and kind. Pair the service with the truly beautiful surroundings might be enough to make your day, but the experience does not stop there. The Chef is true culinary artist and certainly her food testifies of her skill. The Potted Geranium serves a truly outstanding tea service, but they also offer wonderful lunch choices and can easily accommodate groups. (We have been there when there were parties in other rooms and noticed absolutely no impact in service to our small party of two.) The teas are excellent and varied. We try one new flavor each time and are always pleased with our choice. Our favorites so far include The Potted Geranium Blend, Georgia Peaches and Cream, French Caramel, and Rooibos Provence. We travel 100 miles from South Carolina to visit The Potted Geranium and always leave refreshed and cherished. Each visit is better than the last and we always spend part of the trip home planning the next!

We just returned home from a wonderful afternoon at the Potted Geranium. My husband and I were on a one night getaway for the first time in 16 months without any children. And we have FOUR little boys so believe me this was an absolute treat. We ended our special getaway with lovely tea and dessert at the most beautiful tea room. The desserts were delectable and the service impecable! The ladies were incredibly police and charming. The owners husband made a stop in the restarant and was so kind and came around and spoke to everyone in the room. At the end we got a tour of the entire home and it was gorgeous. We can't wait to go back again! If you need some peace, quiet, to be rejuvenated, to step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and go back in time you should visit this tea room!

What a perfect place... The attention to detail - from the room design to the color selection to the actual tea service and food - was delightful. I had the Georgia Peaches & Cream tea, and bought some to take home. I've already had several cups :-) The scones were flaky and sugary without being over-powering. The sandwich presentation was spot-on, and every sandwich tasted great. I especially liked the chicken salad - the peach chutney was just the right touch. Definitely worth the drive from Atlanta. I plan to take my family of aunts on their next visit.

Upon entering the Potted Geranium, you quickly realize you are in another world! It is filled with wonderful food, and gracious employees. The owner obviously wants to create an atmosphere where people can feel relaxed and away from today's cell phones, loud noises and even crying babies. Although our server was very nice, one of the female employees was not. We were there at 11:30 and the only party in a room. My cell phone rang. I did not answer it, only looked to see who was calling (I left workmen alone at my house and gave them my # in case of an emergency). This woman rounds the corner and, very rudely, TOLD me to either turn my cell phone off or put it on vibrate that it was disturbing the other guests. I did not mind complying, just could not believe how abrupt and rude she was. I will NEVER return to this establishment! In addition, the portions were small and the meal overpriced.

Walking up the sidewalk, I was overwhelmed by the sight of this restaurant! Several of my friends and family went to the potted geranium for brunch, and when we walked in the door we were overwhelmed by what beautiful restaurant this is! Every detail carefully attended to, with the breath taking décor that instantly takes you back to a slower pace in time. From the minute we entered we were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty! The food was exquisite, exceptionally fresh and almost too pretty to eat! I must recommend that everyone try the chilled peach soup - I have never had anything like it!!!!!!!! They also served our food on the most fine and delicate porcelain china – the tea cups were paper thin! This tea room is worth a trip from Atlanta! The Potted Geranium is simply the best tea room I have ever been to. My female in-laws and I love to try Southern tea rooms but none have compared to this outstanding place. From the moment the big yellow house comes into view, you know you are in for something special, and the owner and staff do not disappoint. Each room has a beautiful color theme and there is a gift shop with all kinds of elegant goodies. The tea ranges from delicious familiars like Earl Grey to The Potted Geranium’s yummy custom blend. And—oh my goodness – the food is fabulous! Generally at tea rooms I’ve been to the salad and scones are good but the rest falls short—especially sandwiches. Everything here was amazing—I’m still dreaming about the quiche and the chocolate-apricot petit fours! I enjoyed my first Potted Geranium tea service while attending a friend’s beautiful wedding shower but with the easy hour-drive from Atlanta, I hope to soon be back with my tea-house-loving in-laws and friends!

My friend, Glenna and I go antiquing once a month in the middle Georgia area. We always look for a tearoom for lunch, and since we've been doing this for a couple of years, we have visited all the tearooms we can find in this area. The Potted Geranium is by far the very best! It is exquisite in every way. It was a most enjoyable experience!

I brought my 2 favorite cousins to The Potted Geranium this past Saturday to celebrate their birthdays. And how lovely it was! Our lunch was perfect, presented beautifully and very tasty. We each had a different tea and argued that our personal selections were the best, but honestly, they each were wonderful (Blueberry, Orange Spice and The Potted Geranium Signature Blend). All of the above was fantastic, but I think what impressed me the most was how welcoming and gracious the staff was to us. I felt right at home, very pampered and did not want to leave. I can't wait for my next visit and will happily drive from Atlanta to Greensboro to visit again!

Put this one on your list of MUST visit teahouses. I recently had the pleasure of introducing my 3 nieces to this fabulous establishment. The atmosphere was relaxed, calming and friendly. The tea choices were vast and the staff very knowledgeable about the differences. The setting is a beautifully restored Victorian home with each of the 6 rooms painted and decorated in playful pastel colors. The food was AMAZING, as we each enjoyed one of the luncheon specials. The scones are the best in the world and not to be missed is the tiered tray of scones and pastries. I can't wait to introduce more of my family to this wonderful oasis in Greensboro, Georgia.

As the owner of the Franklin Village Tea Room in Franklin, Michigan, I must write that The Potted Geranium is probably one of the finest Tea Houses in North America! Everything, from the decor to the quiche, to the scones to the pastries, were devine! This is a must see for anyone within a 100 mile radius of the lovely town of Greensboro, where country charm mixed with Victorian elegance, abounds!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at The Potted Geranium. I knew I was in for a delightful experience when I pulled up in front of the lovely Victorian house. The owner has done a tremendous job restoring the house to its original beauty. The inside is breathtaking and as I was led to my table I had the opportunity to peek in the various rooms. Each room is more spectacular than the last. The colors are warm and inviting and the decor is authentically Victorian and quite charming. But my experience was just beginning. I enjoyed an amazing quiche and salad followed by a tiered tray of the most incredible scones and pastries that I have ever tasted. The staff is friendly and the service impeccable. I certainly look forward to returning soon to The Potted Geranium.

The Potted Geranium is an excellent place to enjoy lunch and tea or just tea. The presentation is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service is impeccable. It is worth the drive no matter where you are coming from. The owners make every effort to make sure your visit is memorable.

My fiancée took me to The Potted Geranium recently. Being a guy, I was a little concerned a tea parlor would be too feminine. All I can say is I want to go back. It was elegant and intimate yet comfortable and just so relaxing. The attention to detail that went into this place is noticeable everywhere. The owners have created an atmosphere where it seems like you are dinning at a friend’s beautiful historic home. The servers made us feel like family and the three tier tray I had was unbelievable. Every room is different with custom fireplaces and chandeliers. Get the owner to take you on a tour though the whole house including the upstairs. There is simply nothing like The Potted Geranium anywhere.

I've had the pleasure of dining at The Potted Geranium 3 times within the past month with my mom. They have a wide variety of tea (my personal favorites are the Blueberry, which is a black tea, and the Strawberry, which is a green tea) that are always satisfying no matter if you choose a black, white, or green tea. The teapots have a cover on them so that the tea keeps hot and so you don't burn your knuckles whilst pouring. The staff is very friendly and full of good cheer, which is a hard thing not to come by in such a wonderful place. I have yet to consume anything from The Potted Geranium that was displeasing because their chef takes a great deal of time with quality and presentation. Each room in the house is gorgeous and you can tell that a lot of time and effort went into making this tea room what it is. The Potted Geranium is situated in the most beautiful house and the grounds are gorgeous. After me and my mom have dined, we like to take a tour about the garden because it is so peaceful and beautiful. I would most DEFINITELY try this tea room out not only because of the above but also because the wait time was not too short that company would be cut short but not too long that you would start getting impatient. The gift shop is also really cute and has everything from jewelry to cards with tea bags to their own teas to tea accessories. This place is perfect.

I would most definetly recomend the Potted Geranium. When I went their with my friend and her family we were truly impressed with the service quality. The waitress was very patient with us and listened to what we had to say throughout the whole meal and she was cheerful the whole time she served us. They had a large variety of choices when it came to tea and if you are not in any intrest of tea they also have wonderful lemonade and ice tea.I was also very saticfied with the tea preperation and the exterior and interior of the home.I could tell that they put alot of time effort and money into the home to make it look as nice as possible for the guests. When I was their I really felt like I was a Queen. Everyone their was so nice to us and only gave us the very best. I truly had a wonderful time and I would definetly come back again.

I had a great time during my visit to The Potted Geranium. I am not a Tearoom regular, but after my visit to this shop I have found myself searching for more cute, delicious tearooms to go visit. All of the rooms are elegantly designed down to every last detail. The food was wonderful as was every tea that I sampled. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend a visit to The Potted Geranium.

My daughter and I visited today and had a wonderful, relaxing, and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this tearoom to everyone that has not tried it. I had the #1 tearoom in Georgia on teamap for over 2 1/2 years, so until I can reopen at a later date, this will be my new favorite spot to dine and take friends and family. The house and surrounding gardens are so much more beautiful than the picture, it is stunning. Good Luck to you all, you have done an outstanding job!!!!

On May 31st, Sandra and I had a beautiful experience at the loveliest TEA ROOM that we've ever encountered. The hospitality was superb! The presentation of food items and teas were outstanding! Thank you so much for a fun day and, we'll be coming back soon.

This tearoom is superlative. The Victorian house and gardens are impeccable down to the littlest detail. The food is full of the little touches that make it outstanding. The currant scones are perfect, not soft and chewly but fine and slightly crumbly like they should be. The teas are whole leaf with a nice assortment although some additional green and white varieties would be nice. The servers are very pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. All in all, a fantastic experience.

Surrounded by beautiful azaleas, rhododendrons, and dogwoods, The Potted Geranium is a Victorian delight to behold. The interior was equally pleasing - lovely rooms, beautiful furniture, and lovely china patterns. The signature chicken salad featured grapes and pecans - light and delicious. The orange spice tea was a perfect complement to the meal. The staff was friendly and the service was superb. My visit was a birthday gift from my cousin - what a beautiful way to enjoy the day.

The owners have restored this house to Victorian opulance. The quiche and salad were excellent and of course the tea items were yummy: the scones are to die for! An absolutely delightful experience. The attention to detail from the furnishings to the food and the service is outstanding. It brought back sweet memories of my life in Canada with the beautiful china and the variety of fresh tea sandwiches and sweets that were known as 'dainties!'

The service and friendliness was wonderfully welcoming. The decorating was cheerful and enchanting. The flavor of the 1830 house was captured nicely with the differently colored rooms that had appropriate period furniture. The outside landscaping was nicely done and beckoning. It was a most favorable experience for me. I was with friends and we had a delightful time and enjoyed the wonderful tea and food. I had the apricot tea and a croissant with black forest ham, green apple slices and brie cheese. I also had a wonderful soup with it. The server was in a cute black dress with a ruffly white bibbed apron. She was sweet and attentive.

One word describes The Potted Geranium: 'Perfect.' This newly renovated historic house looks like the home of someone who pays close attention to details. That attention to detail carries over to the reception, the decor, and the fine tea and food. In addition to a croissant sandwich of Black Forest ham, every bit as good as Europe, the Irish breakfast tea was bold and tasty. The decor is flawless and inviting. But best of all, the owner and the server were flawless in their friendliness and presentation. This perfect place is worth traveling for. My advice to the owners is don't change a thing.

PERFECTION! I didn't think perfection existed on this earth until I visited this exceptional tea room. The owners were charming and gracious, the building and rooms are outstandingly beautiful, and the food was far superior to anything I have ever had at any tea room, and I have been to many a tea room while traveling extensively in both the US and Europe. The chef here was previously the pastry chef at a Ritz, and the food shows it - and is even better than the teas I have had at 5 different Ritz Carlton's. They experimented for months trying to come up with the perfect scone, and they were successful. Drive, fly, take the train, whatever you need to do to get here, because as far as tea rooms are concerned, the Potted Geranium is Mecca.

This is mine and my mother's new favorite lunch spot! The food was wonderful (ham, brie, and granny smith on croissant esp. delicious); the tea was delightful; atmosphere is just right (the blue room is my favorite); the desserts were just perfect, not too heavy and sweet, a perfect accompaniment to tea.
