I a pretty sure that this tea house closed last summer. I had my daughter's shower there an Julia said it was her last event. That was in August. She did a wonderful job. Sorry to see it close.

I just had my 50th birthday Tea at the Stone House Mansion. The atmosphere, ambiance, food, tea, and the OUTSTANDING hospitality was such a delight for me and 15 of my closest friends who came from near Baltimore to far New Jersey to share this special day with me. Many thanks to Miss Julia and her nephew Matthew who made sure to let us know he made a special salad just for the occasion. The place is very inviting and welcoming. I AM recommending it to all my friends. Thank you Miss Julia and God Bless You!

I absolutely love Tea by Julia Faye! The Stone Mansion that it's located in adds a nice 'old time' feel to the experience. Her tea selection is fabulous along with the plethora of food you receive for high tea. Julia is a doll herself and greets you with a smile and hug when you walk in the door. Such a lovely place to spend the morning or afternoon. I highly recommend it!

I was very excited to check this tea room out. It looks beautiful and promising on the outside, but unfortunately, I found it to be a little crowded inside. My friend and I were seated next to a couple and it felt like we were sitting at the same table. The server was dressed in sweat pants and complaining the entire time about how she was not supposed to be there that day, and she had other things to do. The whole room smelled like mayo. I guess they left the kitchen door open. Overall, I found it to be too expensive for what you're getting and over all disappointing. I suggest that those who have not been to any other tea room try some other ones. I'm sure that you'll be pleasantly surprised to find something better.

      Tearoom response:

The tea was the best I ever had!! The soup was amazing, loved the salad... I love the creative sandwiches, the dessert.... can you tell I love EVERYTHING? I cannot wait to come back!! I have experienced a variety of tea rooms in the PA, NJ, MD and DC areas and am knowledgeable about the art of taking tea. My friend and I visited this tea room this past weekend and although the food was good, the tea preparation was sub-par. I watched as the tea was brewed. The server did not use a timer, and the tea was left to sit for too long. This ended up in our tea being tepid when first poured and with a sharp bitter finish which is what happens when the tea leaves are not removed promptly. There were only 4 tables in the entire place so busyness was not the issue. We were there from 2 pm until 3:38; at that time our cash tip was swiped away from the table and we were bid goodbye. We felt rushed. Sadly, I can't give this tea room a higher rating, and I do hope that tea preparation improves.

      Tearoom response:

Ms. Carolyn, I am delighted that your food was good! Sad that you did not enjoy drinking your tea. I apologize that I was away on that day and could not personally wait on you and your guest, I also apologize for my waitress 'rushing' you.<BR> I thank you for your review, Julia

My cousin and I visited this tearoom today and had a wonderful time. It is small and intimate and had every touch of a cozy tea room. The food was excellent and I loved our tea selection which was the chai. The staff was cheerful, polite and friendly. We were in Maryland in October visiting family and friends. We were looking to visit a tea room since we've never been to one. We've looked at different reviews to decide which one to visit. Tea by Julia Faye was a last minute decision that we've made while driving in our car. It was the best decision that we've made. One of the main reasons that we picked this place was that it was child friendly. I wanted my 10 month old daughter to have this tea experience with me. Many other tea rooms don't allow children under 10. Julia was very accommodating. She got my daughter a high chair. She made a little mess, but we had a good time. The tea selection was good. The room was small and cozy. The food was excellent. My husband loved the hats. Unfortunately, we live in Hawaii, so we won't be back there anytime soon.

I had my first high tea in MD with my BFF today and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is relaxing, it wasn't too loud and the background music blended right in with the place. At first I was suprised by how small the shop is but it was just enough for everyone to mingle with each other and feel at home. Julia, the shop owner, runs the place herself yet she was still able to attend to everyone and personally walk each one of us out. The tea was great and so was the food. We walked out stuffed and happy. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

I visited Tea by Julia Faye for the second time yesterday, along with two companions, and this visit confirmed what I remembered from my first visit -- this is hands down, THE BEST TEA ROOM I have been to. A friend and I have visited at least one or 2 tea rooms per month, in MD, PA, VA, WV, and DE over the past 5 years, and I have personally visited tea rooms as far away as MA, NY and England, so saying this is my favorite is saying a lot. There are many wonderful tea rooms in the area, and at this point I have been to most at least once, but this one stands out because of excellence in a number of areas. First, the food is fabulous; freshly made and assembled while you are there; the amount of food for the price and quality is equally amazing. Julia's attention to detail makes even the ordinary seem special; for example, a pitcher of ice water with fresh sliced cucumber - you would not believe how good it tastes. The tea room is tucked in a quiet but lovely neighborhood in Baltimore, in the rear of an old Mansion and adjacent to garden for public viewing. The Tea Room is small, but bright, airy and very elegantly appointed. You feel refreshed and relaxed just walking in. Another selling point is the hospitality of the hostess; she is friendly, informative and fusses over you (in a very pleasant way) throughout your visit. There is no hustle and bustle here; in a prior visit she was assisted by her brother, who was equally hospitable and engaging. If you enjoy tea rooms, you must visit this place and I am certain you will share my enthusiasm. A few of my favorites from yesterday's visit were the cheese biscuit; broccoli cheese soup, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, mini sweet potato pie and mini cheese cake; I did not come across a single item that either disappointed me or struck me as ordinary. Visit soon!!

Seven of us enjoyed tea at JuliaFayes recently. It was lovely. Julia Faye is an excellent and friendly hostess. The food was wonderful and a nice variety. My favorite, of course, was the cheese biscuit. I would rate the tea room as excellent. The only suggestion that I would give is to have the teapots on warmers or use a teacozy. I tip my teacup to you JuliaFaye for a giving us a lovely afternoon to enjoy our friendship.

I was compel to leave this review due to the loving care and time that Julie Faye made especially for me and my 4 sisters and my daughter for our 2nd annual Sisters Reunion this April 2011. The place itself was lovely in a Victorian flair setting. The decorations and atmosphere along took us all back to a time of peaceful serenity and gave us a chance to pretend in having tea in time time era. All the tea sets and plating, napkins, sandwich, scones, dessert holders was equally beautiful as the table and chair setting. The tea filters and its own little own bowls to sit in, the hats and tea gifts, cards and teapot sets was a addition plus. Everything was something to remember, but the must memorable treats we ate was cheese biscuits, blueberry scones and my o my that broccoli soup have me wanting to come back for more. Oh my goodness I forgot the sandwiches and desserts!!! We ate cucumber sandwiches and croissants with chicken salad and the specially the full of raisin bread with lettuce and smoked turkey. The dessert was also memorable mini deep dark chocolate cupcakes, cheesecakes squares, and sweet potatoes tarts. All in all we have a lovely time, and to also have a chance to see her parents in an old nostalgic picture helped her place to feel the shared in their lovely daughter tea palace was also sweet addition. My family felt the family vibe and share each flavorful pot of tea was special to me. Julie also share where we was sitting in her tea-house was right in front of the 'Underground Railroad' which made the visit even more exciting for me and my family as well. Harriet Tubman is one of my favorite female historians. I will be back again Julia with some other special friends also known as my adoptive family.(smiles) see you soon in near future. THANKS from the BARBER!! for a wonderful experience.

What a gem! This tearoom goes to the top of our list. The setting is in the kitchen of an historic mansion. The room is very pretty and cozy. The owner greeted us warmly, and said at the start that we should take our time and relax. We ordered the High Tea, which comes with soup (Cream of Chicken Noodle-absolutely perfect!) and salad. Our 3 tiers of courses included two blueberry scones and cheese biscuit each, still warm from the oven. Sandwiches were a delicious chicken salad on a croissant, turkey on raisin bread with a cranberry spread, and cucumber with cream cheese on a bagette slice. All excellent! The sweets included a cute and tasty mini red velvet cupcake, a raspberry cheescake square and a fantastic sweet potato tart. Besides wonderful food, I think this tearoom stands out because of the attention to detail. You can tell that the owner utilizes her treasures. When asked for water we were given a glass pitcher of ice water containing a few slices of cucumber, poured into cut glass punch bowl cups. Clever and refreshing! The tearoom offers a nice selection of items to buy, including the best Earl Grey loose tea. In all ways, this is a delightful place to enjoy. And deserving of repeat business!

The cucumber sandwiches were amazing and the scones (right from the oven),the best yet. The pride that has been taken to create each and every aspect of this special teahouse is extraodinary. Absolutely will be returning...

This is a very charming tearoom. The tea was delicious and the service was wonderful. The tea was perfectly brewed. I absolutely loved the scones.

I was thrilled that a tea room had opened in my neighborhood, and my first time there today justified that excitement. It's a lovely place, with a thoughtful selection of teas beautifully brewed. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the owner is very pleasant and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time and will return soon!

This was an excellent experience. We have returned on several occasions and the quality of service and food was always fresh and delicious. The ambiance of Tea by Julia is comforting and relaxing with a hint of history adding to the savory teas. Highly recommend.

I attended Miss Julia's open house this past weekend. The setting is lovely in a restored Stone Mansion. Miss Julia was very warm and welcoming. The food was excellent. I would like to return for a full tea. This is a new tea room and certainly one to be visited.
